Penthwaite is a luxury detached, stone built property with a contemporary styled interior. The ground floor opens into an impressive living space with large picture windows, central staircase and open glazed gallery. There is a spacious, light filled dining room, with seating for 8 people with a living area and bespoke study area off. Settle down on one of two comfy sofas, to enjoy the glorious views, or switch on the Smart TV and tune in to your favourite films. The spacious boot room/utility just off the living area has ample space for your coats and boots.

To the rear of the property, is a large contemporary style kitchen with fully integrated appliances, inviting you to rustle up a tasty brunch or supper. A smaller snug area with a TV, just off the kitchen, doubles up as a relaxing space to curl up with a glass of wine.

All bedrooms are en-suite with high quality tiling, fixtures and fittings. The master with double bed, is a very pleasant room, with a Velux roof light allowing plenty of natural light. Bedroom two has a double bed, and from this room, there is one small step outside then level access directly to the side patio. Bedroom three has a single cabin bed with pull out single bed underneath. All bedrooms have vaulted ceilings with remote controlled Velux windows.

There is much to love outside this fabulous holiday home. To further add to the wow factor, there is a relaxing hot tub, with views across the surrounding countryside. The owner would ask all guests to bring along their own shoes to get from the property to the hot tub; however fluffy bath robes are provided.

Externally, there is a tiered flagged terraced area with comfortable garden furniture, perfect for alfresco suppers in the summer taking in the superb views over to Pen Hill, or waiting for the steam train to whistle whilst passing by.

The thriving market town of Leyburn is literally on your doorstep. It boasts a weekly local market, monthly farmers’ market and quaint local shops, cafés and traditional pubs, making it the perfect base to enjoy walking, cycling and sight-seeing.

Why not stroll along the famous Leyburn Shawl, or walk to Castle Bolton, Middleham Castle, Constable Burton Hall Gardens and the nearby Aysgarth Falls? A short drive away is Hardraw, home to England’s highest unbroken waterfall. You can visit the nearby Forbidden Corner attraction in Coverdale, where guests can follow a trail of follies, or head off to the Georgian market town of Richmond, which offers many shops, restaurants, pubs and tea shops. Surrounded by the vast expanse of the wild North York Moors National Park, there are many beauty spots nearby to visit. For walkers you can join the Cleveland Way along the rugged cliff edges visiting coves, bays and picturesque little coastal towns. Or ride the steam train over the hills and through the valleys on the moors railway. If you really want to embrace the spirit of the town why not try your hand at fishing? You can join a boat trip, or for children crabbing off the pier is always a treat. Alternatively simply enjoy some freshly caught seafood in one of the award winning local restaurants. Beach 1¼ mile. This semi-detached barn conversion oozes charm with oak beams and flagged floors. The ground floor is mainly open plan and is perfect for getting everyone together. It has a large kitchen with all the modern appliances you could need, a large island and farmhouse table, making it a perfect social space. The living area has two sofas and an armchair, and views that stretch for miles. French doors from both the living room and kitchen lead out onto the spacious garden/terrace complete with barbecue and garden furniture.

Upstairs are three good sized bedrooms. The master has a kingsize sleigh bed, Smart TV and a fabulous en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, large walk-in shower and his and hers basins. The second bedroom has a kingsize bed and a single, and the third bedroom has a double bed. A separate family shower room completes this floor.

Outside is an enclosed lawned garden with terraced area. This is such a peaceful spot, with beautiful views that go on for miles with nothing but bird song to listen. The perfect place to sit back, relax and re-charge your batteries.

Out and about there are an abundance of things to do, with walking routes straight from the door and cycle tracks too. Visit the market town of Richmond or the the pretty town of Barnard Castle with its castle ruins and riverside walks. Bowes Museum is worth a visit too. The streets are lined with a wide array of independent shops, galleries and tea shops, and a good selection of pubs and restaurants can be found here too. This charming cottage is ideal for walkers, book lovers, and those who like strolling to pubs with real atmosphere and good food, or who just want to soak up all that a beautiful Yorkshire Dales village and river valley has to offer. The detached stone property was built in 1652, and sits quietly in Kettlewell, in the heart of the National Park. Cam Cottage is ideally placed for varied walking from the front door, it is set against a backdrop of striking scenery and makes a perfect year-round retreat in which to relax, with a south-facing enclosed front patio and planting along the length of the property. The pretty flower-bed across the lane belongs to the cottage, behind are pretty neighbouring gardens and lovely views along steep-sided Wharfedale.
Between 100 to 250 yards away are five eateries including award-winning and affordable pubs and restaurants, as well as a well-stocked village shop. Grassington, a picturesque town is just 7 miles away, and plays host to a Summer Arts Festival with famed singers, presenters, poets and authors, and a winter Dickensian Festival, to conjure for you the true spirit of Christmas. Its cobbled streets offer a selection of individual country shops, pubs and restaurants. Skipton, a bustling market town, just over 14 miles away, has a wide sweeping high street, from where you can tour the amazing Norman castle or take a soothing trip along the canal. Shorter outings from Kettlewell also cover the unsung delights of the National Trust’s Braithwaite Hall and English Heritage’s Middleham Castle, as well as the splendours of Bolton Abbey and Malham Cove. For day-trips, the beauties of Wensleydale and the historic spa towns of Ilkley and Harrogate are within easy reach. Shop 300 yards, pub 200 yards, restaurant 350 yards.

