The golf course, which is adjacent to the beach, is within walking distance, as are many of the local attractions. Surrounding the town are many picturesque and secluded villages with quiet spots to get away from the hustle and bustle. Padstow and Watergate Bay are also close by and home to Rick Stein’s and Jamie Oliver’s restaurants (booking essential).
    Further afield will bring you to the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House and many other National Trust gardens and historic houses. Truro, St Ives, Penzance, Falmouth, Port Isaac and Fowey are also close to Newquay and all provide an excellent, alternative day out for the whole family. Beach 200 yards.     The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church.
