Relax and enjoy a well-deserved break in this idyllic little semi-detached cottage. Set in the tiny hamlet of Kettins just 1½ miles from the market town of Coupar Angus, it is a pastoral delight, with whitewashed walls surrounded by attractive gardens. The row of cottages are set up a few steps from a tiny village green with a small stream meandering past. Inside, the cottage has been tastefully furnished and retains some original features including arched doorways, high ceilings and wooden floors, with a cosy open fire in the living room leading through to a small kitchen/dining room. At the back the sunny sheltered patio slopes upward to a lovely lawn and is perfect for alfresco meals.
A walkers and cyclists paradise there are plenty of waymarked paths through arable countryside of the Vale of Strathmore through Meigle, Ardler and Coupar Angus to the more challenging glens beyond Blairgowrie. Renowned for its soft fruit, there are plenty of good cafes and restaurants nearby showcasing local produce, and a good range of shops locally and further afield in Dundee and Perth. Glamis Castle, the childhood home of H.M Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and the Pictish Stone Museum are well worth a visit and the cottage is within half an hour of the Cairngorms National Park. The ski slopes at Glenshee are a short drive and Pitlochry is within easy reach. Golfers have plenty of courses to choose from including Rosemount and Carnoustie, or explore the clean sandy beaches strung out along the east coast. Beach 19 miles. A few miles beyond is the bustling market town of Blairgowrie with its good selection of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. Heading west, enjoy a scenic route to the popular town of Pitlochry with its theatre, shops and fish ladder. In the winter months try your hand at skiing at Glenshee, just 20 miles away, or travel a little further and enjoy the stunning scenery of Braemar. Golf, horse riding, hill walking and cycling are all available in abundance in this lovely area.

There are several excellent golf courses in the town and local area, including a championship course a mile away as well as the Rosemount and Lansdowne courses. Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie are within an hour’s drive. Explore the many castles, stately homes and gardens nearby, including Glamis and Scone Palace. The cities of Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Edinburgh are all within easy driving distance. Relax in the garden with a glass of wine after enjoying this beautiful area and all it has to offer. Just 16 miles from Blairgowrie, Perth has a wealth of cultural activities to enjoy including theatre, cinema, museums and art galleries, as well as interesting boutique shops to browse round. Walking is a popular pastime round these parts with the Angus Glens easily reached and the Cateran Trail (a circular 60-mile walk) popular with hikers of all ability levels. Golf is well catered for, with the renowned Rosemount course just a 5-minute drive away. Gleneagles and St Andrews are further afield for those who like to really test their skills.
Edinburgh and Glasgow can be reached within a couple of hours for days out further afield. The slopes of Glenshee are close by and cater for many activities, including mountain biking, hang gliding and abseiling for the adventurous. Golf is also available nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Although attached to the owner’s residence the cottage is totally self-contained has a lovely private hot tub for exclusive use, this is a nature lover’s paradise!
Surrounding the property are two peaceful woodland areas bursting with wildlife including deer, ospreys, otters and red squirrels, which are regularly seen from the lounge and kitchen windows of the property. The owners welcome you to explore the woods which are criss-crossed with winding paths and seating areas. There is also a fishing lake which guests can make use of, not to mention the attractive ruins of Glasclune Castle also within the grounds, a Grade I Historic Building.
If you can tear yourself away, there are easy to moderate walks locally, more strenuous ones within driving distance in the Angus Glens and on and off road cycle tracks nearby. The Cateran Trail, a circuit through Perthshire and Angus glens, can be joined at the end of Woodside’s drive. In addition, many castles, stately homes and gardens abound in the vicinity including Glamis and Scone Palace. If you were to book Woodside in the winter months, the road leading up to the property is an upwards hill, this is mainly suited for four wheel drive vehicles but any other may find it difficult to climb. Blairgowrie has a good selection of places to eat, drink and shop as well as the Cargill’s Leap landmark to the north of the town. For golfers there are almost too many courses to mention but notably St Andrews, Carnoustie, Rosemount (in Blairgowrie itself) and Gleneagles are within an hour’s drive. Winter skiing is available at Glenshee or for more relaxed days out explore the cities of Perth, Dundee and Edinburgh, all within easy reach.
