    Stalmine is located approximately 5 miles from the small market town of Poulton-le-Fylde which has a good selection of shops, bars, and cafés. Other places that are worth a visit along the Fylde coast include Thornton Cleveleys with its old-fashioned charm and promenade, 7 miles, Fleetwood with its Freeport Outlet Shopping Village, 10 miles, and of course Blackpool, 9 miles, whose many attractions include The Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre, and Madame Tussauds.
    Apart from being accessible for the coast, Carr End Barn A is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. Ribble Valley with its pretty villages is within an hour’s drive, and it’s an excellent choice for walks and country pubs. The Forest of Bowland, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, can also be reached within an hour’s drive. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are also very accessible by road and can be reached in an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 13 miles away and Preston is 19 miles. Beach 9¾ miles. Everywhere grey-stone villages blend effortlessly into an unspoilt landscape. The Lakes offer a land of exciting contrasts – high mountains and deep lakes in an ever-changing array of colours. Fishing and water sports can be enjoyed, or for the less energetic, sheepdog trials, Cumberland wrestling and fell races make good spectator sports. Wycoller and Bronte Country is just 6 miles away, where you can follow in the footsteps of Heathcliff and Cathy. The bustling market town of Skipton, known as ‘The gateway to the Dales’ is just 8 miles away where guests can enjoy the local market and a selection of pubs, shops, cafés, and restaurants. The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, can be reached in under 40 minutes offering an abundance of walking, cycling and fantastic local gastronomy to try including two Michelin Star restaurants. Pendle Hill with its rich history, most notably for the witch trials, is also nearby and has fantastic walking and cycling through the surrounding villages and over the hill itself where you’ll be rewarded with views across the Ribble Valley, Yorkshire Dales, and Lancashire Moors. A 9-holf golf course can be found just a 7-minute drive away. If you fancy going slightly further afield, The Lake District, Fylde Coast and Peak District National Park can all be reached in an hour.

    Moving upstairs to the first floor you’ll find the family bathroom and three large bedrooms, each with stunning rural views to wake up to. The jungle mural bedroom is spectacular! Split and twist stairs take you to the second floor which is the luxurious master suite, with super kingsize bed and an en-suite with stand-alone tub, table-mounted twin wash basins and a walk-in rainfall shower. The television rises out of a wooden chest, and to add to the intrigue further, a full length mirror conceals the dressing room – it’s brilliant! Outside in the grounds, badminton and croquet is available to set up on the lawn. Finally there’s the opportunity to play with the tame goats, sheep and chickens, including the collection of eggs!
    The village of Parbold is 1½ miles away and includes a train station with direct service to Manchester in just under an hour. Several good country pubs are within easy walking distance, and the Leeds to Liverpool canal runs through the village for waterside strolls and narrowboat/kayak hire. Fabulous walks and hikes are available direct from the door, and the beautiful sandy beach of Southport is a mere 30-minute drive.
