Tuckenhay is only a 20-minute drive from the superb award-winning beach at Blackpool Sands and about 30 minutes from a surfing beach at Bantham, as well as some of the best natural beaches to be found anywhere in the UK.
There is also extensive access to the coastal footpath for walking and the wilderness that is Dartmoor for walking, climbing and riding.
This is a mecca for ramblers, bird-watchers, swimmers, surfers, horse riders, golfers and those interested in fishing, boating, sailing and windsurfing.
In addition, there are many historic NT houses to visit including Agatha Christies’s Greenway as well as a local vineyard.

Morven View is an outstanding holiday property in the far north of Scotland. The Northern Highlands us a wild place, and Morven View has an aspect looking out over the interior towards the highest peak in Caithness.
Here you are just a couple of miles from Dunbeath village and only two miles from the coastline and a charming beach at Dunbeath Bay. Morven View offers the best of the Highlands, with mountains one way, dramatic coast the other. The owner can recommend some wonderful things to do in and around Dunbeath, as well as suggest brilliant itineraries around this fantastic part of Scotland. Morven View is excellently placed for a tour of the North Coast 500 northern section, situated close to two of the roads that cross the interior over to the north coast.
As well as having the characterful fishing villages of Lybster, Helmsdale and Brora close by, the town of Wick is not far away and John O’Groats a little further with dramatic Duncansby Head well worth a visit. The drive across to Cape Wrath is sublime, and the off-the-beaten road via Altnaharra or Kinbrace is a true Highland highlight.

Owl Cottage can be found on a working sheep farm just a short walk from the cliff top village of Flamborough in North Yorkshire. An electric wood effect fire sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening. Find a selection of books and games for your enjoyment. Owl Cottage is surrounded by open countryside and it’s only a short walk into the pretty village of Flamborough. Here you’ll find a couple of friendly pubs, fish and chip shops, tea rooms and well stocked convenience stores. Take a drive to Flamborough Lighthouse and watch the seals rest at low tide. The Flamborough Heritage Coastline offers miles of walking/cycling opportunities as well as the stunning RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Danes Dyke Nature Reserve is also worth a visit. For two sandy beaches, working harbour and Victorian Promenade take a trip down the coast to Bridlington. Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and gardens and Sewerby Hall and garden are close by. The historic city of York is just an hour away and there is a choice of golf courses.

There are nearby shops just down the road from the property and in the opposite direction a local pub/restaurant. Venture into Paignton town to experience the arcades, cinema, crazy golf, beach and pier to name just a few. Whether wanting to experience Paignton itself or explore further afield such as Torquay and Brixham, making up the beautiful English Riviera, Paignton place is a fantastic place to start. Not to mention surrounding areas such as Kingswear, Dartmouth, Teignmouth and the local city of Exeter.

A little further is the bustling market town of Sheringham, popular with holidaymakers and locals alike. Head east to experience all the fun of the fair and explore the golden mile of Great Yarmouth. In fact, all along the coast in both directions you will find a string of coastal villages with various beach habitats, including grassy sand dunes, shingle and sand beaches, and marshes and quays.

History buffs will find much to see and do including The Blickling Estate and the Thursford and Muckleburgh Collections. Wildlife and nature fans can explore the Broads, Sheringham Park and Cley Marshes. For those wishing to explore on foot, you will find the nearby market town of North Walsham offers lots of places to eat and drink, and the woods offer picturesque walks. In fact, there is so much to see and do you will be pleased to head back to Pipistrelle Barn after a busy day to relax and unwind in the private hot tub. Beach 4 miles. There is a designated cycle route close by, and many scenic walking routes too, including the Dinosaur Trail, Tennyson Trail and Treasure Trail. There is a choice of challenging off-road bridleways, peaceful byways and level, purpose-made tracks running along former railway lines. You can even take on the full 66-mile ‘Round the Island Route’, as used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee.
Close by Colwell Bay offers spectacular views across the Solent to mainland England, with clear, calm waters and gently sloping sand and shingle, an ideal beach for swimming. Or follow the coastline and enjoy a stroll along to Totland Bay, where you can find a bar, restaurant and a café to try the exquisite seafood and experience some of the finest sunsets. For surfers and kite surfing enthusiasts, Compton Bay a short drive away with a 2-mile stretch of contrasting sands, with rolling seas, and a stunning backdrop of multi-coloured sandstone cliffs. It’s also a great place to go fossil hunting at low tide. The Needles is a short distance away to the west, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay.
