    Welcome to Crickledown, a gorgeous detached holiday home, perfect for families to get together for some quality time in a fabulous space and location! When you pull into the driveway and Crickledown appears in front of you, you will fall in love straight away.

    Inside this large, yet wonderfully laid out home, you have a beautiful entrance way with feature staircase and chandelier, a huge lounge with superb fireplace and woodburning stove, Smart TV and French doors leading to the garden. A second lounge/snug has a Smart TV and is a great space for the kids to have their own fun. The spacious Kitchen has a large Aga for cooking, electric hob, dishwasher and fridge as well as a breakfast area. Off the kitchen is the grand dining room with plenty of seating for everyone. From the kitchen you also have access to the utility room with large fridge/freezer and washing machine. On the ground floor is the downstairs suite complete with double bedroom, lounge and en-suite shower room, the perfect spot for the less mobile or for those who like a bit of their own space. Upstairs, you will find five more bedrooms. The rear facing bedrooms have wonderful views of Glastonbury Tor as does the principal bathroom, which features a spacious walk-in shower and fabulous bath, where you can relax and gaze out over the fields beyond.

    Outside, you have a beautiful large garden, part of which is an orchard and a superb place to sit and relax under the shade of the apple trees on a hot day. The patio area has seating and a BBQ area, and there is also a fabulous lawn area for games. The crowning glory of course is the magnificent hot tub, perfectly situated to take in the views of the fields, the garden and the house while you sit back and relax with a glass of your favourite drink.

    Crickledown is set in the village of High Ham, just 3 miles from Langport. The Somerset levels are easily accessible as are many of Somersets other attractions. The towns of Taunton, Yeovil and Glastonbury are reached in under 30 minutes by car, with the latter being of note for its ancient historical links and of course the Tor which can be seen from Crickledowns windows. National Trust properties abound nearby and a fun day out for the family can be had on the West Somerset Steam Railway which runs from Bishops Lydeard to the seaside town of Minehead.     The Jurassic coastline and picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis with its independent shops, restaurants and fossil hunting opportunities is less than 1 hour drive. Further South the beaches and seaside towns of Exmouth, Sidmouth and Teignmouth are all within easy reach.

    Situated just on the outside of the seaside town of Clevedon on the Severn Estuary of North Somerset, Dowlais Farm is a beautiful place for a peaceful retreat. Russet Barn is an ideal base for a relaxing break, family holiday or romantic getaway.
    Clevedon is a beautiful seaside town located in the cider loving county of North Somerset. Hosting spectacular countryside, incredible wildlife, the world’s second largest tidal range and the only Grade I Listed Victorian pier in the country, there are many things to see and do in the local area. The open plan living space is lovely and light with its sky light and beamed ceiling, comfortable sofas, and Smart TV. Wonderful for enjoying your morning coffee whilst watching Netflix or sitting in front of the log burner in the evening. The well-equipped kitchen has all the supplies you need as well as a coffee machine with a couple of complimentary pods.
    On the ground floor you will find the kingsize bedroom as well as the family bathroom; head up the stairs through the open plan living space to the twin bedroom with two single beds. The barns can sleep up to four guests with an additional sofa bed for a child in the living room. Escape to these barn conversions that have been lovingly restored by the current owners in 2022, where you can indulge in the comfort offered.
    This is a great area for walking or cycling along the North Somerset coast. The properties are directly on the brand new ‘Pier to Pier’ cycle track (open 2023) and this will give the opportunity to cycle between the piers in Clevedon and Weston-Super-Mare. The properties are about 700 yards from Clevedon Golf Centre where adults and children are always welcome to play, no booking necessary. The wider garden is shared with the other cottage, and is enclosed when the gate is shut. Clevedon has a lovely little harbour as well as a beautiful sea front with views across to Wales. There is a seawater lake used for swimming all year round (£1 honesty box charge). Other water-based activities are available (paddle boarding, sailing etc.) There is also an arcade, as well as a good number of cafés and pubs along the seafront. You can also visit Ladye Bay, a lovely, secluded pebble beach bay, which is within walking distance. The busier Weston-Super-Mare is only 10 minutes down the motorway, or a little bit longer along the cycle path. There is the Grand Pier with lots of arcades as well as a sandy beach. You can also be in the city of Bristol within 30 minutes.

Further afield you have the market town of Taunton with its larger stores, restaurants and entertainment facilities such as cinema and bowling alley. For a fun day out why not spend the day riding the rails on the West Somerset Steam Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, spend a couple of hours by the sea before a leisurely chug back to base. Exmoor National Park is reachable in under 20 minutes’ drive with its miles and miles of walks, perfect for a day’s rambling. Beach 16 miles. Shop 350 yards, pub and restaurant 700 yards.

At certain times of year, the owners would be delighted to show you new-born lambs, calves and even kid goats! Stabling is available at cost by arrangement, which is perfect as the rides around here are endless across the Quantocks. The Coleridge way passes within half a mile.
    There is so much to do nearby you will be spoilt for choice! Exmoor and the Brendon Hills are easily reached on a day trip. Pop on the Exmoor coaster, one of the UK’s most spectacular open top bus rides. Explore the beaches of Minehead, Blue Anchor or Doniford Bay, wander around the harbour at Watchet, hunt for fossils at Kilve or jump on the West Somerset Steam railway that chugs merrily along from Bishops Lydeard through the countryside and along the coast to Minehead.
