Slightly further afield are the unspoilt delights of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, including Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick, Southwold and the ancient burial ground at Sutton Hoo (National Trust). Saint Newlyn East, EnglandSet deep in the beautiful Cornish countryside, this Grade II listed, detached barn conversion is a real escape from the crowds, whilst being less than 3 miles to some of the county’s best beaches - most notably Crantock, Holywell Bay and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Gannel estuary in Newquay.
The area is full of tourist attractions, both man-made and natural. Osborne House was once Queen Victoria’s favourite residence and is now open to the public and well worth a visit, as are Carisbrook Castle, The Needles rock formations, Robin Hill park with acres of parkland, natural woodland, countryside gardens, adventures and special events, Ventnor Botanical Gardens and Shanklin Chine, a deep wooded gorge with streams and waterfalls. The model village at Godshill is also not to be missed as this gives a good overview of the island and its attractions, all in miniature of course.
