Situated on a section of the River Steeping known as the ’Haven’, these beautifully converted cottages offer cosy, stylish holiday accommodation in a peaceful, picturesque location and enjoy country views. All three properties have the added benefit of a private hot tub. Originally agricultural buildings dating from 1872, access to the cottages is via a private lane on the owner’s arable farm, which itself is steeped in history. Guests are welcome to explore over 80 acres of riverbank and tracks, ideal for wildlife watching and romantic strolls. Just 800 yards away is the medieval town of Wainfleet All Saints. Here visitors will find a weekly market and street auctions, pubs, a famous brewery with visitor tours, restaurants and shops. Award-winning sandy beaches, family entertainment and amusements can be found 5 miles away in Skegness, and Fantasy Island fun park is 8 miles. Gunby Hall is 7 miles and Tattersall Castle 15 miles, both National Trust. Horncastle, famous for antiques, is 15 miles and the medieval cathedral city of Lincoln is 40 miles. Rowan Cottage is perfect to retire to after a busy day sightseeing, relax in your private hot tub with a glass of bubbly, relax those muscles and take in the stars. On-site there is plenty to keep you busy with a large, shared games room boasting a full size pool table, table football, table tennis and soft play area for the young ones. For those more active, enjoy a game of tennis or keep fit at the gym. There is also an outdoor climbing frame and slide to keep the children entertained.
Rowan Cottage is set all on one level within the mature grounds of the owner’s home and is the end of a row of three beautiful cottages. The modern open plan kitchen, dining and living room is a great social space and leads onto patio doors into your enclosed garden complete with patio and lawned garden perfect for evening sunsets with far reaching countryside views. The spacious master bedroom is perfect for a good night’s sleep with both bedrooms bright, airy and well finished. The coastal hamlet of Little Haven is 10 minutes away where you can enjoy fresh line caught fish or an array of shellfish, and the local inn/restaurant serving local ales. Travelling further southwest, visit the boating village of Dale and enjoy some fantastic walks, boating, kayaking and fishing, or for some birdlife, take a trip to Skomer Island with boats departing from St Martins Haven. Tenby, Folly Farm Zoo, Heatherton World of Adventures and Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park, are all within 40 minutes’ drive and perfect for all the family. Beach 3 miles. Set in the heart of River Cottage land, just outside the town of Axminster, these two properties have amazing views and are surrounded by rolling hills, and are just 10 minutes’ from the beach. Shepherds Knapp Lodge (ref UK13284) is a beautiful, detached, two bedroom lodge with a large well laid out living/kitchen/dining area, with a large comfy corner sofa. The pine dining table is perfect for mealtimes as well as socialising in the evening playing games or enjoying a glass of wine after a long day exploring. The two bedrooms are warm and comfortable with a double and a twin and the good sized shower room has a corner shower cubicle.
Shepherds Knapp (ref UK13285) is a stunning semi-detached, two bedroom cottage, the beautiful and well-equipped kitchen/dining room has granite worktops, marble dining table and range cooker. The large living room has gorgeous leather sofas, a Smart TV and an PlayStation 3, perfect for rainy days. The large French doors lead onto the balcony with picture perfect views over the hills beyond. Upstairs are two sumptuous bedrooms with the main bedroom having a kingsize French bed. There is a twin bedroom and a beautiful shower room with Italian tiles and walk-in shower. Outside there are two seating areas, to the rear an enclosed private courtyard and to the front a private balcony with countryside views.
The properties are perfect for attending courses at River Cottage or if you just want to head to the River Cottage Kitchen in Axminster to sample some of their tasty delights. Just 10 minutes drive away is the gorgeous seaside town of Lyme Regis with its sandy beach and seaside stores, the harbour town of West Bay (made famous by the TV series Broadchurch) is reachable within 20 minutes. Heading slightly further afield you will find the city of Exeter with its shops, restaurants and entertainment. You can also catch the train from nearby Axminster. Beach 4¾ miles. These wonderfully converted farm buildings originally formed part of the grounds of Dolgoy Farm, believed to have originated around 400 years ago and in its heyday was in excess of 200 acres. These charming holiday homes are nestled within the grounds of the owners’ 35-acre small-holding, amidst the peaceful sounds of rural life and just 2 miles from the coast. Each property overlooks a lovely pond, home to ducks and other wildlife.
