Holly’s Lodge is situated in the upper Eden Valley nestling between Appleby and Kirkby Stephen at the foot of the Cumbrian Pennines, and conveniently located adjacent to and just off the trans-Pennine trunk road (A66). This makes the location an excellent touring base for exploring the Yorkshire and Durham Dales to the east, and the Lake District National Park to the west.
This detached holiday lodge provides accommodation of a very good standard, is tastefully furnished, very comfortable and well equipped, enjoys countryside views and a lovely setting on a no through lane within a small, rural caravan park. The park encourages wildlife and has a conservation pond with a wide variety of birds in the surrounding woodlands and there are frequent visits from roe deer.

This is a wonderful base for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. Less than a mile away, main roads give access to the myriad attractions and stunning landscapes of the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales and County Durham, and the shops, pubs and restaurants of Brough are also only 1 mile away. The larger town of Kirkby Stephen, 5 miles, has a supermarket and variety of gift shops, cafés, a tourist information office, library and station for the Carlisle/Settle railway. Set quietly on the edge of a small pretty village at the foot of Lake Windermere, this delightful cottage exudes character and romantic charm. One of a pairand heavily beamed, it is superbly presented with its garden, patio area and furniture. Surrounded by stunning countryside, Windermere Lake is just 2 miles and the Central Lakes and Fells can be reached within a short drive. To the west lies Ulverston with its cobbled streets, arts and crafts and weekly markets. Coniston, Grange-over-Sands and Bowness-on-Windermere, all 12 miles. Shop 2 miles. Excellent pub in village.

This lovely holiday cottage overlooks the river and harbour with 3 miles of sandy beach. A quiet village with a coastal lagoon, water skiing, sea and fly fishing, golf, horse riding, and walks nearby. Tour the Lake District along quiet roads, lack of crowds and peaceful setting. Cockleshell Cottage is situated in Haverigg, adjacent to the harbour, the sandy beach, and the Cumbrian Coastal Way. A terraced holiday home in a great location being by the sea with its extensive sandy beaches yet a short drive into the Lake District with its many attractions.
Many walks, Hodbarrow RSPB reserve and even cable tow water skiing (in season) are on your doorstep. There is a horse riding centre 3½ miles away with hill and beach riding available for all ages and abilities. Sea fishing from the beach at Silecroft is only 4½ miles to the north. Muncaster Castle with its gardens and Bird of Prey Centre or a trip on Ravenglass Steam train (dogs welcome) into the heart of the Lake District make good days out. Barton Hall Farm can be found just outside Pooley Bridge, the village at the outfall of Lake Ullswater. Set in the countryside on a traditional working farm, this area offers some of the most wonderful landscapes in the region from the privacy of a secluded rural setting. It is minutes from Lake Ullswater, with its walking, water sports and ponderous steamers making their regal-like journeys up and down the lake in the shadow of the majestic fells. This area offers many forms of recreation, whatever season you choose to visit. All three cottages have been tastefully converted from original old stone farm buildings; and wherever possible the original features have been retained. Old pitch pine beams stretch unhindered through bedrooms and across stairways and the local slate and sandstone are in evidence throughout. Guests are welcomed with fresh flowers, along with well furnished comfortable holiday accommodation, wood-burning stoves and well-equipped kitchens. For good walking, fells nearby include High Street range, 1 mile, and Helvellyn, 10 miles. The market town of Penrith, 5 miles; whilst the attractions of Keswick are 14 miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.
