Set in beautiful surroundings at New Mills Trout Fishing Park, why not try your hand at fly fishing? The lake is home to rainbow, tiger, blue and brown trout – probably the true fisherman’s ideal holiday destination. For the novice, try your hand at the fun fishing pond and bag yourself that ’I’ve caught my first fish’ experience, with all tuition and equipment provided. Also on-site to enjoy are giant games including Connect 4 and chess alongside a Fairy Trail and pond dipping, or simply visit the children’s play park and tackle shop. Please note costs for our fishing and other activities are separate and pre-booking is advised.
Lake View Cottage has a small patio area overlooking the fishery and boasts a private 34-jet hot tub for up to five guests. Enjoy the starry night sky while the warmth of the hot tub bubbles away. Another aspect perfect for socialising is the open-plan living space, seamlessly blending dining and quality time in one wholesome space. For additional comfort, both bedrooms invite you with zip and link beds, meaning flexible arrangements are offered ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep for friends and families alike.
The cottage is situated only 1 mile away from the picturesque market town of Brampton and further afield is the lovely city of Carlisle. Ullswater and the Northern Lakes are just over half an hour’s drive away. This is the ideal base for a holiday full of adventure and exploring, and no visit is complete without a visit to the famous Hadrian’s Wall. There are also lovely riverside walks close by. Nestled in the small village of Carr Bank near Arnside, an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It offers a secluded elevated location for a holiday away from it all, yet with easy access to the Lake District, Arnside and Silverdale. Attached to the owner’s home, the bungalow features a large kitchen/dining area with all the modern conveniences and everything you need to prepare a hearty meal to share around the table. An electric fire ensures a cosy atmosphere in the room and makes it a comfortable place for socialising. This sun room is located directly off the kitchen/dining area at the rear of the property. It is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the sunshine when the weather gets colder. Please note the sun room overlooks the owners garden which is reserved solely for the use of the owners family. Also to the rear of the property is a spacious living room with plenty of comfortable seating and a Smart TV with Netflix and Playstation 4.
The hallway also leads to two spacious bedrooms, one with a kingsize zip and link bed and the other with a twin bed. The stunning family bathroom has a large walk-in shower, bathtub, twin sinks, toilet, heated towel rail, and LED mirror. For convenience, there’s an additional cloakroom with a toilet and basin off the hallway. Outside, to the front, is a small patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. There is on-site parking for one car and further parking on the road. Situated in the South Lakes area of the Northwest of England and set within the beautiful Morecambe Bay, this area is frequently described as a ‘hidden gem.’ A remarkable and unique area, it is a haven for nature lovers, bird watchers, ramblers and cyclists. Carr Bank is located on the edge of an Area Of Natural Beauty, meaning there is an abundance of walks literally on the doorstep, with the infamous Arnside Knott offering spectacular views over Morecambe Bay only a short drive away. This area is also perfect for cycling, an ideal mode of transport to take in all the wonderful sights this area has to offer. Being very close to the modest seaside resort of Arnside, this stunning property is perfectly placed to enjoy all the local area has to offer. Arnside village has several cafes serving great coffee and cake, a few independent shops to browse, a bakery, and a couple of pubs serving pub grub and good ales too. If you love fish and chips, a local fish and chip shop, which is extremely popular with the locals, is a 5-minute drive away. You can sit on the pier and take in the spectacular sunsets from here.
A local nursery is close by with a garden centre, growing nursery, food hall, home and lifestyle shop, gift shop, garden cafe and wood-fired kitchen, all on one site! The local caravan park at Silverdale is also worth a visit, on rainy days you can enjoy a gentle swim, sauna and steam room, for ultimate holiday relaxation. Conveniently located between Kendal and Carnforth, the medieval market town of Milnthorpe is a 10-minute drive away, here you can find a supermarket, petrol station, four takeaways and two pubs. Levens Hall and Gardens is a 20-minute drive from the property, is famous for the world’s oldest topiary gardens with a wonderful café, and is also very popular with locals, serving delicious home-cooked food. Being not too far from the A6, the rest of the Lake District including Bowness and Windermere are a mere 30 minutes’ drive away and the Yorkshire Dales, with the popular market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and the Water Fall Trail at Ingleton, is equidistant. Morecambe and Lancaster can also be reached within 30 minutes.
You are welcome to bring your dog. If your dog enjoys relaxing on a sofa, the owners ask that you provide your own dog blankets to place on the sofas to protect them. They would also ask that at the end of a muddy walk, you clean your dog (towels are provided) in the porch area before allowing the dog into the rest of the property.

