It is so quiet here you would not know that you are only 0.7 miles from the city centre, ideal for a mini break to unwind or a longer stay. Everything is on the doorstep, you can walk into Truro and leave the car behind.

The living area is open plan with large windows looking out onto the 2-acre garden. When it is clear you will get glimpses of the sea at Gwithian beach, then in the evening take advantage of the beautiful skies from the decking or if its chilly from the living room. You have views over St Ives Bay from the living room and spectacular evening lights from St Ives Carbis bay and Hayle estuary. Angarrack is a small village nestled in a valley and is home to the imposing Angarrack Viaduct where the local train line crosses the Angarrack river. There are beautiful places to walk and explore in the area by taking the coast path and walking along to Godrey Lighthouse. Wander through the village along the river, or drive to Carn Brea and find the ruins of the old tin mines. Just over 2 miles away is Hayle, a town built on an estuary, with a variety of shops. The local beach Gwithian is 3 miles of golden sand surrounded by sand dunes, for your four-legged friends and Riviere Towans is dog friendly year-round.

If you want to go further afield, a trip to Marazion is essential, as at low tide you can walk across to St Michaels Mount from Marazion beach; it is advisable to book tickets if you wish to go into the gardens or castle. The beach has a seasonal dog ban during the summer months when dogs are allowed after 6pm and before 10am at this time of the year. Just a little further on is the most westerly town of Penzance, where you can wander winding streets, find subtropical gardens, and sit on the promenade admiring the view.

Truro is the capital of Cornwall and is 30 minutes’ drive and is a wonderful day out. The cobbled streets are full of small shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, and the cuisine available will cater for everybody’s requirements. Find small shops offering local produce, sample the local gins or wander around the large market. The beautiful Truro Cathedral dominates the city and is a favourite for visitors. After a busy day exploring, come back and relax and enjoy the solitude recharge for the next day’s adventures. The property has easy access so is suitable for guests with restricted mobility.

You don’t need to go far as you have a variety of shops including a supermarket, a gallery, tea rooms and cafés, plus three pubs, as well as a free public car park in the village. You can leave the car and catch the local buses; you may find this easier in peak summer as you won’t have to worry about parking!
The property has stunning sea views at the front of the property, and at the rear is a private courtyard which leads to the parking area. This is an ideal location to explore the rugged coastline of Cape Cornwall. The coastal paths and walks have remnants of the tin mining that was produced in the area. Geever Tin Mine in Pendeen is 2¾ miles away, well worth a visit, and is surrounded by fantastic scenery and coastal walks. Whilst you are here you can also visit the Pendeen Lighthouse. Just over 6 miles away is Land’s End, which is a brilliant day out for all ages. It’s the most westerly point of the UK and home to the famous signpost, John O’ Groats to Land’s End. Dogs on leads are welcome here, but not allowed in the indoor attractions. Five miles away is Sennen Cove, popular with families as the beach has a gentle slope and rock pools as well as being the most westerly point for surfers. It has a seasonal dog ban, but around the corner is Gwynver Beach which is dog friendly and much quieter. Just over 8 miles away is the stunning beach of Porthcurno, with turquoise water and white sand surrounded by cliffs making this one of the most beautiful beaches. Suitable for surfers and experienced swimmers only, due to the steep shelving, and not suitable for people with mobility issues since the trek down to the beach is accessed along a coastal path which is steep. If you are a fan of the TV series ‘Poldark’ you will be familiar with the landscapes, as there is a lot of history in the area including folk tales of witches at Kenidjack and piskies leading mortals astray. There is so much to do walking, surfing, cycling, water sports and pony trekking, if you play golf bring your clubs and have a game Cape Cornwall golf course a mile down the lane. Artists are drawn to the area throughout the year, and you will find local galleries and studios in the area. Whatever you choose to do, come back to Haford and either curl up in front of the wood burner or sit outside watching the amazing skies while you plan your adventures for the next day. Welcome to Chyvelyn, a newly converted studio suitable for two in the seaside town of Perranporth, on the north coast of Cornwall. The owners have even thoughtfully provided a welcome pack inclusive of tea, coffee, sugar and milk, along with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is so much to do in the area, known as the ‘gateway’, to one of Cornwall’s most spectacular beaches, the town has a much quieter feel than the neighbouring Newquay.
This is an ideal base to explore this part of the country, the beach is over 3 miles of golden sand, and on a calm day you a picture the smugglers coming in with their stolen goods. Ideal for all ages, and open to dogs all year round, our four-legged friends can run free whilst you enjoy a stroll or maybe take a dip in the sea. This is a very popular location for surfers as it is not quite as busy as the neighbouring Fistral Beach in Newquay, it offers great waves at Droskyn Point and at the western end of the beach, and there is an outside tap at the property for washing wetsuits and boards with drying hooks for your wetsuits. For those that enjoy history check out Perranzabuloe Millennium sundial on the cliffs below Droskyn car park, the views are stunning.
Ideal for a mini vacation, just over 8 miles from Newquay it is surrounded by smaller villages such as Goonhavern where the Saints Trail has just been opened to walkers and cyclists. Travelling west is the village of St Agnes, home to dog-friendly beaches, and spectacular coast paths it is a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, sample some of the delicacies at the local pubs and restaurants whilst you are here. Walkers you will be spoilt, the coast path between Newquay and St Agnes offers stunning views of rugged coastlines and sandy expanses, rich in mining history at Cligga Head you can still see minerals oozing out of the cliffs. From Perranorth you can walk west and see the remains of mining history or go east along the beautiful beaches.

