The property boasts a private hot tub which can be enjoyed all year round, and should the great British weather take a turn for the worse, you can retreat to your ‘Cave’. This has been built by the owner as an indulgent folly and is weatherproof and with a means of heating.
Stalmine is located approximately 5 miles from the small market town of Poulton-le-Fylde which has a good selection of shops, bars, and cafés. Other places that are worth a visit along the Fylde coast include Thornton Cleveleys with its old-fashioned charm and promenade, 7 miles, Fleetwood with its Freeport Outlet Shopping Village, 10 miles, and of course Blackpool, 9 miles, whose many attractions include The Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre, and Madame Tussauds.
Apart from being accessible for the coast, Carr End Barn A is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. Ribble Valley with its pretty villages is within an hour’s drive, and it’s an excellent choice for walks and country pubs. The Forest of Bowland, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, can also be reached within an hour’s drive. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are also very accessible by road and can be reached in an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 13 miles away and Preston is 19 miles. Beach 9¾ miles. The 3 miles of sandy beaches lead to the pretty coastal village of Sandsend. Robin Hood’s Bay (renowned as a bygone smugglers’ haunt), Runswick Bay and Staithes are all worth a visit. Inland, the moors are scattered with villages, many with excellent inns. Goathland itself offers an excellent choice of inns and restaurants, in addition to local shops, post office and cafés. The locals are justifiably proud of this region with its rich local folklore which tells of tricking the devil, mermaids, shipwrecked kings and princesses, and even an explanation of why gulls sound as if they’re crying. The owners have maintained many original features - exposed internal stone walls, beams and wonderful slate floors with underfloor heating throughout. All lovingly converted to a very good standard and each maintains many of there original features, including beams, tiled and wooden floors. The Old Stable (ref UK31779) has been expertly restored from stable sides which feature in the open plan living area. This area also has a series of small handmade stained-glass windows set high up on the back wall, which throw light onto the first-floor corridor. The Old Barn (ref UKC998) has two bedrooms on the ground floor along with the family bathroom, and the third bedroom on the first floor. The Cart Shed (ref UKC999) has the open plan living space on the first floor and all three bedrooms are on the ground floor, all three have their own TV. All three properties have underfloor heating throughout the ground floor which provides a cosy feel.

There are great walks round the farm, as well as along the riverbank and throughout the area. This location is also popular with cyclists, so be sure to bring your bikes and enjoy this delightful setting in style. Beverley is only 2½ miles away and is well known for its racecourse, minster, many boutiques and coffee shops. The coast at Hornsea can be reached within 10 miles, where visitors will find many of its traditional amusements and its promenade. To amuse your children, why not spend a day exploring the wildlife centre at Hornsea Mere?

York is a great place for a day out and is about an hour’s drive away. The Deep at Hull is one of the UK’s biggest aquariums and is well worth a visit and is about half an hour away.

The Old School House is a superb property situated in Horrabridge, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.
It’s an extremely spacious 5000 square foot, late-Victorian former schoolhouse, built in 1875 of local stone and slate. This beautiful seven-bedroom holiday home comfortably accommodates up to twenty two guests and presents a wonderful base for a group of family and friends to enjoy a luxurious and relaxing break. The property showcases two hot tubs, six bathrooms, bath tubs lavishly positioned in two of the bedrooms, a games room, large garden, and a children’s play area. The main part of the building on the ground floor has a magnificent large kitchen and dining area with seating for up to twenty guests, an island worktop, exquisite quartz countertops and plenty of appliances.
