Families will love the Zipworld Fforest tree top nets, or you can venture to Blaenau Ffestiniog, home of the largest zip wire zone in the world, and the famous Ffestiniog Railway. In the other direction, just beyond the market town of Llanrwst, is Surf Snowdonia, the world’s first artificial surfing lagoon – worth popping in for a coffee to watch the surfing action! Further afield is historic Conwy with its majestic Edward I castle (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno offering the Great Orme and a whole host of family activities, from tramway and cable car rides, to the wonderful Venue Cymru theatre. For the more intrepid adventurer, Pen Y Pass route for Mount Snowdon is only 10 miles away, with the more popular Llanberis route is 16 miles distant. Further down the coast less than a half hour drive away is the walled harbour town of Conwy, home to the smallest house in Britain and the imposing UNESCO world heritage site of Conwy Castle.
