Ideal for walkers, couples, and dog owners, it is within an easy stroll of fields, footpaths and The Limestone Way. Set on top of the highest hill for many miles around, the views are outstanding and the walking and cycling extremely rewarding. There are hundreds of miles of trails which start straight from the barn, it is an ideal opportunity to park-up, put the car keys away and just relax! Bailey’s Barn is a great base from which to explore the beauty and majesty of the region’s peaks, dales and rivers. With its own quirky traditions such as Bonsall Carnival, International Hen Racing Championships, ancient buildings and History Trails, Bonsall itself is a delightful find with two pubs and a lovely tearoom all within half a mile or so. Matlock Bath is a well known resort on the River Derwent. Visit the popular Heights of Abraham cable cars, enjoy fish and chips, and numerous entertainments throughout the year. The Matlock Bath illuminations and firework display are especially popular in autumn bringing in the crowds and lighting up the sky. A little further afield, Chatsworth House and Bakewell provide a wonderful day out, exploring the local businesses that line the streets. A short walk will take you into the small friendly town of Whaley Bridge where you’ll find food serving pubs, some dog friendly, cafés and restaurants. 5 minutes the other way is the famous Buxwoth Basin and pub.
