Sit and enjoy the sunshine whilst having breakfast, and for those colder nights, cosy up by the wood burner in the comfortable living room - the best of both worlds. Quietly situated in this small farming village of Wiggonby, this semi-detached house is within easy reach of both Wigton and Carlisle, making it an ideal base to relax in or visit the many attractions nearby, with Watchtree nature reserve next to village. The Lake District National Park is within a 30-minute drive giving you access to the many fells for which the area is famous. If something more relaxing is what you are after, then why not take a boat trip on Derwentwater or Lake Windermere and sit back and enjoy the view? If you prefer the coastline, a 30-minute drive will take you to Allonby beach, a superb, long sandy beach in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Solway Coast, with spectacular views across the Solway Firth to the mountains of southern Scotland. The market towns of Cockermouth and Keswick are well worth a visit too! At Townend Cottage you will be spoilt for choice for what to do in the area. Beach 16½ miles. The Coach House is a superbly equipped barn conversion situated on the edge of the delightful market town of Brampton. This quirky semi-detached property has an upside down layout with the spacious living/kitchen/dining area on the first floor. Everything has been thought of to ensure you have a relaxing stay, from the sumptuous beds with M&S feather pillows and duvet, and luxurious toiletries, to the cosy gas fire and large TV with over 200 DVDs in the sitting room, home from home in every sense of the word. The dining area has a 6-seater oak table as well as a selection of books. In 2018 the property was given a VisitEngland award of excellence. The awards celebrate the very best in English tourism, championing excellence in best practice and customer service. The property is decorated with a Christmas theme during the festive season, and also boasts convenient off road private parking for 2 cars on the drive in front of the barn gate.

Take a stroll into the centre of town and sample the many good restaurants and pubs. A must is a trip to Talkin Tarn Country Park, 2 miles from Brampton with its 65-acre lake set amidst 120 acres of farmland and woodland. The Tarn is an ideal place for recreation or a quiet stroll through the mature woodlands. No stay in Cumbria is complete without visiting Hadrian’s Wall, the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. It stretches 73 miles from Wallsend, Newcastle across the neck of England to the Solway in north west Cumbria. Within Cumbria are Banks Turret, near Brampton and Birdoswald Roman Fort a few miles away. Set in beautiful surroundings at New Mills Trout Fishing Park, why not try your hand at fly fishing? The lake is home to rainbow, tiger, blue and brown trout – probably the true fisherman’s ideal holiday destination. For the novice, try your hand at the fun fishing pond and bag yourself that ’I’ve caught my first fish’ experience, with all tuition and equipment provided. Also on-site to enjoy are giant games including Connect 4 and chess alongside a Fairy Trail and pond dipping, or simply visit the children’s play park and tackle shop. Town Foot Farm is a beautiful detached former Farmhouse located in the heart of the delightful small village of Hayton with Brampton and Carlisle close by.

South facing the courtyard catches the sun all day long so just perfect to start your day. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, one en-suite and one is the perfect little room for the kids. With its enclosed rear courtyard Town Foot Farmhouse welcomes dogs, the more the merrier so please just ask!
Hayton is a quiet little village with a popular village Pub which serves food at the weekends and the village is surrounded by the rolling Cumbrian countryside. Three miles away is the market town of Brampton where you will find a variety of quaint little shops and some excellent pubs and restaurants. Hayton is ideally placed to enjoy the many attractions close by, none more so than the iconic Hadrian’s Wall where you can walk stretches of this World Heritage Site.

Whilst you have the tranquillity at the property you are only minutes by car from the M6 thereby ideally placed to enjoy one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. From here you can not only enjoy the beauty of this area but also a quick drive will take you over the border into Scotland with its miles of dramatic coastline.
Whilst staying at Solway Marsh View explore the many delights of Cumbria, a must is a visit is the beauty of the Lake District National Park with its stunning mountains and lakes.
