The village of Bradwell is set in the hills of the Peak District National Park and the cottage is located on the side of a steep hillside. Perfectly placed for a holiday exploring the Peak District. The spa town of Buxton, the market town of Bakewell and the Chatsworth stately home are all within 10 miles. Excellent walking and riding terrain locally. Hang-gliding, rock climbing, fishing and caving are also available throughout the area. Golf 4 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub 100 yards.

A traditional stone detached cottage, situated on a main road near the River Derwent, just ½ miles from the Peak National Park, it opens the door to miles of spectacular scenery and walks, whilst being just 3 miles from Matlock with the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom. There are 2 friendly pubs in the village both serving food and the Peak Rail and Redhouse Horse and Carriage Museum are within ½ miles. Bakewell is 6 miles with Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall an easy drive. There are water sports at Carsington Water, pot holing at Castleton, Go Ape adventure course and Alton Towers within easy reach. Shops and restaurant 900 yards, pubs 75 yards.

The former 17th-century coaching inn, The Old Angel, sleeps 18 adults and is situated in the pretty conservation village of Winster. Adjoining another cottage, it offers a wealth of exposed oak beams and floorboards. It also enjoys access to the facilities at Harthill Hall, just 3 miles away with private use (12.30pm – 2.00pm each day) of the indoor heated swimming pool and sauna.
The village shop is almost next door and local inn just up the road.
Moreover, opposite The Old Angel is the famous Market Hall which is run by the National Trust. It makes an ideal holiday base, and is conveniently placed to visit the spa town of Buxton with its opera house. The bustling market town of Bakewell, situated on the River Wye is close by and within easy reach are Matlock and Matlock Bath (complete with Heights of Abraham cable cars), the popular market town of Ashbourne, the plague village of Eyam, Carsington Water with watersports, cycling and birdwatching. National Trust and period properties abound, including Kedleston Hall, Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Haddon Hall. Excellent walking in the Peak District and marked cycle trails. Nestling in the grounds of a large farmhouse in a rural position, this delightful single storey barn conversion has been skilfully renovated retaining exposed beams and trusses. The holiday property has an advantage of catering for large parties with a connecting door to the adjacent property (W7922) increasing the accommodation to 28, which makes it ideal for a large family get together. It has shared facilities with a floodlit all weather surface tennis court (equipment not provided), a small pool table and if desired, a catering service (arranged direct with the owner). This perfect location is on the edge of the tiny village of Somersal Herbert, approximately 9 miles south of the popular Derbyshire market town of Ashbourne and convenient for visiting The Potteries and Alton Towers, one of the largest theme parks in the country. Enjoy Derwent Crystal Factory at Shawcroft, the Antiques and Collectors Centre at Bakewell, the ’Heights of Abraham’ cable car rides and caves at Matlock Bath. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

This superb self-contained annexe is quietly attached to the owner’s home. Nestled in the sleepy village of Cutthorpe, in the heart of Derbyshire, you can explore the Peak District National Park within a few minutes drive. With open countryside views to the front and beautiful fields to the rear, Cutthorpe village is semi-rural and home to the fabulous Linacre Reservoirs, which are surrounded by fields and bluebell woods which provide many walking trails for all abilities. Cutthorpe benefits from three local pubs, each of which serve food, and there is a whole host of attractions within easy travelling distance. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle can all be reached in less than 30 minutes, as can the towns of Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, Chesterfield and even the city of Sheffield. For the energetic, Carsington Water has cycling routes and sailing available, and can be reached in around 45 minutes. For those bigger thrills, Alton Towers can be reached in around an hour. This attractive detached house has been lovingly furnished to a good standard and is situated in the pretty village of Clifton. On the ground floor is a cosy living room, a dining room with seating for all 6 guests and a well-equipped kitchen to rustle up your favourite family dish. Moving upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed and en-suite facilities. A further two bedrooms comprise of one with a double bed and the other with twin beds, both with a TV. A family bathroom is also conveniently situated on this floor.
This holiday property is in a great location for exploring the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Peak District, and the fabulous market town of Ashbourne, with its quirky antique shops and many bespoke coffee shops and restaurants. Ashbourne is known as the gateway to the Peak District National Park and is an ideal base to visit many attractions, including Alton Towers, 8 miles.
There are so many places to visit in the Peak District that one visit may not be enough. Interesting market towns offer very different attractions. Visit Bakewell and its museum to learn more about the Bakewell Elephant, or the spa town of Buxton with its opera house.
Castleton and its amazing show caves, Blue John mines and cliff top Peveril Castle is worth the trip, and no visit to the Peak District would be complete without a day spent at fabulous Chatsworth House and Gardens, with waterfall cascade and the Emperor Fountain reaching heights of 300ft!

This pleasant bungalow stands in lovely lawned and flowered gardens, just above the former village school where the 1817 ‘Pentrich Revolution’ began. With super views across Amber Valley to Crich Stand and the wooded hills above Matlock, it offers very comfortable, well-equipped holiday accommodation. An attraction-filled area, the Crich Tram Museum, Midland Railway Centre, Gulliver’s Kingdom are close by. Good walking and an easy drive to the White Peak, Dovedale, Bakewell and ‘Robin Hood Country’. Shops within 1 mile, pub 200 yards.

This imposing 19th-century building was originally the coach house and stables for the nearby ‘Owl Coaching Inn’ (reputedly a haunt of highwayman Dick Turpin), that’s now a farm, just 2 miles from the historic Derwent Valley mill town of Belper. The building has been most sympathetically converted and retains hand-cut lintels, vaulted coach-ways on the exterior, and superb barrel-vaulted ceilings, all emphasise the historical importance of this Grade II listed structure. The original arched coach entrances now have French windows that open onto flagstone terraced areas. Turpin’s Cottage, in the grounds of the farm with another property, overlooks a wooded dell, and adjoins a 2-acre paddock and a play field with ample parking. Belper’s formal river gardens, visitor centre, and historical mills, now a World Heritage site, are within 2 miles. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Matlock and Matlock Bath, and the popular market town of Bakewell, are all a short drive away. Shops and pubs 2 miles.

This 1840s cottage, adjoining the owners property, overlooks the towpath of the Peak Forest canal, close to the marina, and with an outlook to the High Peak Moors. There’s a patio and lawn, and the first floor kitchen door opens to a small terrace overlooking the water. A good value holiday base for the Peak Park, with Buxton and Castleton an easy drive, and for the museums and nightlife of Manchester. There is a supermarket, 1 mile away, which can be reached by a walk along the canal towpath, or 5 minutes by car. Horse riding and golf can be found nearby.
