Farriers Lodge is a delightful detached barn conversion set on a working horse stud farm in open countryside, just outside the village of Brandesburton. It provides the perfect base for exploring not only the stunning Yorkshire Wolds and east coast, but also the vibrant towns of Beverley and Driffield.
Bright and welcoming, this dog friendly property has an open plan living space with a large fireplace complete with wood burner and deep sofas. The kitchen and dining area provides all the mod cons to enable the chef in the group to cook delicious home-made fayre throughout the holiday. The central staircase is flooded with natural light from the overhead Velux window and leads to the first floor, where you will find two well-appointed, cosy bedrooms. Both rooms are lovingly furnished with vaulted ceilings. The cottage is tastefully decorated throughout and oozes traditional Yorkshire charm and character. Outside, the small courtyard has seating and enjoys the sun for the majority of the day. It also boasts a private hot tub, the perfect place to relax and enjoy your favorite holiday tipple. As a working stud farm, the owners offer the opportunity to look around and see some of their world class stallions, mares and foals (this can be arranged on arrival). For those with their own horses, stabling is available so your four legged friend can also enjoy a holiday (charges and additional T&Cs apply).
Fraisthorpe Beach is perfect for dog walking and horse riding and is popular with locals for exercising horses all year round. The village of Brandesburton is home to a couple of pubs offering traditional ales and bar meals, alongside a number of shops and restaurants. A short drive brings you to the pretty Wolds town of Beverley offering a host of independent shops, cafés and restaurants. A day at Beverley Races or a round of golf at one of the many local golf courses are sure to keep everyone entertained. The seaside town of Hornsea is on the doorstep and with pony rides, ice-cream and fish and chips is a lovely unspoilt family destination. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area including the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs and the Nature Reserve at Sprun Point. Beach 6 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Located in Chideock, between Bridport and West Bay to the east and Lyme Regis to the west, this holiday home is the main part of the owners’ detached house with an adjoining self-contained annexe for the owners use. It is ideally situated for enjoying and exploring west Dorset and the famous scenic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, and has a large, enclosed, lawned garden with a patio overlooking fields and footpaths towards Seatown. Wander over the fields to the coast at Seatown and enjoy some superb scenic coastal walking up to the top of Golden Cap the highest point in the south of England. Lyme Regis offers a great day or two out, with its picturesque harbour, sandy beach and famous Cob, where you can pass the time fossil hunting, boating, fishing, swimming, walking, exploring the quaint character shops, or simply wining and dining. Inland perhaps enjoy a cream tea at the Broadwindsor Craft Centre, or travel further afield to south Somerset and visit historic Forde Abbey and Gardens. Boasting lovely on-site fishing lakes and a children’s play area, Moor Farm Stable Cottages offers something for everyone. Located on their working beef farm, the owners have worked hard to make sure these terraced barns have a traditional farmhouse feel, which is in keeping with the site, and all are well equipped to provide a great base for your holiday.
Those seeking ground floor accommodation will enjoy the Stable Cottages (refs UKC3741, UKC3742, UKC3743, UKC3744, UKC3745 and UKC3746). Stable Cottage 8 (ref UKC3747) is also arranged on one floor but there is a flight of stairs to take you up to it. Littlewoods Barn (ref UKC3737) and Baileys Barn (ref UKC3738) are also both single storey and enjoy a quiet position that is just a five-minute walk from the farm and all its great facilities. The Old Workshop (ref UKC3740) is on-site and offers light and airy accommodation for up to eight guests, and Dairy Cottage (ref UKC3735) and Pond Cottage (ref UKC3736) both boast a range ideal for cooking delicious meals. Dating back over 300 years, Moor Farm Cottage (ref UKC3734) has a lovely open fire to relax around, and Church Farm Barn (ref UKC3739) offers a cosy wood burner.
Keen fisherman will enjoy the on-site lakes and ponds, and fishing is included in your stay so there are no supplements to pay; also included is access to the children’s play area so you really won’t have to venture too far to have a great holiday. If you can tear yourself away, you will find yourself in Wells-next-the-Sea in just under half an hour. Here there is a lovely mix of artisan and traditional seaside shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs and amusements. There is also a narrow gauge railway that takes you to the gorgeous wide, sandy beach and a much photographed quay. Equidistant is the bustling coastal market town of Sheringham, with Sheringham Park, North Norfolk Railway and two museums. Head along the coast and visit Cromer with its famous Edwardian seafront and pier. Travel east or west along this stunning coastline and you will find a chain of pretty seaside towns and villages offering marshes, beaches and quays. Make time for a trip to the medieval city of Norwich, with its splendid Norman castle, museums and guided ghost walks. Go shopping in the Norwich Lanes, alleyways of colourful independent shops, and then enjoy a meal, perhaps before taking in a show at one of the theatres. The Stables is a stunning property and sits in an elevated position with grand views over rolling countryside, just outside the popular village of Stanhope in the Durham Dales. Within the extensive grounds there is a variety of seating areas, picnic tables and loungers - something here for everyone. Completed in July 2022, The Stables has been finished to an exceptional standard. Care has been taken to allow for accessible entry for less mobile guests, or wheelchair users. The spacious open plan living space has huge floor to ceiling windows bringing the outside in, the leather corner sofas are positioned to take full advantage of this. A suspended egg chair is bound to be a firm favourite, while a wall mounted Smart TV provides entertainment. There is a large well-equipped kitchen/dining room, boot room, a utility room and separate toilet. The bedrooms offer flexible sleeping arrangements on request.

