Welcome to Appledore Cottage. This truly stunning thatched cottage is located in the peaceful village of Farnham, ideal for exploring the stunning countryside Dorset has to offer. Recently refurbished in 2022 to a high standard, this is the perfect holiday for the whole family to relax. Entering via a porch way for muddy shoes and coats, the living room is well equipped with comfy sofas, a Smart TV and an electric wood burner. Rear French doors lead you into the back garden where you can relax after a long day exploring. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room is located next to the kitchen where you can enjoy a morning coffee or a family meal. Upstairs via the unique spiral staircase there are three bedrooms - a master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower room, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The family bathroom offers a shower over bath, basin and toilet.
Farnham is a small village with a pub a short walk away, and Larmer Tree Gardens is only a short drive away, well worth a visit to wander around the beautiful gardens. You can also visit the National Trust sites of Kingston Lacy House, Hod Hill and the White Mill. Dorset Heavy Horse Farm is a wonderful family day out where you can feed the animals or enjoy a ride in a horse drawn carriage. You can visit Moors Valley Park where there are tree top walkways, or you can cycle around the woodlands. One place you will not want to miss is the walks along the Jurassic Coastline taking in sites such as Lulworth Cove and Durdle door, located approximately 1 hour from the property. Beach 20 miles. Just 200 yards from the seafront at Weymouth, with wonderful views over the bay and onto Portland, this first floor holiday apartment for six has a compact garden, reached by a small footbridge, and offers a great location for a family holiday. From the doorstep, one can enjoy water activities from swimming, fishing, boating and wind surfing, to scenic coastal walking and many restaurants nearby. Local attractions include the Sealife Centre, Adventure Park and Tower, and Radipole Nature Reserve.

Bowleaze Cove, north east of Weymouth and near the village of Preston, is a sand and shingle beach extending to the whole of Weymouth Bay. The cove is on the Jurassic Coast and is known for its geology. Dogs are welcome from October to April only, and the sea is great for taking a dip or simply paddling. A zoned area offers watersports.

Within easy driving, take in Lulworth Cove, Lulworth Castle and on to Corfe Castle and the Swanage Railway. You can also visit Lyme Regis, explore the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast with its spectacular scenery, taking in Abbotsbury Swannery and Tropical Gardens, or Westbay, scene of the Broadchurch TV series. Perhaps an inland visit to Monkey World, the Tank Museum at Bovington and of course Dorchester, with its many attractions too. You will have much to do for a great holiday. Beach 200 yards. Poole, 7 miles, is a coastal gem, known for its picturesque harbourside and bustling quayside. Take a leisurely stroll along the quay, where traditional pubs, seafood restaurants, and quaint shops line the waterfront. Here, you can savour freshly caught fish and chips, or indulge in a relaxing afternoon tea while watching boats gently bob on the water. Nearby Brownsea Island, a short ferry ride away, is a nature lover’s paradise. This tranquil sanctuary is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, including red squirrels and a multitude of bird species.
Studland Bay is also close by with a sandy beach and ferries to the Channel Islands (summer only) and France. Shops ¼ mile.

The delightful Swanage Railway runs regular trips on steam and diesel engines from Corfe Castle to Swanage, a pretty seaside resort with golden sandy beaches. Located on the Isle of Purbeck on the Jurassic Coast, Swanage is known for its mild weather and unique micro climate.
Bustling Poole Harbour is the largest natural harbour in Europe, with its sheltered waters and tiny islands. It is ideal for water sports yet is fringed with unspoilt woodland and coastal walks, appealing to all generations.
A little further east is the popular seaside resort of Bournemouth with miles of stunning sandy beaches, a pier and traditional amusements and fairground rides to keep the children entertained. Shop, pub and restaurant 1.5 miles.

Alternatively, take the scenic coastal road towards Abbotsbury, known for its swannery where you can walk through a colony of nesting mute swans, help to feed them and even watch their eggs hatching.
Not far from Abbotsbury is the small harbour resort of West Bay, at the western tip of Chesil Beach and is also worth a visit.
Chesil Beach is a natural 18 mile long, curving pebble beach which serves as a barrier from the winter storms and stretches from West Bay to Portland.
The Isle of Portland is joined to the mainland by Chesil Beach which also provides road access. For a small island, it is packed with attractions and activities from a castle and lighthouse to water sports and hidden coves. Golf can also be found nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 0.5 miles.
