Situated in a quiet rural location, Bardon Lodge is a spacious property attached to the owner’s home and set within 10 acres of grounds. The property is surrounded by fields and woodland, yet close enough to all amenities. The property has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard and is all on one level with both bedrooms having en-suite facilities. There is a living room with patio doors which lead to the decking area, ideal for dining al fresco. The sitting room also has patio doors leading out to the garden. The owner has horses and free range chickens may even come and visit!
There are so many places to visit and so easy to get to. Take a trip to Totnes where there are many shops, markets and walks along the riverbank. Dartmoor is just a short car ride where you can see the ponies, walk the Tors or simply stop off in one of the many villages for a Devon cream tea. Paignton, Torquay and Brixham are also great places to visit, as are Exeter and Plymouth, both within 30 minutes’ drive. There are many National Trust properties including Agatha Christie’s summer home ’Greenway’, well worth a visit. For the children, there is Crealy Adventure park, or Go Ape in Haldon. If you are bringing a bicycle, there are many cycle ways off road to be explored, including Powderham Castle where there is a cycle track all along the estuary. Known as the Artist’s town, Kirkcudbright attracts visitors throughout the year drawn by the harbour, the historic high street and the diverse range of annual events and visitor attractions. Set in the historic town of Leyburn in the heart of beautiful Wensleydale, this comfortable, detached and cosy holiday home has a conservatory, a living room with oak floor and has something to offer to guests of all ages. With spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, quaint local shops and cafes, traditional pubs and a weekly farmers’ market, the gateway town of Leyburn is the perfect base for guests to enjoy walking, cycling, sightseeing or just a quiet, romantic break. Stroll along the famous Leyburn Shawl or walk to Castle Bolton, Middleham Castle, Constable Burton Hall Gardens and the nearby Aysgarth Falls. A short drive away is Hardraw, home to England’s highest unbroken waterfall. The Shawl is only a few steps from the Market Place in the centre of Leyburn and is accessible for walkers of all abilities and ages. Hop on the Wensleydale Vintage Bus to Ripon or Hawes, or ride the train on the Wensleydale Railway. Visit the nearby Forbidden Corner attraction in Coverdale where guests can follow a trail of follies, or the Georgian market town of Richmond, which offers many shops, restaurants, pubs and tea shops. This beautiful and historic town in is settled high above the River Swale and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area and the chance to browse the weekly market and monthly farmers’ market with local produce and crafts. Within an easy 2-hour drive is the historic cathedral city of Durham with its cathedral, castle and city walls. The picturesque harbour of West Bay is 2 miles away and was made famous by the TV drama ’Broadchurch’, while the village of Abbotsbury, 3 miles away, is popular for its swannery, sub-tropical gardens and childrens farm. Spread along the coast from Sidmouth is a host of attractions, including the Donkey Sanctuary and Beer Caves at Seaton and Axminster where you can ride on the trams or eat at the River Cottage restaurant. Into Dorset try fishing in a boat out of the cobb at Lymm Regis, fossil hunting at the museum or a walk up Golden Cap for the breathtaking views. Weymouth with its sandy beaches and Sealife Centre is well worth a visit, discover the dinosaurs at the Dorchester museum or travel back in time with a visit to Thomas Hardy’s cottage, go to war at the Bevington Tank Museum, or say ’hi’ to the monkeys at Monkey World. Enjoy a dip at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door for a sightseeing walk, explore Crofe Castle, and then all aboard the steam train at Swanage. Shops and pubs 1 mile.

The Old Forge is a horse lovers dream, with so much nearby for all the family to enjoy. It provides the perfect base for exploring not only the stunning Yorkshire Wolds and east coast, but also the vibrant towns of Beverley and Driffield.
Bright and welcoming, this dog friendly property has an open plan living space with wood burner and deep sofas, one of which doubles as a sofa bed. The kitchen and dining area provides everything needed to enable the chef in the group to cook delicious homemade meals. On the first floor, you will find two well-appointed, cosy bedrooms. Both rooms are lovingly furnished with vaulted ceilings and en-suite shower rooms. The cottage is tastefully decorated throughout. Outside, the small courtyard has seating and enjoys the sun for much of the day. It also boasts a hot tub, the perfect place to relax. As a working stud farm, the owners offer the opportunity to look around and see some of their world class mares and foals (arranged on arrival). For those with horses, stabling is available.
Fraisthorpe Beach is perfect for horse riding. The village of Brandesburton is home to a couple of pubs alongside several shops and restaurants. A short drive brings you to the pretty Wolds town of Beverley offering independent shops, cafés and restaurants. A day at Beverley Races or a round of golf at one of the many local golf courses are sure to keep everyone entertained. The seaside town of Hornsea is on the doorstep and with pony rides, ice-cream and fish and chips is a lovely family destination. With so much to do and see in the surrounding area including the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, the Nature Reserve at Spurn Point and various stately homes, you are guaranteed a holiday to remember.

Saxtead Green’s famous 18th century post mill (EH) is 1 mile, Framlingham – an attractive market town with a castle and mere – is 2 miles, Southwold with its glorious beach, Aldeburgh and the lovely town of Woodbridge with its pretty harbour are all an easy drive.
