Many walks and cycle routes for all abilities can be found here and all around the area. Country pubs serving local produce are within easy reach should you wish to dine out during your stay, with the closest just 500 yards away and easily reached via a stroll through the estate grounds.     All bedrooms are en-suite with high quality tiling, fixtures and fittings. The master with double bed, is a very pleasant room, with a Velux roof light allowing plenty of natural light. The owner would ask all guests to bring along their own shoes to get from the property to the hot tub; however fluffy bath robes are provided.

    Externally, there is a tiered flagged terraced area with comfortable garden furniture, perfect for alfresco suppers in the summer taking in the superb views over to Pen Hill, or waiting for the steam train to whistle whilst passing by.

    The thriving market town of Leyburn is literally on your doorstep. It boasts a weekly local market, monthly farmers’ market and quaint local shops, cafés and traditional pubs, making it the perfect base to enjoy walking, cycling and sight-seeing.

    Why not stroll along the famous Leyburn Shawl, or walk to Castle Bolton, Middleham Castle, Constable Burton Hall Gardens and the nearby Aysgarth Falls? A short drive away is Hardraw, home to England’s highest unbroken waterfall. You can visit the nearby Forbidden Corner attraction in Coverdale, where guests can follow a trail of follies, or head off to the Georgian market town of Richmond, which offers many shops, restaurants, pubs and tea shops.     The site is just 8 miles from the centre of Filey which has a wonderful stretch of beach that goes for over 5 miles down the coast. The seaside town of Filey has been visited for generations by lots of families attracted by the beach and the traditional seaside resort. The cobble landing leads down to the Filey Brigg where you see many children rock pooling. On the clifftops is the end of the Cleveland Way walk, with many a weary walker sitting on the clifftops after completing the walk. The walks among the clifftops are stunning and some of the best available down the East Coast. To the south you have the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs, and you’ll see all the migrating birds from puffins to guillemots and kittiwakes. The seaside resorts of Scarborough, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are just a short drive away.
    Scarborough has two glorious beaches with a castle on the cliff top in-between, you also have the oriental gardens at Peasolm park, the Sealife Centre and one of Europe’s largest open air theatres which a great line up during the summer months. The medieval City of York is less than an hour away and is voted every year as being one of the top ten cities to visit. Try not to miss it during your stay as you will not be disappointed.
