Dog-Friendly Cornwall Cottages

This spacious, detached, dog-friendly holiday cottage is set over three floors with three bathrooms, and has a lovely hand-built kitchen with dresser and large dining table. The living room with the woodburner gives way to a games room for the children with a playstation console and various board games. Set in a privileged position in the heart of this fishing village, made famous by the TV series Doc Martin, you are just 200 yards from an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, and the coastal path which passes close to the property. From here you can take in the breathtaking views across the Atlantic Ocean and walk north towards Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, or south towards Polzeath, with its sandy surfing beach. Rock is a 5 mile drive from Post Isaac, where you can enjoy the many watersports on offer. You can walk or cycle along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line that follows the Camel Estuary to the market town of Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. You can also take a ferry from Rock to Padstow, where you will find many shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s fish restaurant.This holiday cottage is ideally situated to visit the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer including The Eden Project, a zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium at Newquay, as well as many gardens and NT properties close by. Pennard is a spacious detached bungalow, built around a central courtyard, just two miles from the north coast and beaches of Portreath, Godrevy and Gwithian. The bungalow has four bedrooms, a large master bedroom with en-suite and a further main bathroom and additional wet room. An additional sitting room can be converted to use as an additional bedroom. Pennard is in a peaceful area and ideally located for visiting both the rugged north coast and the tranquil coves and creeks of the south coast. Close to Tehidy Country Park and Golf Course and the fabulous surf beach of Portreath. Easy access to the flat, private and enclosed rear garden and patio. Convenient for the A30 which enables visitors to explore the county with ease: Falmouth with the National Maritime Museum, St Ives with the Tate Gallery, Penzance with the nearby fishing harbour of Newlyn and Mousehole with its art galleries. Visit Lands End, the north coast, ideal for surfing enthusiasts, and the south coast perfect for sailing, fishing and coastal walks. Shops ¼ mile, pub 1 mile and restaurant 2 miles.

Polean Farm Cottages are located in Cornwall, down green lanes, off the Looe to Polperro road, just outside the village of Pelynt. The farm is set amongst rolling farmland and is less than 2 miles from the sea. All of the cottages are full of character and provide a cosy home-from-home. They have all been converted from original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century.
The Old Farmhouse (ref UK12895) is a historical, semi-detached farmhouse which has been tastefully renovated and is perfect for a large family get together or for two families to holiday together.
Little Owls Cottage (ref UK12896) is a detached barn named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building which can sometimes be heard at night. It is set in its own garden with glorious views across the farm and towards the village of Pelynt.
Rosebud Cottage (ref UK12897) and Shires Rest (ref UK12899) are pleasant, beamed cottages with lovely countryside views. Before being converted, both cottages were used to store hay in the winter and you can still see many of the original features.
Threpney Cottage (ref UK12898) is an imaginatively converted ’roundhouse’ and is full of character. The cottage was named after the old twelve sided three penny piece due to its shape.
Twinkles Cottage (ref UK12900) is a charming and spacious ‘upside down’, beamed cottage, with great views across the farm and surrounding countryside.
Waggoners Cottage (ref UK12901) is a delightful single-storey cottage, with its own garden and views of the front fields and the children’s play area at the rear. The cottage was named after the wagons that used to be stored in it and you can still see many of the original features of the barn.
The Mealhouse (ref UK12902) was originally used to store the feed or ‘meal’ for the pigs that resided in the pig sty which can still be seen across from it. The Mealhouse is detached and set slightly apart from the other cottages, offering uninterrupted views across the farm.
Polean Farm provides the perfect destination for a family holiday. The farm offers animal feeding each week day morning, where you may help bottle feed lambs (seasonal) and hand feed pigmy goats and chickens, as well as enjoy pony or tractor rides! The farm is also a working livery yard and children and parents often enjoy visiting the horses and ponies each day.
Guests have free use of an indoor heated swimming pool just a few minutes’ drive away. It’s perfect for families and children who want to splash around or those wanting to put in a few lengths and keep fit. Guests are also welcome to make free use of the nightly entertainment at the same local holiday complex which is just a few minutes’ drive from the farm. The entertainment is on every night and includes children’s entertainment, followed by grown up entertainment with top musicians, performers and comedians regularly appearing throughout the season. Children are allowed in the venue for the whole evening. Please note, the pool is not available during August due to overcrowding, and entertainment is not available November-March (except during school holidays). Some sessions in the pool (e.g. exercise classes) incur an additional charge. There are also occasional event weekends that also incur an additional charge. Fishing nearby. Beach 3 miles. This well-appointed house is set within its own grounds and comfortably accommodates nine guests. It’s ideal for groups of friends or families, and there’s plenty of parking on the driveway too.
In the kitchen hop onto one of the stools at the breakfast bar and chatter over a morning coffee, whilst in the open plan living space there’s plenty of seating for everyone. Put your favourite show on the large Smart TV and relax – there’s even a TV in the dining room too!
Patio doors lead out to the garden which is perfect for your four-legged friend or for the kids to burn off some energy. Whether you prefer a refreshing shower or a nice soak in the bath to start or end your day, there’s a choice of en-suites in four of the five bedrooms...take your pick!
The picturesque village of Charlestown with shops, restaurants and bars is a short walk away, but what it’s famous for is its harbour and tall ships. One visit to this area of South Cornwall won’t be enough.
