    Step into Christmas (Cottage), this unique maisonette which dates back to the 1800’s has been expertly restored to its former glory. Built into the famous Cheddar Gorge this is one property you will not want to miss.
    Entering via a metal side gate up a flight of steep stairs, you arrive to the lower deck, perfect for people watching or enjoying the summer sun. Enter directly into the kitchen/dining area where you are welcomed to a large space for the whole family to enjoy their evening meal or breakfast with views across the River Yeo and park. The kitchen is fitted with double electric oven, gas hob, integrated fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave and is also decorated at christmas with garlands above the top cabinets, festive bunting and fair lights. Stepping through the wooden double doors is where you are greeted to the fanatic theme of Christmas all year, not just in December. The living room comprises of comfy sofa, Smart TV, wood burning stove for those cold winter days (wood burner available for use during winter months only from 1 November to 31 March) and window seats overlooking the river and waterfall.
    Upstairs on the second floor there are three bedrooms, each bedroom has its own theme, The ’Robin’ bedroom features a kingsize bed, The ’Woodland Bedrooms’ has a small double and ‘Elf Room’ is a small single bedroom. The family bathroom is fitted with shower cubicle and bath. There is LED lighting including a back lit mirror that creates a soft light for relaxing in the bath. Take the small steps up to the upper deck garden/decking which is four floors above the ground. This is a stunning garden which is not to be missed, built into Cheddar Gorge you have a brilliant 180-degree view across the river, up the gorge and down into the village; this can also be the perfect place to star gaze.
    Another awesome feature of the cottage is the location, leave the car and stroll into the village centre where you will be greeted by a myriad of pubs, tea rooms, independent stores and of course the Famous Cheddar Cheese shops! For the more adventurous, walk-through Cheddar Gorge, tackle Jacobs Ladder and explore the fantastic caves. Beach 12 miles.

    Stepping inside, on the ground floor you will find a cosy lounge with wood burner, perfect for chillier evenings, and comfortable seating to relax in after a day exploring the area, together with Freeview TV. The wonderfully light and modern kitchen/diner comes extremely well equipped with a second Freeview TV, plus everything you need for a wonderful home-cooked meal, with an electric oven, gas 5 burner hob, and dishwasher. There’s also a utility room with a fridge/freezer, wine cooler, and washing machine.

    Heading upstairs you will find the family bathroom with a P-shape bath and shower plus a heated towel rail. The bedrooms have all been decorated in calming colours for a restful night’s sleep and have plenty of storage and hanging space. The master bedroom has a king size bed, bedroom two has a double while bedroom three has a single bed.

    Outside, the south-facing garden, with two decks, is a great size and is mainly lawned, perfect for your two and four-legged family to let off some steam running around and playing games. Speaking of which, at the bottom of the garden you will find the games cabin with table tennis and a decked area with a table, chairs, a corner sofa, for relaxing, firepit and barbecue for your alvfresco dining! Head into the cosy games cabin when the sun goes down.

    A fantastic holiday home located just a short walk from Minehead’s town centre and beautiful seafront, with sandy beach and harbour, surrounded by shops and an award-winning Indian restaurant, 2-minute walk. Local pubs are a 5-minute walk giving you the option to leave the car on the driveway and explore on foot. Hire bikes, paddle boards and kayaks from Channel Adventures on the seafront.

    Minehead Golf Course, founded in 1882, is Somerset’s oldest and is open all year round. Minehead is also a bustling seaside resort with plenty of things to do and there are many shops, bars, and restaurants to sample as well as three supermarkets within a 5-minute walk! Take time to explore, get lost and find hidden rivers, old-fashioned tea rooms and country pubs. The village of Dunster has its beach, plus its castle and cobbled streets are a must-do while here. Dunster by candlelight in December is a magical experience! Drive along the coast and spend time in Porlock, ride the cliff railway that links Lynton and Lynmouth or wander around Watchet.     Set in an idyllic location, these holiday cottages, adjacent to the owner’s home, really are in the perfect spot for guests wanting to explore the local area and beyond. Beautifully renovated and furnished to a very good standard, they offer exceptional comfort and facilities.
    Both sleep up to five people, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms in each cottage. On the ground floor is a queen bedroom with adjacent bathroom with cubicle shower, on the first floor there is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom, as well as a large family bathroom. Each cottage has a large, well-equipped kitchen/dining room, perfect for enjoying a well-cooked evening meal with views over the fields beyond. It’s a great place to gather and chat and drink whilst dinner is being prepared! Both cottages have separate living areas with comfortable seating, Freeview TVs and a wood burner, perfect for those cosy nights in. The cottages have a shared garden with private BBQ and outdoor seating per cottage. There is also a separate utility room that both cottages have access to with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The owners provide a starter pack for the logs and BBQs, they also have cots and highchairs that can be requested. For your furry friends, the owners have a large utility room where there are spare dog towels, poo bags and dog bowls, and can also provide beds for the dogs. There is a hose just outside the utility area where you can wash and dry your pets after a wet and muddy walk; all dogs staying in the cottages must be kept downstairs. There is a large pond in front of the cottage which is fenced off but not enclosed; it acts as a boundary between the cottage and the owner’s home. The pond is 1.5m deep in the middle and 40cm shallow at the edge, so guest with dogs and children must take responsibility and not leave them uattended.
    There is so much to see and do locally. The village of Beckington has three pubs to choose from within walking distance and there is an award-winning café just a stone’s throw away, as well as a farm shop with its own restaurant. Every Tuesday in the village hall car park there is a mobile pizza van, or you can take a stroll to the local fish and chip shop. With country walks on your doorstep, perfect for dog walks, this cottage is great for those looking to explore what Somerset has to offer. Pears Cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding attractions, including Stonehenge, Stourhead Gardens, Longleat House, Safari Park and Gardens, Wells Cathedral and Bishops Palace, the spiritual town of Glastonbury (with its abbey and tor), the amazing Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, the designer outlet village at Street, and several National Trust properties.