All five lodges are open plan and offer ground floor accommodation, with one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a walk-in shower. There is a private hot tub and terrace for each lodge, overlooking landscaped grounds, and parking for two cars.
If you plan to explore, there are lots of activities right on your doorstep. The South Lakes Safari Zoo is only a 10-minute drive away and is one of Cumbria’s most popular tourist attractions! Ulverston is just a 5-minute drive away, a busy market town inundated with old historic buildings and cobbled streets, and is the start of the 70-mile Cumbrian Way.
You are spoilt for choice on places to explore in the surrounding areas. Barrow-in-Furness is a short drive away, a large town with plenty of shopping, bars, restaurants, cinema and a golf course. Both Walney Island and Newby Bridge are a 20-minute drive away, and at Newby Bridge you’ll find the home of the Lakes Aquarium and Windermere Lake cruises, offering boat rides across England’s largest lake.
Ulverston is a great base for a gateway into the lakes so whether you are planning to enjoy walking a few of the 214 Wainwright fells, cycling the fantastic roads nearby or driving over to many other popular towns around Cumbria including Ambleside, Coniston, Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere, you are spoilt for choice! This stunning cottage is found in the quiet hamlet of Staffield, located in the wonderful Eden Valley, a tranquil part of Cumbria, close to both Carlisle and Penrith and also Hadrian’s Wall, the Northern Pennines, the western fringe of the Yorkshire Dales and the Scottish Borders.
Staffield Cottage accommodates up to four guests, providing a great base for couples, small families or friends alike with a king size bed, and a zip and link twin bedroom, which can be made into an kingsize bed if needed.
Pooley Bridge and Glenridding at Ullswater is only a short drive away, with Keswick and Lake Derwent Water being only a short easy drive away from there. The picturesque unspoilt villages of Kirkoswald, Armathwaite, Lazonby and Great Salkeld are all close by and they each offer amenities for you to enjoy. Local shops and tea rooms, as well as great pubs and restaurants abound. From Staffield Cottage you can plan a multitude of activities to do from cycling to fishing, walking to ballooning. The choice is endless.

Wild Duck is a well presented, end-terrace cottage in the quiet village of Swarthmoor, located on the Furness peninsula. The open plan living space provides a comfortable and airy feel, with a large comfy sofa and armchair to relax in - the wood burner is the focal point and a warming welcome on those cooler evenings. A well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to start the day with a hearty breakfast or an evening meal, but with many excellent restaurants nearby you could be very easily tempted out for the evening. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms laid out over the first and second floor, with a good-sized family bathroom with bath and separate shower on the first floor. Young children have been well catered for, too, with a wicker crib, cot, toddler bed (as well as bedding for these) and a stairgate and highchair. Outside to the rear is a private and enclosed patio garden, a perfect place to have a drink and enjoy the sunsets on those long summer evenings with friends.
Located just on the outskirts of the popular town of Ulverston, 2 miles, home to many old pubs, restaurants, shops and a regular market, explore the many cobbled streets with small and interesting shops and historical architecture, it is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and the town’s Laurel and Hardy museum is well worth a visit.
Walkers will enjoy the start of the Cumbria Way from here, a relatively low level walk that follows paths and tracks along valleys and breathtaking passes. Blue Heron Lodge is a fully renovated modern barn conversion caught in the middle of very large grounds with a summerhouse and hot tub, the noise of Swindale Beck bubbling away at the bottom of the large private garden and all this shadowed by the amazing elevated views of Brough Castle in the next field.

Shore Meadow is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Set just 150 yards from a beautiful, secluded sandy beach and enjoying an idyllic position in this tranquil, south-western corner of the Lakes where the mountains almost meet the sea. This semi-detached cottage is a short walk from the peaceful village centre of Silecroft. It has stunning westerly views over the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man and easterly views to Black Combe Fell. The beach extends for miles in both directions and is perfect for dog walking, lazy days building sandcastles or taking to the sea for fishing.

Shore Meadow has two double bedrooms and has been furnished and equipped to provide a really comfortable stay. Nearby attractions include Cumbria Heavy Horses, a BHS approved riding centre offering fell and beach rides on Clydesdale and Shire horses; water sports centre at Port Haverigg; South Lakeland Wild Animal Park, home to tigers, lions, white rhino, giraffes and lots of monkeys; historic Muncaster Castle, with stunning gardens and many seasonal events, also home of the World Owl Trust, and Ravenglass and Eskdale Narrow Gauge Railway, where you can ride a steam train through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lake District.
