Cleugh Foot is a stunning cottage, one of the original buildings on the Netherby Estate, overlooking acres of parkland along the River Esk. This distinctive pink coloured cottage has been recently renovated in 2022 and really is a wonderful bolthole for you to enjoy an amazing holiday in an amazing location.
The quality of Cleugh Foot is evident from the moment you step through the door into the beautifully designed and modern kitchen which leads onto the dining room. From the lounge, with its cosy wood burning stove, French doors open onto the gardens and give views of the stunning countryside. Upstairs the bedrooms boast cosy beds ensuring a perfect night’s sleep. The peace and seclusion at Cleugh Foot is just what you need for that perfect relaxing holiday. Viewing down your driveway in amongst the trees outside is just as impressive with a private hot tub, outdoor dining and firepit area with gorgeous views of the whole estate. Whilst you have the seclusion at Cleugh Foot you are not far from an abundance of local attractions and are situated between the Lake District and Northumberland National Parks. Hadrian’s Wall is a must or for something more energetic, explore the Border Reivers Cycle Route, where you can explore the region’s fascinating history on ‘The Reivers Trail’. Cleugh Foot is only a few miles from the border over into Scotland where you can discover miles of stunning sandy beaches along the Solway Coast. There is so much to fill your days in this beautiful countryside, then come home to Cleugh Foot and relax in your hot tub while taking in the stunning sunsets! Beach 22 miles. Conn Cottage has recently been fully renovated in 2021, this cottage is full of character and has a peaceful location with lovely view over the stream next door that used to power the neighbouring corn mill, built from Lakeland stone. It has been attractively modernised, furnished and fitted to a high standard, with every modern convenience, making it a real home from home. The kitchen/dining room is finished to a high standard with fully integrated appliances, soft close cupboards and drawers with patio doors opening out onto the rear garden with outside seating and hot tub.
Conn Cottage is situated in the attractive hamlet of Bampton, in the Lowther Valley. This is a tranquil, unspoilt and beautiful area of the Lake District. This amazing area is perfect for getting away from it all and for seeing wildlife like red squirrels, deer and buzzards. However, the location is still also convenient for accessing not only other parts of the Lake District, but also the Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale and Hadrian’s Wall. Bampton has a village store/post office with tearoom, children’s playground and there is a lovely pub a gentle stroll away in the neighbouring hamlet of Bampton Grange. There are other excellent pubs serving food a short drive away in Askham, Tirril and Shap, as well as the hotel at Haweswater.
The nearest lakes are Haweswater and Ullswater. The area is perfect for walking and cycling with its quiet scenic roads and there is plenty of good walking from the doorstep, including on the surrounding fells leading over to Ullswater. Popular fells such as Hallin Fell and Place Fell and Mardale Head are nearby. There are lots of nearby attractions and activities including cycle hire, horse riding, Dalemain House and gardens, Aira Force, Ullswater Steamers and other water sports. The nearest town to Bampton is Penrith which is 7 miles away and the M6 is just a 10-minute drive for easy access.

Angerton Cottage is a delightful country cottage set in beautiful countryside yet close to the many and varied attractions the area has to offer. Refurbished in 2021 Angerton Cottage is lovingly decorated and furnished throughout, a particularly favourite room at Angerton Cottage is the living room with patio doors opening onto the garden where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife. In the winter the cosy wood burner in the living room is a joy.

With three comfortable bedrooms, a lovely kitchen and separate dining room it’s the perfect cottage for a family get together at any time of year and of course your four-legged friend is well catered for in the large, enclosed garden. From Angerton Cottage you can walk or cycle along quiet country lanes or jump in the car and you are in the heart of the Lake District National Park within half an hour where you can enjoy more strenuous hikes or just take in the delights of the lakes and mountains and the lovely towns like Keswick and Windermere.

Angerton Cottage is situated close to the border City of Carlisle, where you can visit a range of attractions including Tullie House and the impressive cathedral and Castle. A short drive will take you to the ruins of the famous Hadrian’s Wall, or why not take a drive over the border to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway.
