The Signal Box is an unusual property that offers something special, and just a little bit different. There are superb views through the trees, across the river and to the valley beyond. With direct access to almost 4-acres of outdoor space, there is an extensive network of private footpaths to explore at your leisure.     The building has been extensively renovated and converted into a wonderful property. It has been thoughtfully furnished and well-equipped with an upside down layout and an open plan living space comprising of a kitchen, dining area and a comfortable living area, complete with a cosy wood burner.     The local town of Kingsbridge retains its character offering a wide variety of independent shops, boutiques, cafés and supermarkets. Just 220 yards downstream, on the opposite side of the riverbank is the Avon Mill Garden Centre, and alongside it you will find the small deli, shops and a gallery, which boasts a fabulous café. Nearby there are many historic houses, including Agatha Christie’s Greenway, Saltram and Overbecks, whilst Dartmouth and Totnes both have castles to explore. Close by you will find the South Hams beautiful beaches and some breathtaking coastal paths, including Bantham, Bigbury on Sea, South Milton Sands and Hope Cove. The holiday lodges lie in a lovely setting that offer a comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. There are 10 acres of beautiful, ancient woodland, complete with a stream winding its way through the land, plus an abundance of wildlife, ponds and granite boulders. A rich variety of plants and woodland flowers offer an idyllic haven for the resident wildlife. This is a brilliant area for walking, relaxing and star gazing as there is no light pollution. Nearby, a golf club and horse riding over Dartmoor are available. Being in the midst of Dartmoor, there are many superb walks, reservoirs, heather-clad tors and Dartmoor ponies. There are many places of interest for the whole family. If you are a keen walker, the Teign Valley is well known for its delightful woodland footpaths. It is an area of outstanding beauty and in the springtime, the Dunsford woods are famous for beautiful natural daffodils and a little later, a carpet of bluebells. Maggie’s Place is also just 7 miles from the market town of Holsworthy to the south with its various shops, cafés and restaurants plus Holsworthy Museum, golf club, pottery, archery centre, horse riding stables and main supermarket.
    14 miles to the north is the port town of Bideford and just 13 miles from the Cornish coastal town of Bude. In nearby Cornwall there’s King Arthur’s Tintagel, lovely Boscastle and many other coastal villages - all with awe-inspiring scenery. The fantastic Southwest Coast Path runs through the region’s rugged coastline and is perfect for walkers and view seekers offering 90 miles of stunning walks. Most beaches allow dogs during the main season such as Summerleaze, Sandymouth, Duckpool and North Cott all have good facilities. The ports of Port Isaac, Port Quinn and Port Gaverne are nice to visit and swim as well as letting your dog have a dip.
    The famed Upper and Lower Tamar Lakes are just a 15 minute drive away great for a 3mile walk and lunch in the cafe. There is also Roadford Lake which is also good for dog walks and lunch. The popular Tarka Trail is one of the country’s longest continuous traffic-free walking and cycling paths and provides the unique opportunity to follow disused railway lines allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery. Padstow, Newquay and Dartmoor are a hour away. For a day with a difference why not take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna?
