Excellent walking can be found from the doorstep, plus activities at Carsington Water including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and cycling, plus excellent birdwatching in the surrounding areas.

Situated in the pretty and popular Peak District village of Birchover, this stunning Grade II* listed, detached, Georgian house boasts great views over the local countryside and provides the perfect base to relax and enjoy this beautiful corner of England.
Bradley Hall, built in 1774, has retained many of its original features including fireplaces, flagstone and wooden floors, mullion windows and shutters. The ground floor comprises a kitchen/pantry with a gas range cooker and the dining room has a dining table to seat eight comfortably. A south-facing garden completes this lovely historic property, and also makes the ideal place for relaxing with a glass of wine or al-fresco dining in the warm, balmy summer evenings, since there also an outdoor table seating eight guests where you can dine in style. There is also a decked area complete with 8-seater hot tub and fire pit/pizza oven.
The village is ringed by rocks and tors and is set in one the of the most stunning parts of the Peak District, with two excellent pubs. Fantastic walking can be found from the doorstep and for nature lovers, there are great spots for birdwatching in the surrounding areas. For days out, the magnificent stately homes, including the beautiful Chatsworth House (8 miles) and Haddon Hall (4 miles) are an absolute must see, whilst a little further afield, but well worth a visit is Hardwick Hall (National Trust). For water sport enthusiasts, Carsington Water is within easy reach, with sailing, wind-surfing and canoeing all available.

Owl Cottage is a Derbyshire stone cottage with a cosy living room with low beamed ceiling and a feature exposed stone wall. Cuddle up on the sofa in front of the stone and oak hearth with wood burner-effect gas fire, and TV and DVD player to watch your favourite programs on. The kitchen is light and airy and leads directly to the cottage-style garden at the rear of the cottage. You will find the kitchen/dining room is well equipped with all that you would need to cook a lovely meal, where you can eat at the large kitchen table with five chairs to enjoy your meals. There are two good sized double bedrooms upstairs; the front bedroom has a kingsize bed and fabulous views from the low window, the rear bedroom has a standard double bed. Downstairs is where you will find the bathroom, which has a large shower, toilet and small sink. The garden is fully enclosed and the patio is a private spot surrounded by flowers, perfect for enjoying sunny days and enjoying al fresco dining or just a morning cuppa.

The village of Crich is full of character and history, and boasts a number of shops including a wonderful bread shop/tearoom traditional bake and convenience store. There are two family and dog friendly pubs that serve food and three other "eateries". There are walks around the village and the Cromford canal and the trams at the museum that take you up the valley to some of the most beautiful views of the Derbyshire Dales. Matlock, 7 miles away, offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car that takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham - a great place for all the family with its show-caves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, while to the north is the market town of Bakewell, as well as Chatsworth House and Park and Haddon Hall, with Carsington Water offering fantastic watersports, not to be missed! Owl Cottage is the ideal place to visit at any time of year!

The Pig Barn at Nether Burrows Farm was lovingly converted in 2016 and once housed pigs along with their keepers that used to sleep in the same building on the top floor. Whilst Nether Burrows offers enough to keep everyone entertained, it is ideally positioned to explore all the Peak District has to offer. The bustling city of Derby is just 4 miles away and within easy driving distance are Chatsworth House (which boasts a famous collection of art treasures as well as beautiful gardens) and Haddon Hall (England’s most complete and authentic medieval house dating back to the 14th century). Carsington Water offers nature trails, a wildlife sanctuary, riding, water sports, cycle hire and a restaurant. There are many excellent pubs in the surrounding villages. Dovedale, Markeaton Park and the market towns of Ashbourne and Bakewell are also well worth a visit. Shop 3½ miles, pub 1¼ miles and restaurant 2¼ miles.

