    A short drive will take you over the border to Scotland, to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway and the stunning Solway Coast. The beautiful border city of Carlisle is a short drive away or a scenic trip on the Settle to Carlisle railway line, where you can visit the castle or just take in some retail therapy at some of the high street shops.