This stone-built, end terrace cottage, set back from the main road on the outskirts of the village of Long Preston, has a pleasant rural outlook to the rear and the soothing sounds of the river alongside. The cottage offers comfortable furnishings and good use of space. The living room is a perfect place to relax after a day exploring with comfortable sofas, a large TV and a wood burner to get warm and cosy in front of. The kitchen/dining room is well equipped and has a second wood burner should you wish to gather around the table while making your plans. Long Preston has a post office and general store, a church and a choice of two pubs, both within a short stroll and offering local ales and good food. The village is within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is surrounded by scenic countryside with immediate access to a variety of walks. The area is ever popular for its Three Peaks challenge. The area provides outstanding opportunities for cycling and mountain biking, and the property has a bike store for up to six bikes.

A short drive is the market town of Settle with a wide range of shops and you can also take a trip on the Settle-Carlisle Railway line which crosses some of the most outstandingly beautiful, upland scenery. Explore Whitby, with its Gothic abbey, quaint cobbled old town and museums including one on a ship with an exhibition dedicated to the voyager, Captain Cook. Take advantage of your close proximity to the coast and spend a day at Whitby Beach, where you can try your hand at surfing or paddle boarding with the local surf school, sunbathe with your favourite book, or beachcomb the shores, looking out for fossils as well as fragments of precious jet. Jet jewellery is highly regarded here, and you can visit many jet jewellery shops as well as the historical workshop. Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy a whale watching cruise, searching for seals, dolphins, and whales, which frequent the shores especially in September. Or travel further south along the coast to Bempton Cliffs where thousands of seabirds nest annually at the RSPB site.
The coastline here is fabulous with the neighbouring villages of Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick, Staithes and Sandsend all perfect for a scenic day out all year round. Some visitors love soaking up the sun, whilst others are enthralled on a stormy day watching the waves. Be sure to visit the North York National Park, where a plethora of scenic walks through wooded valleys await, taking the steam train from Whitby gives you a wonderful tour of some of the prettiest villages on the moors. Superbly equipped with all the necessary appliances and accessories. The stylish living room is warm and welcoming, with a wood burner and comfortable sofas and French doors leading out to the patio area. Whether it’s casual dining and a glass of wine in the kitchen, or more formal dining in the dining room, this property caters for your every need. Upstairs the large bedrooms are beautifully furnished with super comfortable beds. The first, a kingsize has a Smart TV and views looking down across the Dales. The second a super kingsize has Smart TV and dual aspect windows with beautiful views and shares a Jack and Jill style bathroom with the third double room. All bedrooms have views over the Dale. There is a luxurious family bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower cubicle.
Outside there are several areas to sit and enjoy the day. To the rear French doors lead out onto a flagged patio area, set with table and chairs where you can sit and watch the horses as they graze in the paddock. There is a further patio area to the front with garden furniture, and a large front lawn which is shared with The Barn. For guests bringing their furry friends the property extends to two paddocks directly across the road which is ideal for dog walking.
Situated in the picturesque village of West Witton and within walking distance of the village store, tea rooms and post office. With its highly acclaimed restaurant The Wensleydale Heiffer a short stroll away this makes a perfect choice for a special celebration. For those looking to explore the great outdoors, there are walks and cycle routes straight from the doorstep. With numerous attractions to visit, the stunning waterfalls at Aysgarth Falls or Hawes with its quirky shops and cafés and the famous Wensleydale Creamery. In the opposite direction visit the picturesque village of Middleham and its famous castle, enjoy the sights as the racehorses ride to and from the gallops each day or sit it in the village square and enjoy a coffee as you watch the world go by. A little further and you will reach the bustling market town of Leyburn with a host of interesting shops, restaurants and cafés all set around the market square and of course Friday is market day and a chance to snap up some of the gorgeous local produce.
