Set within a conservation area and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Allonby is also perfectly situated for birdwatching along the Solway Estuary, as well as providing some absolutely stunning sunsets.     This semi-detached cottage is the ideal getaway for anyone looking to visit the Lake District, and the owner includes festive decorations at Christmas. It sits just on the outskirts of Ulverston, making it easy to walk into the centre to enjoy the delights that the town has to offer, and has off-street parking for two cars. The comfortable living room includes a leather three-seater recliner and recliner chair, and a 43" Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime will keep you entertained. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed, which has been newly redecorated in 2021 (hair dryer also provided) and which has an en-suite shower room. There is also a further double bedroom and a single bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe. Outside, the secluded, enclosed garden also has storage for bikes.
    Ulverston is a great place from which to explore the South Lakes. The property is a 6-minute walk to the shortest canal in England and is a favourite for fishermen. Walking the canal takes you to Canal Foot and the tidal estuary where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the sea. The coast is a very short drive away at Bardsea where you can enjoy the best ice cream around and walk for miles on the quiet beach.
    The town of Ulverston is packed with character from the markets and festivals to the independent shops that make up the high streets. So whether you want the high-end family butcher, the huge selection of freshly ground coffees or unique gifts, Ulverston has it all in walking distance of the property.
    There are some fabulous restaurants in the town with high Tripadvisor ratings. If you like Mexican food, there a great restaurant in the town, but be warned, you will need to book weeks in advance!
    There is lots to do in the South Lakes whatever the weather or time of year. You will pass the Motor Museum on the way into Ulverston, and the Cumbrian Heavy Horse Centre is only a short drive away, as is the South Lakes Zoo (with pre-booking you can be a zoo-keeper for the day).
    The centre of Windermere is half an hour away with all the lake attractions and the Beatrix Potter Trail. Lake Coniston is a quarter of an hour away and the famous Hoad monument is an energetic climb within walking distance of the property. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

    The entrance hall is spacious with a designated area to leave coats and shoes, plus a bookshelf housing books and games for your entertainment. The kitchen/diner has modern appliances for your convenience and a breakfast table from where to enjoy a morning coffee and a hearty breakfast. The living room has a wood burner and plenty of comfy seating, ideal for snuggling up in front of the Smart TV after a full day of exploring. The ’piece de resistance’ is the additional seating area in the bay window where you can simply sit and admire the stunning views of the Lakeland Fells and spectacular sunsets.     Conveniently located between Kendal and Carnforth, the medieval market town of Milnthorpe is only a 10-minute drive away, here you can find a small supermarket, petrol station, four takeaways and three pubs. Levens Hall and Gardens is a 20-minute drive from the apartment, being famous for the world’s oldest Topiary Gardens with a wonderful café, also very popular with locals, serving delicious home cooked food. The rest of the Lake District National Park, including Bowness and Windermere, is a mere 30 minutes’ drive away, and the Yorkshire Dales, with the popular market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and the water falls at Ingleton, a similar distance.
    This apartment is so homely you may never want to leave, but just in case you do, you will simply be spoilt for choice for things to see and do in this area. If you enjoy walking, you can walk to Arnside Knott from here, where you can experience the most spectacular views, some of the best sunsets have been recorded in Arnside and Silverdale..
