The glistening Loughor Estuary is on the doorstep and provides a haven for waders and geese at the National Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre, 3 miles. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Path (and 12 mile bike track) to Pembrey Country Park leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB). For a family outing, visit the scenic Pembrey Country Park, 8 miles, and discover its 7 miles of sandy beaches set within the forest, featuring a dry ski slope, horse riding trails and model steam engines. For the sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy a round of golf at the Jack Nicklaus course or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las racecourse. Away from the coast, Carmarthenshire countryside is just as promising with its array of charming market towns such as Llandelio and Carmarthen, as well the many enchanted medieval sites dotted around the county, including Kidwelly and Dinefwr 12th century castle and Heritage park. Nearby, explore the historic castles of Kidwelly, Dynevor and Carew, and learn the rich history of the medieval times. Spend days visiting the market towns of Carmarthen and Laugharne, which was home to the famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas, and is renowned for its iconic boat house, historic castle, and traditional Welsh pubs where fresh fish is always on the menu. Less than a 30-minute drive away are the coastal resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot, offering sandy beaches, boutique-style shops, and thrilling leisure parks, including Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm. Highfield Bungalow has been set up to comfortably sleep up to 6 guests. There are three bedrooms all with TV’s and ample storage, two of the rooms have king size beds and one is set up with twin single beds. The open plan L shaped living space is perfect for socialising and enjoying quality time together. Enjoy a cosy movie night - the lounge area is set up with an ‘L’ shaped sofa, cuddle armchair, a log burner, and a wall mounted Smart TV. Cook and dine together - the kitchen dining area is spacious, with a modern kitchen, dining table and bifold doors out to the decking area. The decking area houses a table and chairs to seat six, charcoal BBQ, and a hot tub!
Located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, you can take a hike in the Welsh hills from the top of the road, then head back for a soak in the hot tub, or head down the road to Garnant where you’ll find local pubs and take aways to refuel! Further afield there are plenty of places to visit for a day out, the picturesque village of Llandeilo, National show caves of Wales - Dan Yr Ogof, and beautiful waterfall walks at Ystradfellte. In under an hour by car there are some of Wales’ most beautiful beaches and seaside towns or just over an hour will get you to Tenby – Wales’ most popular seaside town!
