The nearby coast path follows the cliff tops to the picturesque fishing hamlet of Boscastle and onto the legendary seat of King Arthur at Tintagel’s ruined castle. With many pubs, restaurants and leisure activities in the area this is both the perfect family holiday location and base for touring the splendid Cornish coastline. Tintagel is 4 miles away with King Arthur’s castle clinging to the cliff top. The quaint fishing villages of Padstow, famous for TV chef Rick Stein’s restaurant, Boscastle and Port Isaac are a must. Port Isaac is also famously known as Portwenn, thanks to the long running TV series ‘Doc Martin’.
The nearby South-West Coastal Path passes through some of the most dramatic scenery of its route.
Away from the coast, explore the beauty of Bodmin Moor, a vast moorland peppered with fascinating granite Tors. The Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway chugs along for 6 miles and back and will delight children of all ages including steam train enthusiasts.
Alternatively the disused railway track now known as the Camel Trail cycle and footpath is within easy reach and stretches for 18 miles from Padstow to Wenford Bridge via Wadebridge and Bodmin. Shop 0.75 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This is a perfect location for visits to Tintagal, The Eden Project, tropical gardens and inland mining towns. Newquay is about 18 miles away. There are miles of sandy beaches popular with surfers and swimmers, and excellent golf courses north and south of the estuary. A supermarket and petrol station are only 1.25 miles away. The family friendly beach at Portreath has a wide expanse of sand and a small harbour area. There are good local shops, a bakery, two pubs and choice of take away. Head slightly south to Gwithian and the famous lighthouse at Godrevy sits proudly on its rocky outcrop. The area attracts seals, dolphins, basking sharks and is a great spot for bird watchers, with the wide estuary at Hayle and marshes at nearby Marazion. Take the scenic coastal train from St Erth into St Ives, home of the Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum. Here you will find a great choice of restaurants, bars, cafés and art galleries. The cottage’s location is fantastic for exploring both the quaint and scenic countryside as well as the fantastic beaches on the coast, with the nearest shop being just a short walk away in the hamlet of Tregaswith, and lots of pubs and eateries to choose from in St. Columb Major down the road.
Set off on a surfing expedition to Newquay’s nearby world famous Fistral Beach or Watergate Bay known for enjoying incredible waves all year round, with surf schools here to teach beginners all they need to know!
Choose from several beaches along this stretch of coast, including Mawgan Porth Beach, Great Western Beach, Lusty Glaze Beach, Towan Beach and Crantock Beach, all of which are dog friendly all year round, so you’re sure to find a spacious spot for your group!

Madison is a lovely Swedish designed, detached holiday property situated not far from the beach and benefiting from being just under 8 miles from the popular seaside town of Bude. The property can comfortably accommodate eight guests with all rooms on one level.
There are three bedrooms; one with a super kingsize bed, Smart TV and a lovely en-suite with a multi spray unit, double walk-in shower plus a bath and the other two both being twins (one with a handy sink in it). There’s also a family shower room, again with double walk-in shower. The living space consists of a comfortable living area with Smart TV, a separate dining room with a double sofa bed and a conservatory with seating, a telescope and access to the rear garden and patio. The kitchen/breakfast room offers everything you’ll need for your stay and the utility room has a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and coffee machine.
Outside is a large rear garden consisting of trees, lawn and a patio with a big dining table, perfect for outdoor family gatherings. Children will love running in and out of the trees and bushes and hidden away is a quiet sun lounging area. To the front of the property is an additional garden area and parking for up to five cars on the driveway. Then there’s the games rooms which can be accessed via the side of the building, where you will find table tennis, air hockey, darts, table football, a games console, a TV and even a toilet.
If it’s the beach life you’re looking for then you’ll be spoiled for choice with the nearest beach being just 3 miles away. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive including Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination. Bude is a fabulous coastal town and has something for everyone including great beaches, rockpools and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the Southwest Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and a heritage centre at Bude Castle.
Madison is also perfectly located for you to discover the many natural delights that North Devon has to offer such as Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ‘Dark Sky Reserve’, the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Hartland, Lynton & Lynmouth, Ilfracombe and the world-famous Clovelly Village. There are plenty of family-oriented places to visit including Exmoor Zoo, Milky Way Adventure Park, The Big Sheep farm-themed park and many others.

Lesnewth is a magical hamlet with an ancient church and a scattering of farms.
The Leat was completed just a few years ago and this beautiful barn conversion is a spacious and very well presented property. Set out in reverse style, the first floor has a large open plan living room, dining room and kitchen with a lovely high ceiling and exposed beams. The main living area is kept snug and cosy with a wood burning stove and is furnished with two comfortable sofa beds. All the bedrooms are spacious with pine floors.
