Sunrise Cottage has an upside down set up which gives the first floor far reaching sea views over the Irish Sea over to the Great Orme in Llandudno. The sunsets are quite something special too. The living/dining area on the first floor provides comfortable sofas and a Freeview TV. Also on this floor you have a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven/hob, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. The lower floor bedrooms feature a double and twin configured rooms, whilst the family bathroom has a bath with shower over.

For the adventurous, you’ll find Surf Snowdonia, Tree Top Climbing and the Marin Bike trails of Gwydir Forrest all just a few miles away. In the opposite direction is the National Trust’s Bodnant Gardens, Conwy Vineyard, and the historic walled town of Conwy, which is home to a fabulous harbour and many historic buildings. Trefriw has a vibrant heart, so expect a friendly welcome at the post office/shop, the award-winning butchers, the fantastic working woollen mill, in the two pubs, and in the brasserie and local café. Trefriw is blessed with two of the most spectacular lakes (Geirionydd and Crafnant). Both lakes lie in the most stunning surroundings and offer different facilities. Geirionydd offers watersports for everyone (paddle and powerboating) whilst Crafnant is a much more peaceful environment. The community lead project Trefriw Trails has 8 waymarked trails which are suited to all ages and abilities for walking and cycling.

The property is set in a rural location yet only just over 2 miles is Betws-y-Coed known as the ‘gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’, a popular destination for all age groups. It’s a bustling spot with many highly rated eateries to enjoy, friendly pubs, some fabulous shops selling local items, and various outdoor pursuit shops, the golf club (which welcomes visitors) is also in central Betws-y-Coed. There are some very scenic walks to explore, along rivers, waterfalls, Llyn (lake) Elsi sits above the village and is well worth the hike up.
Just down the valley from Betws-y-Coed is the famous Marin Bike Trails, with colour coded routes suitable for all abilities. You’ll find a bike hire shop in Betws-y-Coed and at the nearby market town of Llanrwst; here you will also find a larger grocery store. Just up the road from the Marin bike trails is Llyn Geirionydd (Geirionydd Lake) this is a wonderful spot for a day out where you can use the lake to take a dip or use your paddle boards and kayaks; there are picnic benches available, parking and toilets.

Dating back to the Victorian era and a former vicarage, this large detached property is located slightly off the A5 historical route between Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig. The holiday property has been carefully restored retaining many original features, boasting a cosy and atmospheric wood burner, whilst a medieval highgate bed captures the Victorian period. The elevated gardens to the rear (steps may be slippery when wet) overlooks the mountains and local countryside.

The property is in an excellent location with the walks of Snowdon on the doorstep, including Llanberis Path, the easiest and longest route, The Miners’ Track, Snowdon Ranger Path and the Watkin Path. Capel Curig nestles in the foothills of Moel Siabod, Y Glyderau and Y Carneddau, endorsing the majestic view of the Snowdon horseshoe. Afon Llygwy flows through the village, making its way down to Betws-y-Coed, a nearby village where forests, lakes and mountains combine to produce a stunning landscape. Coffee shops, craft houses, a miniature steam railway and a number of good eating houses are located in the centre of Betws-y-Coed village.

Day trips to consider would be Bodnant Gardens, set in one of North Wales’ most famous estates, or Conway, with its castle walls, marina, selection of shops and delicatessens, not forgetting the smallest house in the UK according to the Guinness Book of Records. Most areas of the Lleyn Peninsula are within an hour’s drive, where good beaches and watersports can be found.
