Middleton Cottage has been lovingly furnished throughout with a spacious open plan kitchen diner with views over the rear enclosed garden, the cosy living room boasts a log burner and is ideal to relax in front of with a good film after a busy day sightseeing. Enjoy a read of some good books or some board games in the snug which acts as a second living space which is ideal to keep children entertained. On the first floor both light and airy bedrooms have been finished with comfort in mind and offer a good nights sleep.
The ancient town of Kidwelly is a 15-minute drive away and is home to one of the finest preserved Norman castles in Wales, along this wonderful coast is Pembrey Country Park, set in 500 acres of woodland where you can learn to dry ski and toboggan, there’s a children’s play area and 8 miles of golden sands at Cefn Sidan beach. Dylan Thomas’ stomping ground and the township of Laugharne are well worth a trip. Here you can visit his writing shed and see his local pub. The famous seaside walled town of Tenby and the Gower Peninsula are a great day out and within an hour’s drive.

Moss Cottage is situated in the heart of the coastal town of Burry Port, on the doorstep of the Millennium Coastal footpath that meanders through the stunning scenery of Llanelli through to the historic town of Kidwelly. Lovingly restored, this terraced cottage has retained all of the property’s original charm and character, with an open plan living/dining room complete with a focal inglenook fireplace and a great sociable kitchen/breakfast room. On the first floor, the character continues with original stripped back floor boards and a restored feature fireplace within the master bedroom. The two double bedrooms also boast sea views. Make the most of the balmy summer days on the enclosed courtyard, while a few steps further away there is a lawned garden to enjoy. There is an in house gallery which supports local artists, pictures can be purchased from the owner.
With the beautiful Gower to the east and Pembrokeshire to the west, Moss Cottage is perfectly positioned to explore south and west Wales, but there is also so much to discover within Carmarthenshire. It has it all - castles, gardens, beaches, unique towns, varied landscapes and an overwhelming choice of activities. Enjoy a plethora of traditional Welsh pubs specialising in organic and home cooked food. 6 miles away is Pembrey Country Park and beach, with 550 acres of woodland, Segway and cycle hire, pitch and putt, nature trails, a dry ski slope and the longest toboggan run in Wales. Explore the history of the area and visit Kidwelly Castle, Laugharne Castle and Dylan Thomas Boat House. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, with a huge glass dome, is perfect for a day out whatever the weather, or discover a wide range of wildlife at the Llanelli Wetland Centre. One of the oldest towns, Carmarthen, is easily accessible by car, and horse racing enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity to Ffos Las Racecourse. The village shop, pub and restaurant are only 1½ miles….no hustle and bustle of busy tourist towns here!
Take a trip to Llanstephan and enjoy afternoon tea in the mansion house or walk on the sandy beach and then visit the castle. Only 15 minutes away is Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas, again with a beautiful sandy beach and castle with a tearoom. There is also Pembrey Country Park or Heatherton and Oakwood theme parks to visit or for younger guests (and parents!) visit Folly Farm with lambs, all things fluffy and even tigers and giraffes. A short drive away is Skanda Vale a multi faith ashram which welcomes 90,000 pilgrims a year for those who need a peaceful retreat to stay whilst visiting the temples.