Outside, enjoy a dip in the hot tub set in a smaller courtyard garden, a great way to relax after a busy day. Amble down to the fountain to find a quiet spot to read a book or enjoy an al fresco supper. As night draws in, take a warm throw to wrap up and sit and experience the amazing starry skies above. The village centre is approximately one mile away with an excellent variety of local amenities, where you will find pubs, tea shops, cafés, butchers, bakers, and takeaways. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Stanhope is often referred to as ’The Gateway to the Dales’. There are many established walks, cycle paths, and routes running directly from the town and out toward some of the traditional villages. In the warmer weather, enjoy the Weardale Open Air Swimming Pool. Also ideal for children is the Weardale Railway which stops in Stanhope, and covers an 18-mile heritage line that chugs through parts of County Durham and has different events all year round. Other attractions include a visit to Raby Castle, or Barnard Castle with its lovely riverside walks and the famous Bowes Museum.

In a tranquil wooded setting beside Tunstall Forest and just 3 miles from Orford on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, this characterful cottage is perfect for walkers, bird watchers and riders. Visitors are welcome to bring their own horses, and stabling is available for 4 horses (by arrangement, direct contact is advised) as well as grazing for more. Although this is a peaceful holiday location, wi-fi is provided free of charge for those still wanting to keep in touch whilst away from home. Miles of quiet roads and forest tracks between Snape and Woodbridge offer lovely cycling, whilst river boat trips, Snape concert hall and craft centre, and Aldeburgh are all nearby. Inside Gwel Yr Haul, you’ll find the holiday home has been furnished in a contemporary, minimalist style, with an upside-down layout to take full advantage of the panoramic views from the upstairs rooms. Upstairs the living spaces are open plan, creating a laid-back feel and are fronted by three patio doors which open out onto the balcony so you can fully indulge in the view. There’s a modern kitchen next to the dining/living area with deep, comfy sofas and a cosy gas fire, perfect for relaxing evenings in front of a film or some downtime with a good book. The dining table is positioned in a light-filled spot right in front of the patio doors, a great place to start the day with a delicious breakfast. In addition, there is a cosy snug with a stylish high-backed chair and a selection of books and Xbox one, great for the kids. There are three bedrooms, all on the ground floor sleeping up to eight guests. The master bedroom features a super kingsize bed, with extra single bed and pull-out bed for flexible sleeping, this bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. And the other two are just as comfortable with zip and link super kingsize or twins, as well as a shower room and family bathroom. Step outside into the pretty courtyard and you’ll find more dining space for barbecuing on sunny days, there’s also a handy wetsuit drying area for those who’ve braved a dip in the sea. In the evenings, gather around the table and chairs on the balcony for an after-dinner drink as the sun sets.
The house is located minutes away from Barmouth, when the tide is in you can walk on the promenade, it takes around 20-30 minutes. Wander through town, stopping off at shops and cafés along the way or to one of the restaurants for dinner. Barmouth beach is 100 yards away, accessible by footpath from the house, over a pedestrian railway crossing, the beach varies from vast sandy expanses to pebbles and lovely sand dunes. There are many places to visit in the area from beautiful countryside walks to beach fun there is always plenty to do at Gwel Yr Haul. Beach 100 yards.

Set in its own private grounds on the stunningly beautiful little Loch Broom, Kildonan is a bright, spacious and modern detached house. It enjoys wonderful uninterrupted views across the loch to the Summer Isles beyond, surrounded by hills and mountains. Tucked away down its own quiet track it is ideal for a luxurious get-away from it all holiday for families and friends. The large kitchen/dining room is modern farmhouse style, with flagstone flooring and built-in units. Across the hallway is a spacious living room, with deep soft leather sofa suites and a large wood burner. The games room is on the ground floor and is a wonderful bonus for all ages. Here is a large central pool table, as well as a dart board and other games. The rural country gardens surround the house making this an ideal place to relax in the evening. A wide staircase leads up to the first floor, where there are four generously proportioned bedrooms, one with an en-suite. They are all very attractively presented with colour co-ordinated soft furnishings and high quality beds and furniture. As well as the en-suite there is a family-sized bathroom with a deep roll-top bath and a separate shower cubicle.

