    There are miles of walks including along the South West Coastal Path, over Dartmoor and riverside walks. Boat trips in the bay are bookable from the harbourside and piers, and small boats and pedaloes for hire from most beaches. There is an attractive list of sailings for trips by sea or river bookable at Princess Pier, Haldon Pier and the harbourside, while there is unequalled sailing and yachting in Torbay, and the regattas in August are a superb spectacle. The Royal Torbay Yacht Club is at Beacon Terrace, a short walk away, and for those wishing to learn more there are two sailing clubs in Torquay. Sea fishing is available from Princess Pier and Haldon Pier, or from rocks and beaches around the coastline. The beautifully situated 18 hole course at Torquay Golf Club is on Petitor Road, Saint Marychurch.
    Going further afield, you can ramble across the wilds of Dartmoor National Park, see the Dartmoor Ponies, and visit places of interest such as Widdecombe, while Totnes and Dartington Hall are less than 30 minutes away. Totnes is an Elizabethan river town with an ancient castle, and Dartington Hall has glorious gardens and world famous arts and music activities, making this an essential place to visit. Dartmouth, Dartmoor, Salcombe, Exeter and Plymouth can all be easily reached. Paignton Zoo is only a mile or so away and there are river and sea cruises, and steam train trips nearby. In addition to this, the South Hams has some of the most beautiful beaches you’ll find anywhere. Whether walking and exploring the rugged Dartmoor landscape with its great granite tors and Dartmoor ponies, climbing, letterboxing, horse riding, golfing, or just having a very relaxing break, Dartmoor has it all.
    Exeter is the regional capital for culture, leisure and shopping. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and just a few miles from the sea, it brims with colourful character and offers a delightful mix of attractions, restaurants and shops in a setting of architectural splendour. Enjoy heritage, arts, festivals and award-winning locally produced food and drink, or venture beyond the city and explore the Jurassic Coast of East Devon and the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Take a trip to Torbay, known as the English Riviera due to its unique micro-climate; take the ferry across to Dartmouth and the neighbouring town of Brixham, set on and across the River Dart. At the mouth of the river are Kingswear and Dartmouth Castles with the rocky waters of the estuary lapping at their feet. Exeter and its stunning cathedral is just a 10-mile drive, and Exeter Racecourse and Haldon are not far away. A nature trail and cycle route can be found in the Forestry Commission, 7 miles. As Dartmouth can get very busy due to its popularity, it is nice to find somewhere that feels relaxing and peaceful but without being too far away from the action.
    The property is suitable for couples and families looking to take a break away in the area. Upon entering Hideaway, you will see a touch of opulence throughout. With state of the art wall-mounted Smart TV in the living area and comfortable corner sofa to the high end appliances in the newly fitted kitchen and ’Tempur’ mattrress in the master bedroom.
    From the property as a base, there are many different things to do such as visiting the Royal Naval College, Collaton fishacre and Greenway House amongst other national trust properties. There are family friendly days out such as ‘Woodlands’ theme park which is only 3 miles away or why not take the ‘Round robin’ tour taking you to a variety of local towns via different modes of transport for a full day of sightseeing. Of course there is the main town of Dartmouth itself just 2 miles away. Dartmouth has an array of shops, pubs and restaurants but the nearest of these being 0.5 miles and 1.7 miles away.
