Recently restored using the original footprint and stone of the previous croft house, this property combines the old with the new and delivers a very attractive 3-bedroom home for you to enjoy. Downstairs comprises mainly of the expansive living/kitchen area; boasting windows to the front to soak up the beautiful views. The Beach House comfortably sleeps six adults, with three large bedrooms. There is easy ramp access and a ground-level (king sized) bedroom and shower room. There is also private gated access to the loch beach.
The abundance of wildlife that thrives right on the doorstep is magical. There is a resident seal colony on the shores below, occasional pods of dolphins can be seen passing through, and sea eagles or Golden Eagles are often spotted soaring above. Just 2 miles from South Steading, is the pretty seaside town of West Kilbride with fantastic views across the water to Arran and surrounding islands. Designated Scotland’s first Craft Town, visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the village where they will find a range of cafes, mini galleries, a dedicated craft centre, pubs and gift shops. Also offering the more practical elements for your holiday such as a post office, small supermarkets and a railway station.
Ayrshire is famous worldwide for golf and offers world class championship courses at Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick. The West Kilbride Golf Club offers a championship links course located in Seamill, 3 miles from the farm.
Largs and Ardrossan are popular seaside towns, 8 miles and 7 miles away respectively, where there are watersports offered. Sandy beaches in Seamill. The Firth of Clyde has excellent sailing with yachting clubs and marinas at Ardrossan,Largs, Inverkip and Troon. There are also good opportunities for hill walking and mountain biking, field sports including horse riding, shooting and fishing. Visitors will enjoy visiting the historic castles at Portencross, Hunterston and Law Castle and enjoy the views from the local Tarbert Hill and Law Hill.

Taynuilt, Scotland 4.75Completely renovated in 2021, this beautiful detached, single-storey holiday cottage enjoys an idyllic location, with Loch Etive to the front and the River Awe directly behind. Extremely well furnished and equipped the property has direct access onto the beach. It boasts stunning views across the sea loch to the mountains beyond from some of the rooms, and lovely views over the garden from the others. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area seating eight guests. The house enjoys significant privacy with its only neighbours being seals, otters and yachts. Point Park is one of the very few properties to truly have a sea frontage, located just 5 metres from Loch Etive’s shore with direct beach access. The lovely little town of Taynuilt has a friendly community and offers a village grocery store, a post office, butchers, tea room, hairdressers, doctor’s surgery and a restaurant serving good food. There is also a train station, the line through Taynuilt runs from Glasgow to Oban so you can have a day in the city or head to the islands. Taynuilt’s golf course is just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage and offers 9 holes.
The bustling Victorian town of Oban known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’ is just 20 minutes away by carand offers shops, bars, seafood restaurants, a cinema and leisure centre. Whisky lovers can visit the Oban Distillery to learn how it’s all made. Regular boat trips leave the busy harbour bound for the Inner Hebridean Islands, including Mull, Iona and the Treshnish Isles with their comical puffins.
Enjoy leisurely forest walks, horseriding, fishing, sailing, diving and golf, or for the more adventurous, Glen Nevis, one of the Highland’s most famous glens and the location of scenes from Harry Potter and Braveheart, is only a short drive and offers stunning scenery and bracing walks. Explore famous castles, historical sites and mature gardens. Visit Bonawe Iron Works, Cruachan Hollow Mountain or the Inveraray Jail. North Kessock, Scotland 5.00Set by the shore of Beauly Firth, this semi-detached, single-storey property enjoys lovely views over the glistening waters towards the mountains beyond. Furnished and equipped to a good standard, including with a dining table for 6 people, this wing of a larger property is conveniently situated for exploring this lovely part of the Northern Highlands, yet The Sea Lodge still enjoys its private setting. Although there is private parking for 2 cars, if you need extra space please let the owners know. With a charming pub, restaurant, grocery shop and a fresh sea breeze, the village of North Kessock is well worth a visit just 3 miles away, as is Inverness; the ‘capital of the Highlands’, which is 5 miles away.
Take a trip along the beautiful Moray coastline, which was voted amongst the top 20 of the world’s best coastline destinations thanks to its rugged cliffs, busy little fishing ports, tranquil beaches and Moray Firth’s own resident bottlenose dolphins. There are regular dolphin cruises on the Moray Firth, as well as the Dolphin and Seal Centre near to the village.
Also nearby is the Black Isle Wildlife Park. Take a trip along the Moray Malt Whiskey Trail – the only one of its kind in the world. The area has many attractions including Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Cawdor and Brodie Castles, the ruins of Urquhart Castle, not to mention the world-famous Loch Ness. The area is a paradise for outdoorsy types with a wealth of activities available including mountain biking, hill walking, orienteering, sea and loch trips, as well as a number of water sports (you could even launch your kayak right from your front door!). Golf is also available with numerous links and championship courses within easy reach.