Aptly named Galleri (ref UK31147) features a gallery with a reclining chair overlooking the living area. It has a seating area to the front looking across to the pond and a sunken garden with a private Jacuzzi hot tub to the rear, from which you can enjoy the tranquillity of Dolgoy, catch the sun or enjoy the starry skies.
Snuggle Cottage (ref PA2), one of a row, is a cosy, beamed stone cottage for two, with a sitting area to the front of the cottage from which you can enjoy its tranquil surroundings as well as a pretty, private patio garden and Jacuzzi hot tub to the rear which catches the sun throughout the day.
Ponycob Cottage (ref PA6) is named after the Welsh name for pony; the larger Welsh cob, known for its hardiness and good temperament, historically used on the farm. This lovingly restored, semi-detached stone conversion features characterful beams and a private patio garden with its own Jacuzzi hot tub, within a truly peaceful setting.
The Coach House Loft (ref 30160) is set on the first floor and has been sympathetically created within the Coach House, also boasting a private patio garden with its own Jacuzzi hot tub.
The owners, who live adjacent to the properties, have lovingly renovated the buildings and preserved their features and history whilst providing contemporary amenities and comfort. If cycling is more your thing than horseback, here at Stable Lodge you are close to the 7Stanes mountain biking trails at Kirroughtree and Dalbeattie Forests; Kirroughtree has some of the best technical single-track mountain bike trails in Scotland. A must is a wander around the pretty little town of Kirkcudbright only a short drive away. With its busy harbour, you can watch the fishing boats return with their catch or visit the famous Broughton House, once the home of E. A. Hornel, or experience the Arts and Crafts Trail.
A must for children and adults alike is a visit to the Dark Sky Planetarium a state-of-the-art interactive science and space-themed experience for everyone or you just may prefer the Dark Art Gin Distillery next door! Throughout the year the town hosts a diverse range of annual events from farmers’ markets, a country fair, a jazz festival, a festival of light, the riding of the marches and, of course, the spectacular tattoo, an event not to be missed. Monreith is a tiny hamlet on the coast a few miles along from Port William, known as the ‘Machars of Galloway’ where there is a village shop, restaurant, and café. Whilst in Port William you must stop and get a photograph with The Man! This area of Dumfries and Galloway boasts rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches, which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf Stream.
Surrounded by breath taking scenery, Sunnyside Lodge offers an ideal base from which to explore the Machars Peninsula and the Galloway Hills. There are many beautiful gardens to visit, including the renowned Logan Botanical Gardens, which is a paradise to behold. As well as Port William you can also explore quaint villages such as Sandhead, Portpatrick and the Isle of Whithorn.
A visit to the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point and home to the RSPB nature reserve, where thousands of seabird’s nests on the cliff face during spring and summer. Sunnyside Lodge is a short drive from Wigtown, which is famous for being Scotland’s National Book Town, a book lovers haven. This is also a great destination for cycling, fishing, and golfing with St Medans 9-hole golf course and beach practically on your doorstep.

These pet friendly holiday barns are situated less than half a mile from the stunning north coast of Cornwall. The access is via a typical Cornish narrow road with beautiful scenic views of the sea peeping out through the hedgerow on approach.