Falmouth is home to a natural deep harbour on the Fal estuary, it has three beaches: the largest, Gyllyngvase, is just 10mins down the road, castle beach directly opposite and Swanpool, another popular beach for families with a café. It is just a 10-minute walk into town and Falmouth has so much to offer: cobbled streets, small independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, markets and many events during the year. Wander around looking for gifts, stop for refreshment in the square and people watch. Why not visit The Maritime Museum, head to the 16th-century Pendennis Castle, walk along the rugged coast paths or visit one of the beautiful gardens at Trebah, Glendurgan or Enys Gardens? The beauty of Falmouth is all year, a brisk stroll along the coast path is great for blowing away the cobwebs. If you want to venture further then the city of Truro is 12 miles away, with cobbled streets, variety of shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants to suit every culture or St Ives, a major arts centre.
At the beach there is SUP and canoe hire as well as scuba diving including instruction - why not explore the submarine wrecks just off the coastline? You can hire e-bikes from a stand nearby.
There is so much to do here, from visiting the cathedral to bowling or cinema, and the hotel has a restaurant and bar should you wish to stay in for the evening. Our four-legged friends are allowed on most beaches; check the schedule on each beach. Many restaurants and shops will also welcome them too!

Welcome to Sycamore Cottage a beautiful, light, and spacious Cornish cottage in the village of Praze-an-Beeble, in Camborne, ideally located for access to the north or south coast. Transport links are available so you can leave the car and take the bus. The property is on three storeys, on the ground floor is a lovely cosy living room leading to a kitchen and dining area which has the wood burner. The first floor has two bedrooms and family bathroom and on the second floor is a third bedroom with stunning views of the countryside. The private garden is enclosed and ideal for children and dogs.
This is an ideal location for families, friends, and couples, as you would expect there are stunning beaches all around. Gwithian Towans in Hayle is the largest beach and is 6.7 miles away from Hayle, great for families, as it is flat and sandy surrounded by sand dunes, when the tide goes out it leaves large pools great for paddling, it is a favourite with surfers, there is also a portion of the beach which is dog friendly all year round. Other beaches are Porthtowan, another large sandy beach backed by cliffs in St Agnes, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, ideal for families and a favourite for surfers, a smaller beach overlooking the harbour with cafés and shops and a fish and chip shop.
For the more energetic, there are numerous coastal walks where you can admire the spectacular scenery and wildlife or if you prefer, take one of the country walks, the National Trust has several houses and gardens with circular walks. You can hire bikes locally, there is a great cycle trail from Bissoe to Portreath or Wadebridge to Padstow. The area is rich in history Tin and Copper was mined locally and remnants of this can be found in the area, The Flat Lode follows part of the rail of the Basset Mine Tramway used to carry tin ore from the mines. You can do the circular walk or take the cycle route. Heartlands is a visitor attraction and Mining World Heritage Site, is a great day out for all ages. Whatever you do it is lovely to come back to Sycamore Cottage, sit in the peaceful garden and admire the skies whilst you plan the next day’s adventure.

