West Middlewick Farm log cabins and a bungalow are located in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside, a short drive from the town of Tiverton. Set on high ground, these lovely properties make the most of their rural setting with great views of the surrounding countryside. Each property is well appointed and the layout ensures plenty of space for all, with a wood burner to complete that homely feel, as well as a large sitting-out area looking out over the surrounding fields and countryside. The farm features five cosy log cabins and a lovingly furnished bungalow. Each property has name that ties in with the local area and its history; Dartmoor (ref UK12537), Exmoor (ref UK12539), Otter (ref UK12540), Churn (ref UK12536), Dalch (ref UK12538) and The Old Creamery (ref UK12535), which is the bungalow. Dartmoor, Exmoor and Otter have enclosed gardens which are ideal for those bringing pets.

The Old Creamery is ideal for families or a group of friends who want to get together and relax. The property has been thoughtfully and tastefully furnished to ensure a relaxing stay. This lovely bungalow also offers an enclosed patio area, perfect for al-fresco dining.

The owners of the farm are keen for guests to experience life on the farm and there are opportunities to see the cows being milked, feeding the calves and collecting eggs from the chickens. There is also an on-site shop selling local meats and other produce as well as some of the freshest milk around. Guests can enjoy the surrounding land with walks around the farm. There are well-stocked lakes for those who fancy a relaxing day of fishing.

West Middlewick Farm is located just outside the Wiltshire village of Nomansland. With well-maintained roads, the farm is in a great position to get out and about and experience all this lovely area of Devon has to offer.

The popular market town of South Molton has a weekly farmers’ market and a variety of shops, antique and curio shops, pubs and restaurants. Barnstaple, 12 miles, has a theatre, cinema and leisure activities, and places of interest include the Museum of North Devon, Pannier Market, 14th-century St Anne’s Chapel and 18th-century Queen Anne’s Walk. Other family attractions in the area include RHS gardens at Rosemoor, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Kilarney Springs, Exmoor Zoo and the Dinosaur Park. Spectacular beaches at Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! are all within easy driving distance. Sailing, windsurfing and fishing can be enjoyed at Tamar Lakes and Wimbleball Lake, or visit the Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks for a fun filled day of exploration. Beach 33 miles. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Great Torrington as well as horse riding, fishing and golf, all available locally. Centred on a cobbled courtyard with a pond, the properties benefit from the use of their own private sitting-out area as well as a very large, well-maintained garden with stunning views across the countryside. There are some great walks from the farm up onto Exmoor which is designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve, and there are a number of walks on the estate that take you down through woods and along valleys by rivers and past lakes. The walks are mainly off road and a wide variety of wildlife can be seen, from the wild red deer that Exmoor is famous for, to the tiny but vibrant kingfisher. On the estate there are 2 spring fed lakes; these have a population of wild brown trout. Fishing on the lakes is available in the fishing season. Access is by foot or by 4x4 vehicle as they are both located along farm tracks unsuitable for cars. Please ask for directions to the lakes.

The village of North Molton, a short drive away, has a good local shop and pub. The larger town of South Molton has a wider range of shops and local amenities.
During your stay, there is plenty to see and do. Highlights on the moor include the pretty village of Withypool, and the the famous and ancient Tarr Steps. Climb to Exmoor’s highest point at Dunkery Beacon, and then pop into the Dulverton for an afternoon cream tea. There is extensive walking to suit all abilities across the moor, and towards the coastline there are dramatic, steep cliffs at Countisbury. In the Victorian towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, there is plenty to see and do, and the two towns are connected by the famous funicular cliff railway. Other local highlights include the Valley of the Rocks, and there is also access to the South West Coast Path. For good beaches, head up to Woolacombe, Putborough and Croyde. You will be able to enjoy some of the best beaches in the country with surfing and rock pooling. For those with young children, Exmoor Zoo, Combe Martin Wildlife Park and Watermouth Castle all provide an interesting and entertaining day out. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knighthayes. Golf, fishing, cycling and safaris across the moor are all available locally. Beach 15 miles.