Kildonan is ideally located for maximising the views, sitting on a promontory near the head of Little Loch Broom, which in summer is ideal for swimming. Badluarch jetty, at the end of the single track lane, offers easy access to the water. Badluarach is a small crofting hamlet, with scattered cottages, sheep and cattle for company. The adjoining lane leads out onto open moorland. The area is a paradise for hill-walkers and climbers, with numerous walks directly from the property and the renowned munro of An Tellach just 5 minutes away. It is equidistant from Ullapool and Gairloch. The coastline that runs along this west coast is simply stunning. It forms part of the renowned North Coast 500 route which encompasses some of the most dramatic and unspoilt scenery to be found anywhere in the British Isles. Miles of sandy beaches are interspersed with coves, tumbling rivers and high mountains. In the nearby village of Dundonnell there is a restaurant and bar which is open throughout the summer months. Both Ullapool and Gairloch, just 30 minutes’ drive away, have excellent facilities, including a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as visitor attractions. Beach 4 miles. The charming 300 year old Farmhouse is set within an enclosed garden on a working farm and is set close to the popular town of Knighton, which occupies a unique position, as part of the town is in Wales, and part in England – a truly unique character border town, within the town there is a wide range of independent bars, shops and restaurants to enjoy as well as takeaways should you wish to enjoy at the property. This is a great location with views of Offa’s Dyke and close to Glyndwr Way or exploring the beautiful Teme Valley.

Throughout the year, there are some lively faires celebrated, and all year round, you will find an array of antique and gift shops, tea rooms, old inns, good food and friendly locals. Local attractions include Offa’s Dyke Heritage Centre, Powys Observatory with Planetarium Show, golf, clay pigeon shooting and coarse fishing.

Gardens surround the property and there is a private seating area to the front taking in the lovely views over the owner’s own farmland where there are ponies and sheep grazing. There are walks directly from the door over the public footpaths that go through the yard and guests can walk for miles if they choose to.

Due to its special location, the tourist attractions of Shropshire and mid Wales are all within easy driving distances, so you can visit the likes of Clun with its castle, Ludlow, Church Stretton and Longmynd. Ironbridge Gorge, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth make great day trips, and over the border into Wales, you can enjoy Welshpool with its steam engine, canal and Powys Castle. Serena is a spacious, detached property with off-road parking for up to four vehicles at the front and a large enclosed rear garden. Located in the popular seaside town of Ryde with its host of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés, it lies just a short stroll from the marvellous park and beach at Appley. The stretches of sand at Ryde offer fantastic views across the Solent to Portsmouth, with the landmark Spinnaker Tower forming an impressive backdrop to a busy shipping channel, which carries an interesting array of freight, passenger and military ships, a great place to take your four-legged friends for their walks. Along the promenade, you will find tennis courts, ten pin bowling, a fun fair, a canoe lake and a swimming pool, providing plenty to do within the local area. You can also enjoy the scenic coastal walks, go crabbing, sailing, fishing, horse riding, golf or even go-karting, all of which are easily accessible from the property. There are numerous attractions across the island to discover for all ages, including The Needles, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanic Garden, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. There are all year round dog friendly beaches for you and your pooch to enjoy close by, the nearest beach is only a 15-minute walk away. Whitby is a wonderful historic town with plenty to do for all the family to enjoy. Why not attend one of the many events or festivals such as the Regatta and Goth Weekend, or just stroll through the cobbled streets with its ’jet’ jewellers, independent shops as well as many cafés, restaurants and bars, where you can sample freshly caught seafood and take in the views. For outdoor enthusiasts the Cleveland Way is just a few hundred yards away, where you can turn left for Saltburn and Sandsend or right for Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay. There is also a public golf course close by.

The Whitby coast is ideal for beach lovers and those wanting to take a boat trip out to sea in the hope of spotting a whale, or just wanting to enjoy the long stretch of golden sandy beach. The Victorian town of Scarborough is just to the south, with its Sealife Centre and the popular open air theatre, attracting top musical acts for all ages. Saltburn and Sandsend are popular with surfers, and the quaint village of Staithes is worth a visit with its links to the explorer Captain James Cook.

Head inland and you will enter the North York Moors National Park with its miles of beautiful countryside, walking routes and waterfalls. If you don’t fancy a drive, take the steam train from Whitby right into ’Heartbeat’ country. The medieval walled city of York is just an hour away and you’ll find plenty of attractions from The National Railway Museum to York Dungeons and The Jorvik Viking Centre.
