Two delightfully located cottages on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and in stunning countryside that share a cobbled courtyard. Llangadog itself, 3 miles, is a charming village with pubs and eateries. Close by is the spectacular Red Kite Feeding Centre and buzzards also abound. Salmon, sewin and trout are found in the crystal clear waters of the rivers and mountain streams; the area is idyllic for walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing and carriage driving. National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens are not to be missed. The ancient market towns of Llandovery, 3 miles and Llandeilo, 9 miles offer history and places to eat whilst Llandeilo also boasts an antique centre, interesting shops and castle. Pub 3 miles.

Pendegy Mill lies within a wooded valley on the edge of the rural village of Llanybri, nestled in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Sited a convenient distance from the historic coastal village of Llansteffan, it is just half a mile from the West Wales Coastal Path. These two beautiful cottages, situated next to the owners’ home, are the perfect base to explore all that Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire have to offer. Mill Cottage was a working water mill; the mill race running into the babbling stream flowing through the beautiful grounds out to the River Taff and into the Carmarthen Bay. These two Welsh stone barns, The Granary and Mill Cottage, have been lovingly restored and offer an idyllic holiday location. They have been finished to a very good standard throughout and have been thoughtfully furnished. On the ground floor is an open plan living space which is superb for social and family gatherings. Take in the coastal air outside in the shared lawns and garden - the perfect spot to dine al fresco and enjoy a delicious meal cooked on the BBQ.
Take a trip into nearby Llansteffan for freshly brewed coffee or travel back in time with a visit to Llansteffan Castle which is steeped in history, and boasts commanding views across the estuary of the River Towy and out towards the Gower Peninsula. Travelling west, a trip to Laugharne is a must. Here you can visit the house and writing shed of famous poet Dylan Thomas, or stop for a refreshing drink and meal at one of the local pubs he would often frequent. Further along this unique coastline is the village of Pendine, which boasts 7 miles of beautiful sandy beach where the land speed record was set in the famous car, Babs. The car was excavated from the Pendine Sands and can be seen today at the Museum of Speed in the town. Within a 40-minute drive you can visit Carmarthen, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, the famous walled seaside town of Tenby, or enjoy a day out at Wales’ largest theme park, Oakwood. Dove Cottage is the perfect spot to relax, unwind and take in everything this beautiful area has to offer. This lovely cottage was once a barn on this seven-acre smallholding, with horses, sheep, goats, chickens and bee hives, and guests are welcome to bring two well-behaved dogs. Upon entering the property you see the superb finish the owners have achieved with a spacious open plan kitchen/dining area, perfect for family meals with a modern contemporary galley style kitchen. The beamed living room offers the perfect space to relax on an evening or open the French doors and dine alfresco in the enclosed southfacing courtyard garden, it’s a real suntrap! The spacious first floor bathroom has been finished to a very high standard with a walk-in shower, and both bedrooms have been lovingly furnished to offer a high level of comfort.
Situated in the Gwendraeth Valley, around a mile from the quaint village of Pontyates and 4 miles from the historic market town of Kidwelly on the Carmarthen Bay, Dove Cottage offers a fantastic central location to discover this stunning part of West Wales. Ffos Las racecourse, Glyn Abbey Golf Course, National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Pembrey Country Park are all within a 30-minute drive. Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula offer a great day out for family and friends.
The Llanelli Wetland Centre is a must see, here you can hand feed the rarest Goose in the world, go bug hunting, see flamingos and enjoy bird watching from hides. The ancient town of Kidwelly is only a 5 minute drive away and is really worth a visit with plenty of shops and restaurants, and one of the finest preserved Norman Castles in Wales. Pembrey Country Park is around 10 minutes away and is fantastic for busy families and walker’s alike, complete with 500 acres of woodland, dry ski slope, toboggan run and the picture postcard Cefn Sidan Sands covering 8 miles of golden beach waiting to be discovered. Ty Isaf (meaning ‘lower house’), is situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park, just outside the Carmarthenshire village of Trapp. There are lovely views of the surrounding countryside and Carreg Cennen Castle from the cottage grounds. This lovely cottage has been luxuriously converted into an attractive holiday home and is just a stone’s throw from Carreg Cennen Castle which was listed by The Times in their top 20 walks within the UK.

From the terrace at the front of the cottage you enter via the sleek kitchen, which leads via two steps to the open plan living/dining area, with French doors out onto the rear patio and enclosed garden. The beams and high ceiling give a lovely light feel to the space and the stunning mezzanine bedroom with kingsize bed and TV overlooks the living room. There’s an additional bedroom on the ground floor with zip and link six foot bed. The spacious and well-appointed ground floor bathroom offers a Jacuzzi bath and a double size walk-in shower cubicle. The cottage has super fast fibre broadband, and outside there is a store with heating, perfect for keeping walking gear and boots dry and warm, and space for bikes too.
The village pub is ½ a mile away, Glynhir Golf Club is 2½ miles away, and the town of Llandeilo, 3 miles, has a great selection of restaurants, cafés and pubs as well as a varied selection of lovely independent shops, including a famous award-winning chocolatier also selling exquisite homemade ice cream, as well as the very well known deli. The town holds various events throughout the year, including a music festival, jazz festival and the unique Festival of Senses in November. On the edge of the town why not visit Dinefwr Castle, the lovely National Trust Dinefwr Park and Gothic Newton House?
