Herne Bay itself is loved by visitors for its long stretches of beach, cycle routes, iconic pier, independent eateries, and boutique shops as well as its entertainment, concert hall, cinema, and arcades. Its legacy lingers in the Victorian bandstand, fragrant seafront gardens and distinctive 80ft Clock Tower. The Reculver Towers and Roman Fort can be seen to the east where 12th-century church towers sit amid the remains of a Roman ’Saxon Shore’ fort.

Herne Bay station is just moments from the property giving easy access to the surrounding coastal towns by rail and a direct route to London Victoria and Kings Cross, Dreamland Margate, Broadstairs and Whitstable. Just along the coast and 10 minutes by car Whitstable is renowned for its famous oysters and charming Crab and Winkle way cycle route from Whitstable Harbour.

Visit the Archbishop’s Palace, a medieval building built for the Archbishops of Canterbury and now used for weddings. Leeds Castle, described by Lord Conway as the loveliest castle in the world, is close by. Take a trip on the River Medway through the Maidstone Millenium River Park up to Allington Lock. Approximately 8 miles from Canterbury, where the cathedral dates back to the 11th century, enjoy a concert, or take a river tour. Whitstable, dubbed the ‘Pearl of Kent’ presents a great opportunity to indulge in sampling oysters for which it is renowned for. Alternatively, visit the port town of Hythe, with its interesting antique shops and fishing along the seafront. Roundwood Hall, for golf, is less than 2½ miles away and there is horse riding at Marberdan Riding Centre, 1 mile. For cyclists, the property is set along national bicycle route 17, with great walks to be had directly from the front door also.

This is a great location for exploring the iconic city of Canterbury. The space This holiday space is a brick built garden room which has been separated from the main house by fencing creating a completely self-contained area for two guests. The ample bedroom has a super kingsize bed which can be separated into twin beds. The bedroom has wardrobes with space to hang clothes and shelves. A separate wardrobe is home to an iron and ironing board and a dustpan and brush. There is a dressing table with a hairdryer and a light-up make up mirror. A full length mirror is also on the front of the wardrobe. A Smart TV on the wall opposite the bed for those days when you just want to chill out in bed is there for your enjoyment. Accessed from the bedroom via a sliding pocket door is the shower room. This has a shower, wash hand basin and WC. The mirror over the basin has lighting and there is a shaver socket on the wall. Subtle low level spotlights allow the use of the WC without the need to put the main light on and the fan which is surprisingly quiet but could still be a disturbance in the night. The main room is both the kitchen and living space.
There are two external doors - the main door accessed via a smart lock using your smart phone and a rear door with access to the patio area. The kitchen has a built in oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge with ice box. A lovely quartz worktop adds to the style. The kitchen has a Nespresso machine as well as the normal kettle and toaster along with cutlery and crockery and cooking pans etc. The living space has a sofa and chair and smart TV, and there is also a dining table with 2 chairs. The outside patio area, perfect for taking in the evening rays of sun has both a table with chairs and parasol as well as a rattan corner sofa.
