Occupying a dramatic location just to the south of Bude and to the north of Widemouth Bay, Headland Studio is a stunning holiday home adjoining the owner’s house in this amazing clifftop position. The entrance is to the open plan living room/kitchen with its well-equipped kitchen, dining area, two leather sofas, one of which is a double sofa bed. On the first floor is a beautiful master bedroom, orientated perfectly to enjoy the dramatic Cornish coastline unfolding in front of the house. The property has private access to the coastal footpath from the garden and a nearby cliff footpath leads down to Upton beach.
Upton beach is a shingle beach under the cliff with a multitude of rocks with rock pools to explore as the tide drops down and then from mid to low tide a sandy section is exposed. The beach does not have a lifeguard but it is fabulous for surfing in the right conditions. If you prefer a lifeguard beach, Widemouth Bay or Summerleaze Beach in Bude are both nearby sandy beaches. The coastal footpath is absolutely spectacular in this part of Cornwall and the cliffs south towards Crackington Haven from Widemouth Bay are as dramatic as anything else found in Cornwall. The sun hits the beach for most of the day and the sunsets over the sea are simply magical.
For walkers and cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the South West coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area is a nature lovers paradise. Situated on the outskirts of Bude it provides wonderful access to the North Cornwall and North Devon Coasts, with plenty of beaches and some of the best cliff walks in England all close by this is a wonderful retreat and one where man’s best friend is welcome as well! The Bude canal and cycle way passes yards from the property, and you can follow either of these to the centre of town. Bude has a huge variety of pubs, restaurants, café and shops, which are a 10 minute walk away, but the beaches of the North Cornwall coast are the must see attraction. Beach 1½ miles.

Squires is a lovely and extremely spacious, two bedroom, dog-friendly holiday home with accommodation on two levels for four people. The comfortable living room has a TV/DVD with French doors leading out to the garden. The very spacious and bright kitchen/dining room has all you’ll need for your stay including a washer/dryer and dishwasher. There’s a kingsize room upstairs with sloping ceilings, a large skylight and a TV, plus a handy en-suite toilet and a twin bedroom downstairs with an adjacent bathroom with bath and shower over. Outside there is a lovely lawned garden with countryside views and furniture and the added luxury of a private hot tub where you can enjoy evenings of star gazing. There is also a handy handheld dog shower and ample parking available on-site.
The sleepy village of Marhamchurch with its thatch and cob cottages is under 2 miles away and has an excellent community spirit and is a short drive from Bude. If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this cottage including Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination.
Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the South West Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and a heritage centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants and an excellent information centre. The property is also perfectly located for you to discover the many natural delights that North Devon has to offer such as Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ‘Dark Sky Reserve’, the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Hartland, Lynton & Lynmouth, Ilfracombe and the world-famous Clovelly Village with their awe-inspiring scenery and there are plenty of family-oriented places to visit including Exmoor Zoo, Milky Way Adventure Park, The Big Sheep farm-themed park and many others. And if Bude’s beaches aren’t enough for you then North Devon will leave you spoilt for choice with Saunton, Woolacombe, Croyde and Westward Ho! Beaches – some of the best in the country!

From your private driveway parking, enter into a spacious, bright and inviting space. Look for the windswept trees and they have bowed over time to the vast Atlantic storms, as you explore inlets, thousands of rockpools and spectacular scenery. You can reach the town of Bude within 15 minutes walk or 5 minute drive. Visit the open-air tide filled sea pool or stroll along the tranquil canal path. Surfing and paddleboarding are popular here too, whilst golf, tennis and fishing are all nearby. Further afield, Port Isaac, famed for a certain Doc Martin, mystical and mythical Tintagel, pretty Boscastle and for a lively experience Newquay can be explored and enjoyed to your heart’s content.
