Treadle Cottage is nestled in the middle of the popular market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, which has an excellent choice of shops, restaurants and traditional inns. The cottage has been furnished to a very good standard throughout and contains everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. It is the perfect place to explore the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks and you will begin to unwind and relax as soon as you arrive. The property is over two levels and has two bedrooms, open plan living/dining area with log burner as well as a sun terrace where you can relax outside with a book or magazine whilst enjoying the views overlooking the rooftops of Kirkby Lonsdale and the countryside views beyond. There are plenty of things to do in Kirkby Lonsdale and the surrounding areas, including countryside/riverside walks and cycling. Whether you visit the restaurants and traditional inns in the town, take a walk around the Ingleton Waterfalls Trails or explore the local caves, there is something to do for all ages.

It is evident as soon as you enter Hillside House that it is filled with character and charm. There is room to hang coats and kick off your shoes in the generous hallway. A cosy living room with a bay window, fireplace, comfy seating for eight and a TV with Freesat box is located at the front of the property, an ideal spot to wind down after a day of exploring. The dining room to the rear of the property features antique furniture including a grandfather clock and sideboard, a dining table for eight and an antique fireplace. This makes the room the ideal setting for family gatherings. From here there is direct access to the Lakeland kitchen, which is a mixture of country style and modern conveniences.
The first flight of stairs leads to a spacious bathroom with a full-size bath and an electric shower, and there is also an additional shower room. To the rear of the property is a good-size double bedroom, which features an original fireplace. To the front of the property is a second large double bedroom which features a couple of reading chairs. Lots of natural light is brought in by the large sash windows. Two more flights of stairs lead to two further bedrooms, the first of which is a spacious double overlooking St. Mary’s Church and the fells beyond. Another bedroom is located at the front of the property with feature wall panelling. Kirkby Lonsdale is a small and relatively unspoilt market town situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town is notably home to the 14th century Devil’s Bridge, as well as Ruskin’s View. Cannondale has been fully refurbished in 2019 to provide a comfortable and stylish haven, four bedrooms with a super kingsize bed (two with zip and link option to be made up into twin bedrooms), all with their own en-suite. One of the bedrooms is found on the ground floor, the ideal option for the less mobile. The large living room offers a generous space and comfort, with a cosy wood burner, large TV and French doors leading out onto the enclosed garden and patio. There is also a spacious open plan kitchen/dining room with French doors also leading out into the garden. There is comfortable space for eight to live and dine together, whilst offering privacy and freedom for everybody in each bedroom.

Situated inbetween Windermere and Bowness, you are just a short walk from either, ideal for enjoying the local shops and eateries or to experience a trip out on Lake Windermere. The property is also ideally located within an easy drive or cycle to one of the many hundreds of walking routes or excursions that are enjoyed in the south Lakes and the Lake District on a daily basis.
