Rose Cottage (SRRG) is a single-storey conversion adjoining the owner’s farmhouse. Home to what has been regarded as ‘the most beautiful walk in Cornwall’ the area takes you through deeply wooded paths, picturesque streams and under an ancient viaduct that once carried Cornwall’s china clay, tin and granite barges through to the north. It is just a short stroll to Prideaux Wood where the Saints’ Way walk can be found, 27 miles of historic footpath that leads all the way from the fishing village of Fowey on the south coast to the harbour town of Padstow in the north. The path is steeped in historic Cornish interest rambling through ancient ruins and a whole tapestry of poignant history. For coastal walking, the Cornish cliffs allow walkers to take in the invigorating Atlantic air and enjoy incredible ocean vistas. This area of Cornwall is rich in historic homes and gardens including the world famous Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan -a restored Victorian masterpiece that was lost to the world for many years and is forever linked with the village of Mevagissey on the south coast. There are many other gardens of interest including Caerhays, Tregahan and Trelissick on the Roseland Peninsula. The south coast also has many outstanding beaches, cliff walks, secluded coves and historic seafaring towns such as Falmouth and Fowey which are within easy reach of Prideaux. Foodies love Falmouth, as it is home to many famous fish restaurants, great bars and cafés dotted along the marina. Events Square has many alfresco dining areas and stages high profile events throughout the year.

Take one of the ferries or water taxis to visit St Mawes, Flushing or the picturesque Helford River. Go on a wildlife safari to watch dolphins, basking sharks, seals and an abundance of marine wildlife. The area is great for golfers, walkers, sailors, water sports enthusiasts, or those seeking a relaxing holiday, soaking up some of Cornwall’s best beaches, including the award-winning Gyllyngvase Beach at Falmouth.

There are also lots of activities such as surfing to be had on these beaches, or simply just relax in the sunshine. There is an archery and falconry centre just 6 miles from the property where you can hold and feed the various birds they have there. Worms Head is a great adventure, and part of the Wales Coastal Path, where you can walk over the cliffs and rocks with fabulous views from the top, over to parts of the Devon coast on a clear day. You may also be able to spot some seals too, but be sure to be back before the tide comes in.
