This large country house is set on a wooded knoll and has been skilfully converted into six spacious holiday houses, which are owned by the Caravan Club Ltd and situated on the edge of one of their immaculately kept small touring caravan parks. The house consists of a two storey cottage wing (W42981), a first floor apartment (W42982), a ground floor garden apartment (W42983), two ground floor apartments (W42984 and W42986) and a first floor balcony apartment (W42985).
There’s a lot to see and do in the immediate area. Close by is beautiful Cartmel Priory and the stately homes at Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall. 3 miles west along the coast is the refined small seaside town of Grange-over-Sands with lots of shops, golf and fishing. The properties make an excellent touring base for the whole of the southern Lake District. Shop 3 miles, pub with food 400 yards.

This detached, Lakeland stone cottage stands at the foot of one of the most exciting fells of the Lake District - Blencathra. With spectacular views to both the front and rear of the property, it is well furnished and equipped and has been tastefully decorated offering all year round comfort.
Situated in the heart of Threlkeld village, which boasts 2 excellent pubs serving food, it is ideally situated with easy access to Skiddaw and the Keswick fells and lakes. Excellent walking and cycling from the doorstep on the C2C cycle route. There is also a play area and playing field opposite. Keswick, 4 miles. You can cycle or walk to Keswick via the old railway line; there is also a frequent bus service. Keswick Golf Club ½ mile from the village. This is a perfect village for a good base for activites or ideal for that ’get away from it all’ holiday. Shop 4 miles, 2 pubs 500 metres.

This deceptively spacious detached holiday house has been tastefully renovated to a good standard, with a sunny conservatory, two bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor. New for 2024, the property benefits from a new ’up-market’ kitchen along with new carpets to lounge, dining room and passage.
There is free Wi-fi in the property. There are also USB charger sockets in the main bedroom and the lounge. With Chrome Cast in the lounge, you can stream from your hand-held device. All instructions on how to use this is in the front page of the visitor’s book. The pleasant village is situated within easy walking distance of Derwent Water, with all its watersports, and is only 1.5 miles walk through the fields to the popular Lake District town of Keswick. All around there are views of the mountains, from Skiddaw to Grizedale Pike and Cat Bells, with superb walking and cycling available locally (bike hire in Keswick). Cockleshell Cottage is situated in Haverigg, adjacent to the harbour, the sandy beach, and the Cumbrian Coastal Way. A terraced holiday home in a great location being by the sea with its extensive sandy beaches yet a short drive into the Lake District with its many attractions.
Many walks, Hodbarrow RSPB reserve and even cable tow water skiing (in season) are on your doorstep. There is a horse riding centre 3½ miles away with hill and beach riding available for all ages and abilities. Sea fishing from the beach at Silecroft is only 4½ miles to the north. Muncaster Castle with its gardens and Bird of Prey Centre or a trip on Ravenglass Steam train (dogs welcome) into the heart of the Lake District make good days out. It is minutes from Lake Ullswater, with its walking, water sports and ponderous steamers making their regal-like journeys up and down the lake in the shadow of the majestic fells. This area offers many forms of recreation, whatever season you choose to visit. All three cottages have been tastefully converted from original old stone farm buildings; and wherever possible the original features have been retained. Old pitch pine beams stretch unhindered through bedrooms and across stairways and the local slate and sandstone are in evidence throughout. Guests are welcomed with fresh flowers, along with well furnished comfortable holiday accommodation, wood-burning stoves and well-equipped kitchens. For good walking, fells nearby include High Street range, 1 mile, and Helvellyn, 10 miles. The market town of Penrith, 5 miles; whilst the attractions of Keswick are 14 miles. Situated in one of the best locations in the country, this superb detached holiday barn has been converted into a spacious house with two bathrooms and an open sided barn with table tennis and darts. A river flows through the woods to the front of the converted barn where there is a packhorse bridge. Just across the field is Lake Ullswater where fishing is available, or you could simply enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Just 3 miles from Glenridding and 6 miles from Pooley Bridge, from where you can take the steamer down the lake. There is superb walking right from the door across National Trust land including the nearby Helvellyn with its famous striding edge!
