Holly’s Lodge is situated in the upper Eden Valley nestling between Appleby and Kirkby Stephen at the foot of the Cumbrian Pennines, and conveniently located adjacent to and just off the trans-Pennine trunk road (A66). This makes the location an excellent touring base for exploring the Yorkshire and Durham Dales to the east, and the Lake District National Park to the west.
This detached holiday lodge provides accommodation of a very good standard, is tastefully furnished, very comfortable and well equipped, enjoys countryside views and a lovely setting on a no through lane within a small, rural caravan park. The park encourages wildlife and has a conservation pond with a wide variety of birds in the surrounding woodlands and there are frequent visits from roe deer.

This is a wonderful base for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits. Less than a mile away, main roads give access to the myriad attractions and stunning landscapes of the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales and County Durham, and the shops, pubs and restaurants of Brough are also only 1 mile away. The larger town of Kirkby Stephen, 5 miles, has a supermarket and variety of gift shops, cafés, a tourist information office, library and station for the Carlisle/Settle railway. Greenrigg Cottage is a peaceful retreat for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life. This former farmhouse enjoys an isolated location next to the owner’s house, high up on the Caldbeck Fells, with panoramic views in all directions. There are walks from the door immediately onto the open fells and quiet roads for cycling. The picturesque village of Caldbeck is three miles and has a pub, café and shop, or more amenities can be found in the bustling town of Keswick, 15 miles away. The cottage is both comfortably furnished in a traditional style and economically priced.

Prominently looking over the village green, and within touching distance of the Skiddaw massif, this link detached property is in the perfect location to explore the north western fells of the Lake District. Located in the heart of the village, with the village farm adjacent, the property offers access onto miles of quiet footpaths and local fells including little-known routes up Skiddaw and the back of the Blencathra massif. The beautiful beck, with its resident ducks, flows through the village and provides a great place for kids and dogs to cool off on warm days. The property is also only a few miles away from the historic market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, which can both be easily accessed by bus, and offer a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.

The village is situated in the north of the Lake District National Park, and is also just a short drive to Carlisle and the Scottish borders - it couldn’t be easier to explore the area. Bassenthwaite is a real community village which hosts an annual duck race, frequent pub quizzes and a vibrant, active local church arranging village fates, sports days and even Morris dancing. This beautiful cottage is just over a mile away from Bassenthwaite Lake, where fishing and sailing are available, or for nature lovers a walk up to the osprey viewpoints is well worth the effort. The property is ideally located for cyclists, with rides including the C2C and Cumbria Way routes, along with off-road trails at nearby Whinlatter Forest. However you choose to spend your stay, this is a perfect location to make the most of the Lake District. There is a dog-friendly, village pub serving food, just a short walk away, whilst Armathwaite Hall hotel and spa, Ravenstone lodge and Castle Inn all provide alternatives within 2 miles.
