Perranporth, EnglandThis property is situated in Perranporth, a seaside town on the north coast of Cornwall. The Annexe at Tenniside is a two-bedroom, ground floor property with its own parking and private garden. Located near a small stream and surrounded by woodland, you will find the beach to be a 10-minute walk away.
The property has everything that you would expect for a comfortable stay. The garden is very quiet and you can hear the water bubbling from the small stream. The owner has installed outdoor lighting and throws so you can enjoy the relaxing evenings whilst the little ones are tucked in bed. For those that are adventurous, why not lie in the hammock? The garden is full of colourful plants, and these are sold by the owner in the small stall on the road.
If you turn right out of the property you will see a huge tennis club, so for a small fee you can book the court, do not forget your rackets! A little further on is a very well-equipped play area for children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. There is basketball and a football pitch, as well as a table tennis to use. A little further you will find the duck pond, a beautiful place to walk, with plenty of benches, rowing boats full of flowers, and the island has a lovely waterfall. In the village you have local shops, restaurants, takeaways and cafés, offering everything from fish and chips to a roast dinner, catering for all types of cuisine you won’t be disappointed.
Perranporth beach is a 3-mile stretch of sand, a fantastic place for the whole family. There is a tidal pool at Chapel Rock as well as a fantastic watering hole. The Atlantic surf attracts surfers all year round, and there is something to do all year round. Lower Stables has been lovingly decorated with plenty of character features and quality appliances. With its tiled floor, original ceiling beams and plenty of windows letting the light in the open plan living space is warm and inviting, a great place to spread out and relax after a busy day exploring. The well-equipped kitchen, with Rangemaster cooker is a dream to cook in, why not cook up a holiday feast and dine al fresco! There are three stylishly decorated bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single room. The south-facing patio garden is a real sun trap, fire up the barbeque and enjoy an evening under the stars. The village of Tregony is often referred to as the ’gateway to the Roseland’. The extensive Fore Street is a relic from the days when this was a busy port and market town with considerable traffic. The port has long since silted up due partly to china clay workings up stream, but Tregony has retained its charm. The magical Lamorran Woods are alive with bluebells in the spring, and you are as likely to pass deer or pheasants as you are motorists along this stretch of the Roseland. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and the city of Truro are only a short drive away. Heading further into the Roseland, you can find sandy beaches at Pendower, Cream Teas at Mellinsey Mill near Veryan, sailing, and boat trips in St Mawes. - Bude, EnglandRecently renovated this stunning barn conversion has been tastefully decorated and equipped and is spacious, bright and welcoming, yet the underfloor heating will insure this property remains ideal for a winter break. There are a wealth of things to do on the farm to keep youngsters entertained including plethora of farm animals, a communal swimming pool which is heated and will be open for use between May half term and mid September, a tennis court, games room and play area.
This comfortable, dog friendly, holiday home is a 15-minute walk from Widemouth Bay which is a fantastic beach and has a vast expanse of golden sands at low tide and many rock pools to explore. The surf is often outstanding, the sun hits the beach for most of the day and the sunsets over the sea are simply magical. 3 miles to the north is Bude, a vibrant, bustling little tourist town with a wealth of restaurants and amenities.
For walkers and cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the south west coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area is a nature lovers paradise. Bude is only a couple of minutes down the road and has the full range of facilities that one would expect of a small town including a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurant.
Bude is possibly more diverse than any other holiday destination in Cornwall. Most major villages, towns and attractions are within an hour’s drive; and because Bude sits on the county border, visitors can explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall at their leisure. Look past the eight main beaches and many smaller hidden coves and you will soon see there really is something for everyone. In the centre of Bude there is a huge, sandy beach which is a favourite with children and adults alike,there are a host of pubs, cafés and restaurants to suit every palate. There is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children’s play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August.