In the heart of this small Cornish hamlet, the barns (refs 30108, 30109, 30110 and 30111) are furnished and fitted to provide a comfortable base from which to explore the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer. Each barn has a well-equipped kitchen as well as open-plan living. Each has its own sitting-out area, which is ideal for watching the wildlife and al fresco dining. Each property also has access to electric car charging points which a charge for use however if you require using the charging points you must bring your own lead. There are no local amenities as it is in a hamlet, but only a 5 minute car journey to the local village; we suggest you look at the welcome folder in the cottage to familiarise yourself to your surroundings and to discover what amenities are local to your stay.
This barn has the private use of a hot tub, but please note the first night the temperature may not of quite reached it’s optimal temperature due to the replenishment of fresh water post cleaning the tub.
Guests are close to the coastal path and if you walk north, you will reach Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further on, Boscastle with its picturesque harbour is a must. A small beach can be reached on foot, approximately ½ mile away. Travelling down the coast, guests will come to Port Isaac, where the TV series ’Doc Martin’ is filmed, and further down the coast, visit the beautiful sandy surfing beach at Polzeath and the dunes at Rock where you can take a ferry across to Padstow. From Padstow, with its working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants, you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin.
Close by is Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, and for walkers the tors on the moor are a must. Further down the coast is Newquay, with its famous surfing beaches, Blue Reef Aquarium and Zoo and if you travel to the south coast, you will find Looe, Fowey and Mevagissey, just a few of the charming coastal villages. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a cycle hub at Lanhydrock, with some wonderful forest routes to be taken. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

These beautifully renovated detached Welsh barns, Bryntowy (ref W43063), Ty Llo (ref W43266) and Coal House (ref W43267), stand a few yards apart, and a small terraced row of three (300 yards from the barns), comprising Wyth-y-Nant (ref W42214) and Hawton (ref W41830), both end terraced properties. All welcome children, and provide a travel cot and highchair; Bryntowy also supplies as baby bath on request. They are all situated on Carmarthen Bay in the coastal setting between Ferryside and Kidwelly. Tastefully decorated throughout, each bursts with character including original stone walls and beams.
Close to the historic castle at Kidwelly and just a short drive to Carmarthen. Beaches at Ferryside, Pembrey and Llanstephan are all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day at Fos Las racecourse, only a 15-minute drive. The holiday cottages provide an ideal location from which to enjoy the sandy beaches of Pembrokeshire and the Gower, the latter renowned for being Britain’s first AONB. Spend your days exploring the historic town of Laugharne, famously known for the iconic boathouse of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and visit the castle and traditional Welsh pubs where fresh fish is always on the menu. Don’t miss a visit to the National Botanical Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens. Golf, riding, fishing and water sports nearby. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Sluice Keeper’s Cottage has Georgian windows and is full of character and charm throughout. As you enter the property there is a reception hall, and the kitchen is hand crafted with granite surfaces and a traditional oil powered Aga and is very well equipped with great views. The comfortable lounge has leather furniture wrapping around a wood burner, and there is a formal dining room with French doors leading to a patio. Outside, the property has a fully enclosed, lawned garden with a terrace area to take in the views.
This stunning historic property is located just 8 miles north of Royal Dornoch with its spectacular beaches, and is only 3 miles from the popular town of Golspie with a selection of shops, restaurants and bars. Sluice Keeper’s Cottage has breathtaking views over the Loch Fleet, and an abundance of walks from the front door. It is also perfect for cycling enthusiasts. Fishing is available just a short walk away (at cost), and a permit is required. Beach 4.6 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

The Orangery is the perfect holiday retreat in the port town of Bideford with its pastel coloured houses and tree lined quay. With plenty of activities and attractions for both families and adults just a short drive away. Just a few to mention include the Big Sheep Family attraction, the Milky Way Adventure park, Tapely Park Gardens and Rosemoor Gardens. You are just a few minutes walk to the town centre with many shops, bars, restaurants and the Pannier Market. Bideford also boasts a lovely large park with a good size adventure playground for children, park café and outdoor paddling pool, free to use in the summer months. North Devon is the ideal location for those bringing their dogs on holiday with them with many of the local beaches being dog friendly, as are several pubs.
