There are numerous public footpaths for walkers to enjoy and a section of the North Wales cycle route cuts through Llanllechid. In around ten minutes you may drive to Penryhn Castle owned by the National Trust with its grand rooms and attractive gardens. Or if you prefer a little retail therapy the city of Bangor is a further five minutes away. Ask for the quick route to Aber Falls and you could be at the start of a really nice and not too arduous walk in about 15 minutes to see the waterfall. Slightly further afield there are numerous attractive places to visit both seaside and hillside. If you want to feel really rural yet able to reach a vast array of tourist destinations, this is the place to be. Beach 5 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub 1¼ miles and restaurant 2¼ miles.

Tyn Y Maen is a welcoming, comfortable property with a large garden, and benefits from an outdoor utility which has an additional shower and storage for bikes, kayaks and paddle boards. The living room has a large inglenook fireplace with cosy log burner, and doors leading out onto the large garden area. There are three bedrooms and a family bathroom, along with a well-equipped kitchen/dining area.

Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle and a fine selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, is just 15 minutes drive away, and is also the start of the Welsh Highland Railway for scenic journeys into the heart of Snowdonia. The popular beaches of Dinas Dinlle and Llanfairfechan are only 20 minutes’ drive away. Tyn Y Maen is a perfect location for relaxing winter escapes and summer beach holidays.

Situated perfectly between mountains and coastline, this wonderful property is perfect for family and friends getting together to explore the many attractions of the area. The ground floor of this property is very accessible as there’s a ramp which gives access through a bedroom on the ground floor, along with a second entry point through another bedroom into the living area.
Tregarth is a traditional Welsh village, originating from the slate mining industry of times gone by, now a friendly village with a traditional welcoming pub. You’ll be positioned perfectly to explore the captivating island of Anglesey which is only a short drive, along with the Snowdonia National Park, which has many walking routes up Mount Snowdon. Only 3 miles away is the action packed Zipworld Penrhyn Quarry with a plethora of activities, along with cafés serving quality food. Also nearby is Penrhyn Castle, a National Trust castle, well worth a visit for all ages. And further down the coast is Conwy, a historic harbour town with UNESCO status castle, town walls and many historic buildings to visit. Beach 9 miles.

This spacious chapel may have high ceilings but there’s no need to worry about it being chilly, with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor it’s lovely and toasty. The living and kitchen area is open plan making this an ideal social space, there’s two modern bathrooms one with luxurious slipper bath. Two bedrooms; one mezzanine style.
Bethel is just under 10 minutes from the centre of Bala, surrounded by the dramatic landscape of the Snowdonia National Park, this makes a great base from which to explore the area. The historic town of Bala has a wide range of cafés and restaurants and an award-winning butcher, people travel for miles for their pork pies! You’ll also find a leisure centre with swimming pool and sports hall. There are water sports both on the lake, Llyn Tegid and close by at the White-Water Rafting Centre, as well as a golf course.
Take a trip along the lake on the 2ft narrow gauge steam trains, a 9-mile trip taking in some breath-taking scenery along the way. This area is surrounded by the rural region of Penllyn, with mountains, forests, waterfalls, and many lakes, perfect for avid kayakers and paddle boarders. Penllyn’s main mountain ranges - Aran, Arenig and Berwyn – rival those of other parts of Snowdonia but are not as crowded. Hundreds of miles of footpaths and bridleways give access to spectacular places no matter what time of year you visit. Further afield is Llangollen well worth a trip in the car, here you’ll find the Horseshoe Falls and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which offers beautiful walks, barge trips and views.

Bring your bucket and spade as the glorious sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn is just a mile down the road and offers superb views over to the Rhinog Mountains. For the more adventurous, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are a thrill seekers delight, whilst the famous Ffestiniog Railway and mighty Harlech Castle are also well worth a visit. From Barmouth, why not hire a bike and cycle across Barmouth Bridge and along the Mawddach Trail to Penmaenpool and Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shops 300 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

Situated in the southern reaches of Snowdonia National Park, this charming, semi-detached cottage has been lovingly restored to provide spacious yet cosy holiday accommodation. Set on the edge of Abergynolwyn, a village that lies in the shadows of Cader Idris and situated between the popular seaside resort of Tywyn and market town Dolgellau, this beautiful detached barn conversion provides spacious accommodation, ideal for families wishing to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Tywyn is surrounded by the Tarren Hills, and holds the 7-mile long Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Steam Railway that runs between Tywyn Wharf and Nant Gwernol. Many of the area’s beaches are dog friendly and Fairlawns can accommodate up to 2 dogs. The property makes a great base for exploring the area. Take a trip on the little Fairbourne Railway out to the headland and cross the Mawddach Estuary by ferry, and visit Barmouth where you can try crabbing in the harbour, or stroll across the famous Barmouth Bridge. Imagine yourself climbing Cader Idris, exploring the ruins of Castell-y-Bere, or riding behind a steam engine on the friendly Talyllyn Railway and hopping off the train to explore the waterfalls at Dolgoch or Nant Gwernol. Visit the pretty market town of Dolgellau, go walking or mountain biking at Coed-Y-Brenin Forest Park, then relax in the garden with a glass of wine, watching the sun set.