Welcome to Willow Tree Cottage, a delightful two-bedroom cottage in the picturesque village of Angarrack, in West Cornwall, a mile from the town of Hayle. Famous for the imposing Angarrack Viaduct which still carries trains along the Cornish mainline railway, views of which can be seen from the property. The property sleeps four in two bedrooms and the large bathroom has a spa bath as well as a shower cubicle. After a long day’s walk you can choose a long soak or a refreshing shower. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen leading to the open plan living/dining room with a separate area for reading or doing puzzles. Doors open out to the large, enclosed garden where the owner has planted vegetable and salad beds for guests to pick and eat during their stay. The dining area is under a large canopy allowing the area to be used all year round, great for al fresco dining and watching the incredible night skies.
There are lots of walks in the area ideal for wearing out your four-legged friends. Choose from a stroll around the village to one of the many coastal paths, or take them to one of the many gardens in the area. Although most of the beaches have dog bans, some restrictions refer to between 10am- 6pm. Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes and Riviere Towans in Hayle are dog friendly all year round. As you would expect from Cornwall there are spectacular beaches abound. Hayle Beach is the nearest just over 3 miles away. Carbis Bay is just over 4 miles and St Ives just over 5 miles.
Paradise Park is a fun day out for all ages and is only ¼ mile away. It is a wildlife sanctuary, home to over 1000 birds and animals. The Jungle Barn is an indoor play area ideal for the children. If you want a full day out, head towards Penzance and stop at the ancient market town of Marazion. Stroll along the beach towards Penzance, enjoy a day on Marazion beach, take the children to the large play park and stroll around the village. When the tide is out you can walk across the causeway to St Michaels Mount, visit the gardens and have a tour of the castle. From Marazion you can head to Penzance, Newlyn and finally Mousehole. Walk along the promenade in Penzance, watch the fishermen unload their catch at Newlyn harbour, finally stop for a bite to eat in the small fishing village of Mousehole. When you get home you can pop to the pub next door for last orders!

Welcome to Barn Owl a converted four-bedroom barn sleeping eight, nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Carnkie near Redruth. This large property is ideal for extended families and friends who are looking for a base to explore this beautiful area. Upstairs are two double bedrooms with doors that lead out onto a conservatory, ideal for morning coffee or just enjoying peace and quiet. This looks over the enclosed garden, which is on two levels and all laid with chippings. On the ground floor is a large kitchen/dining room ideal for entertaining. Friends and family can sit around the table, which was originally a pasty making table. The living room is charming with a wood burner nestled into the feature granite fireplace, ideal on a cold winter’s evening where you can curl up with a hot drink and a good book, or watch one of your favourite programs on the large TV. There is a large lawned field in front of the parking area, with football goals ideal for a game, or just running around. The on-site laundry has two large washing machines and a microwave, shared between Barn Owl and and an additional one bedroomed cottage.
There is so much to do in the area including remnants of the copper mining industry that made Redruth one of the richest mining areas in Cornwall. If you go into Redruth town, just over two miles away, you will see the old clock tower, historic buildings and various statues celebrating the history of the area. The Great Flat Lode is within walking distance from the property and is ideal for walking and cycling. It follows part of the Basset Mine Tramway, which is approximately 6 miles long, where you will see some of the finest remains of engine houses and other structures as you wander around. The imposing Carn Brea rests at the top and if you climb up you will be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views, including parts of South Croft Mine which was the last Cornish mine to close.
If you are looking for beaches, Portreath is the closest just over 5 miles away, or Porthowan beach just over 6 miles away. If you want to go a little further then a visit to the pretty village of St Agnes with its beach and coastal walks is under 10 miles away.
