This holiday cottage is spacious, yet intimate, and commands beautiful views of the countryside surrounding the peaceful village of Sheldon, only 3 miles from the market town of Bakewell. The oldest part of the cottage dates from 1800 and has been converted skilfully into a living room with tasteful furnishings, original beams, exposed stone walls and a large fireplace with a multi-fuel burner. There is a large dining area adjacent to the living room and a kitchen which leads into a south-facing conservatory, ideal for breakfast and relaxing. There is a downstairs toilet and utility area. Upstairs has three large double bedrooms (two with en-suite showers) and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a 6ft zip and link bed which can be used as a double bed or two single beds. The cottage has Sky TV and wi-fi internet access. Only a few steps from the main cottage is a games room and studio apartment. The large, heated games room has a pool table and table tennis table as well as a drying room for wet clothes and boots. Above the games room is the studio with sitting room and a double bedroom with en-suite. The sitting room has a sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only) and a TV. The cottage stands in an enclosed garden which has driveway parking for four vehicles, flower beds and two lawns. The larger lawn overlooks the nearby fields and hills, and is ideal for ball games. It adjoins a stone-flagged patio area with a built-in barbecue and outside table and chairs. Sheldon has a pub close to the cottage which is friendly and provides good food. The village is within easy reach of Bakewell and Ashford-on-the-Water, and is an excellent starting point for walking, exploring the countryside and visiting Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, the caves around Castleton and many other attractions in the Peak District. This delightful farm holiday cottage, dates back to the 1640s and adjoins the owner’s impressive home which stands in its own grounds and mature gardens. Featuring exposed beams and sloping ceilings, with pretty windows at floor level in the bedroom, enabling you to enjoy the pleasant views from your bed, the cottage is situated on the edge of the unspoilt Peak village of Monyash, just 4 miles from Bakewell, the delightful market town at the heart of the Peak District. Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

The accommodation at Bee Keepers cottage is spaced over a single storey and offers light, bright accommodation with beautiful gardens and views of the rolling Derbyshire countryside.

Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Crich tramway museum are a short drive away. Local towns include Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. Derby and Nottinghamshire are a 20-minute drive.

The location is popular with walkers who enjoy the beautiful walks and trails straight from the doorstep.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

Take a stroll through the local nature reserve, visit Chesterfield town centre known for its iconic crooked spire, where you can enjoy shopping and cafés. There are many different walks to be enjoyed around the entirety of the Peak District. Through the fields alongside unused railway tracks and hilly trails, there’s plenty of countryside to see along the way whichever route you take. You can easily fill your time in Derbyshire with activities to suit all your party with the knowing of having Red Robin Cottage to return to at the end of the day to relax and unwind in comfort.

With its own quirky traditions such as Bonsall Carnival, International Hen Racing Championships, ancient buildings and History Trails, Bonsall itself is a delightful find with two pubs and a lovely tearoom all within half a mile or so. Pyegreave Cottage is full of character, being a converted 300-year-old stable it has a unique layout and stunning views downs Combs Valley and Combs Moss.
On the ground floor of the cottage is the fully equipped kitchen where you can whip up a nice breakfast before you head out for the day, there is a breakfast bar with two stools with window that gives views down the valley. The shower room is located on the ground floor with shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Upstairs you will step into the living room, with stunning high ceilings and original beams, this room is nice and light with comfortable seating, Smart TV and electric wood-effect fire, there is a dining table with four chairs as well as two single sofa beds for additional sleeping. The bedroom is located on the first floor also and has a kingsize bed which can be made up as two singles if required. Outside the property there is parking for up to two cars, and a back garden with bistro set and a fire pit so you can watch the sun set, it is the perfect peaceful spot to enjoy a drink and the end of the day or a coffee in the morning whilst planning your exciting day ahead over breakfast.
Pyegreave Cottage sits on the hillside on the outskirts of Combs village, located close to Buxton, Castleton and Edale, which are all fantastic walking routes to explore. The stables formed part of one of the old barns on Pyegreave Farm, which in 1840 was purchased at a local auction by Florence Nightingales Father who lived in the village a considerable amount of time. One of the most popular attractions in Combs is the reservoir, it is surrounded by beautiful scenery and offers opportunities for walking, fishing and birdwatching, the area is also popular for cyclists who enjoy the challenging hills. There is a local pub in the village which serves delicious home cooked food and real local ales. Pyegreave Cottage is a charming and peaceful property that offers a glimpse into the history and natural beauty of the Peak District, the UK’s first National Park.

Yew Tree Cottage is located in the quaint village of Holymoorside, one of the many hamlets in Chesterfield. It is home to two fantastic pubs, one of which is owned by Peak Ales meaning it has fantastic local beers on offer, and the second pub’s head chef featured on the Great British Menu and offers fantastic food options. There are ample walks directly from the door or a little further you can reach trails taking you to Linacre reservoir or into Matlock which is the next town on. The town is full of high street shops, great restaurants and there are many tourist attractions locally such as Chatsworth House which is only 6 miles away.
As you arrive at Yew Tree Cottage you are greeted by a fantastic garden with stunning views over the village and the countryside, enter the cottage into the spacious, social space the kitchen offers, with breakfast bar, dining table, sofa and skylight windows with an unspoilt view of the sky, there is a snug just off from here with comfortable sofa, TV and log burner. Also on the ground floor is a shower room which has a handy storage area for boots and coats and the main living room offering comfortable seating, a large TV with Sky and a second wood burner. Up the stairs to the first floor is the family shower room, a single, spacious bedroom and also a twin bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe. Here at Water Bailiffs Lodge you have the best of both worlds: wonderful walks in the surrounding open Derbyshire countryside, and for days out, you are within close proximity to all the major tourist attractions the Derbyshire Dales have to offer. Certainly an idyllic rural retreat, yet the historic spa town of Matlock is only a mile away with its award-winning park where band concerts can be enjoyed on a Sunday summer afternoon, and where an annual Christmas Victorian market held is in December. Matlock Bath, named the little Switzerland of England, is just a couple of miles away and the famous illuminations are held here each year in September. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Located in Shirley a small attractive village, comfortably grouped around a lovely church just off the A52 Ashbourne to Derby road. Brynfields Cottage is a perfect retreat when you just need to spend some time in nature. You’ll be in a perfect location to explore Derbyshires Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty but taking the car to Ashbourne for some cultural sightseeing won’t take you too long either.
After you’re done with all that fresh air, this home-from-home will welcome you into its cosy and relaxed embrace, consisting of a beautiful balance between the old and the new. With a large garden, dining outdoors will become a comfortable routine in the summer, but you might be able to get a few nice days in the colder months as well. This cottage is great at bringing everyone together in the dining area or by the wood burner. At night, retreat to the quiet bedrooms for some well-deserved rest and prepare for a new day of exploring the naturally beautiful surroundings.
Nearby Ashbourne is the perfect example of an English market town, boasting an eccentric street plan, narrow, cobbled alleys, old market stalls and many fine coaching inns. In its heyday, during the 18th century, the town was a fashionable, social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer with a good selection of restaurants, whilst being regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters, but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by offering good walking and cycling, whilst Alton Towers is just 25 minutes away!
