Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

The accommodation at Bee Keepers cottage is spaced over a single storey and offers light, bright accommodation with beautiful gardens and views of the rolling Derbyshire countryside.

Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Crich tramway museum are a short drive away. Local towns include Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. Derby and Nottinghamshire are a 20-minute drive.

The location is popular with walkers who enjoy the beautiful walks and trails straight from the doorstep.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

There is a fenced, 100 yards dog walk and panoramic moorland and valley views from the dining table! Attached to a stone barn in a really peaceful situation on the owner’s non working farm. Adjacent to National Trust land with walking in the Edale Valley from the door. There is an inn (serving food) half a mile away and shops, pubs, cafés, restaurant and takeaways in Hope (1 mile). The famous Blue John caverns, Mam Tor and Peveril Castle are at Castleton (2 miles); golf, fishing, Derwent Valley Cycle hire and trails and summer swimming are within 5 miles. Situated along a track, Boundary Cottage nestles on the edge of the rolling countryside in this stunning rural location.

This homely retreat is perfect for couples or families seeking a fun-filled getaway with a vast array of activities on offer within the surrounding area, or for wonderful walks with your four-legged friends to explore the delights of the countryside directly from the doorstep. Open the glass double doors into the well-equipped kitchen and then follow the hallway into the large dining area with a picturesque window overlooking the field beyond. At the end of the hallway you are greeted by the cosy living area with a large L-shaped sofa, perfect for cosying up in front of the open fire and tuning into the TV.

The character of the cottage is continued upstairs into the large bedroom, where you will find a well-presented kingsize bed, and amazing views from a dual aspect window, a great place where you can look forward to unwinding with a good book in hand. On this floor you will find a great family room with bunk bed and a single bed, ideal for children.

Outside is a private patio with seating and hot tub, where you and your loved one can soak up the sun whilst admiring the surroundings. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic base, a short walk will bring you to a local pub serving food, whilst the nearby town of Chesterfield offers a larger selection of pubs and good restaurants.

The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th-century church with its crooked spire twisting curiously from its centre, while the town offers guests the opportunity to explore the market and many of the specialist shops dotted in and out of the shambles. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. Close by you will find the impressive Elizabethan Hardwick Hall, with its six grand towers elaborately monogramed with Bess of Hardwick’s initials, overlooking the superb gardens and walled courtyards of the grounds. Also popular with visitors is the semi-ruined 17th-century mansion of Bolsover Castle, set high on a wooded hilltop, looking west towards the heights of the Peak District.

Within easy reach you will discover attractions such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Matlock and Bakewell, or the opera house at Buxton. Alternatively, the Peak District offers a magnitude of walks and cycling for those feeling active. Step into the entrance hallway where there is space for hanging coats and room for shoes or walking boots. Head through to the comfortable living room where you can relax in front of the gas wood burner and watch your favourite programme on the TV. The kitchen has a light and airy feel with all the mod cons you could wish for and a dining area to enjoy, from here you can access the fabulous outside decking area. The first floor bathroom has a shower over bath, there are two bright and airy bedrooms one double and one single to enjoy on this floor. Just 100 yards away is a footpath from where you can walk up to Solomon’s Temple, Buxton Country Park with ’Go Ape’, Pooles Cavern and a tea room within walking distance.
Buxton is a real festival town and the cottage’s great location puts you in a ideal location to enjoy its summer carnivals and many musical and theatrical events. Situated within very easy walking distance of all the Buxton International Festival and Fringe venues, it is short walk from Buxton Opera House. Buxton is surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and lies less than a mile from the Peak National Park. The more adventurous can enjoy cycling, rock climbing and gliding. Visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and the National Trust’s Hardwick Hall, all of which have starred in the BBC period dramas and historical films. And if ever you do get a yearning for the big city, there’s always Manchester, just an hour away on the train. Really, what more could you want?

Step into Ryecroft Cottage and wander through the light and airy hallway into the lounge and admire the views of Riber Castle on the hilltop above from the large window.

There is a second lounge also with a woodburning stove, Smart TV and comfy sofa and chairs giving all your party a place to relax. The kitchen offers a electric cooker and hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and convenient access to the outside area with lawned garden and patio area. Going up to the first floor, you will find a beautiful family bedroom with a double bed and single bed. The second bedroom also has a double bed, and the bathroom has a separate shower and bath.
Situated at the top of a hill that runs down into Matlock town centre, you’ll find there is host of things to see and do on your doorstep, including an array of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. There is a weekly market, and within easy reach are the gorgeous country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall both ideal for whiling away an afternoon.
The Matlock Bath Illuminations and firework display are especially popular with kids and adults alike in autumn. Just a short drive will take you to the nearby picturesque market town of Bakewell which lies in the heart of the Peak District National Park and is a delightful place for meandering through the various shops, cafés and restaurants. Once you have had your first visit to Ryecroft you will want to return time and time again!

The county town of Matlock is just 2 miles away and was popular from 1698 until 1950 for its warm springs that provided water therapy to travellers from near and far. Today the town provides a host of fine eateries, good shops, a fascinating museum and at the heart of the town, Leys Hall Park provides a lovely setting for a host of recreational activities including bowls, mini golf, tennis, boating and a children’s play area. Enjoy a thrilling day at Gulliver’s Kingdom with its owl maze, water gardens, nature trails, exhilarating rides and cable car trips over the magnificent Matlock Gorge.
The nearby High Peak Cycle Trail provides a wonderful experience, whilst the market town of Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Park and Haddon Hall are within easy reach. A wonderful location for all the family.