Littonfields Barn is a beautiful barn conversion in the heart of the Peak District and offers luxury accommodation for up to twelve guests across five en-suite bedrooms. It has been furnished to a high standard and features a split level layout to take advantage of the wonderful views and beautiful beams. It has comfortable sofas, oak dining table, comfortable beds with high quality mattresses and linen and is the perfect spot for family gatherings, relaxed celebrations, cycling and walking groups. Enter onto the ground floor where you will find the majority of the bedrooms. Each bedroom on this floor has an en-suite shower room; there are two triple rooms all having single beds, a twin room, and a double. On the first floor you will be greeted by high ceilings and wooden beams running throughout, the fifth bedroom is found on this floor, which is a double, along with a bathroom. The kitchen has a great atmosphere and is a perfect social space so you can all be involved, it has a large oak dining table to comfortably seat all twelve guests. The doors are kept open into the living room which is very impressive, it features ample seating, lots of space and a wood burner. The barn has the fantastic addition of a games room across the courtyard with a table football and pool table. Littonfields Barn is located in a private courtyard with ample parking for up to six cars, a bike store and bike and boot washing facilities with a dryer racks. There is a pretty, raised patio area with table and chairs which is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or a family barbecue.
There is a country pub close by serving great food as well as a local shop open seven days a week. There are many wonderful walks straight from the door, and walks from the property include the Litton Loop which is a lovely circular route direct from the barn which takes the Cressbrook Dale, Litton Edge and a few cafés and pubs along the way. The High Peak, Monsall and Tissington Trails are a short drive from the property plus there are many places for cycle hire. Be sure to come to this perfect spot for your celebrations and get togethers.

Hathersage is known for its picturesque landscapes and offers a range of enjoyable walks. One popular option is the walk to Stanage Edge, a stunning gritstone escarpment that offers breathtaking views of the Peak District National Park. For a more challenging hike, you can explore the nearby Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District. After a day of outdoor activities, you’ll find several charming pubs in Hathersage where you can relax and sample local cuisine offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere along with delicious food and drinks. In addition to walks and pubs, Hathersage and the surrounding area offer plenty of other activities. Entering The Stone Barn after walking up the garden path, you’ll find your shoe storage, hot tub towels and the ground floor toilet, perfect when nipping to and from the tub. The ground floor has a large open plan living space with French doors opening directly into the enclosed garden where you have a deck to enjoy your morning coffee, a patio with a table and seating for eight, and a brick-built BBQ. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay, whilst meals are enjoyed seated on the handmade tables and benches. The living area boasts a large L-sofa with ample space for a full house. The log burner takes centre stage so everyone can enjoy the extra warmth of the fire whilst chatting or watching a film on the TV.
The sheltered hot tub seats eight adults and can be enjoyed all year round, despite the unpredictable English weather! There are two en-suite bedrooms; the spacious super king is on the ground floor with a walk-in shower and the other is located upstairs with a kingsize bed and enclosed shower. The remaining first floor rooms also offer kingsize beds and share a larger bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. All the beds in the property can be split into singles upon request. Dogs are welcome in The Stone Barn; the fenced garden means you won’t need to worry about any escape artists, and the owners are happy to offer access to various fields on the farm for ’walkies’.

A short journey by car reveals even more opportunities, from stunning natural beauty spots, with routes suitable from novice to the most-seasoned ramblers, like Stanage and Curbar Edge or the magnificent Mam Tor. Picturesque villages such as Bakewell and Castleton are great for coffee and cake pit-stops along the way, whilst there’s also tons of great days out for families such as Chatsworth Farmyard and Adventure Playground, The Heights of Abraham, and Alton Towers. Sheffield is only a 20-minute drive away and equally as close to the stunning scenery of South Yorkshire. There are two pubs within walking distance from the farm, plus more a short drive away.

The market town of Ashbourne lies four miles to the west and is bustling with bars, restaurants and independent shops as well as supermarkets. Beyond Ashbourne, take a leisurely stroll along the nearby trails, such as the Tissington Trail or at Dovedale and soak in the natural beauty of the Peak District National Park. If you’re an adventure enthusiast, you’ll find plenty to do in the area. Engage in exhilarating activities such as cycling, horseback riding, or even hot-air ballooning to appreciate the breath-taking views from above. Further afield, don’t miss a visit to Chatsworth House or the stunning Heights of Abraham, a hilltop park with caves and a cable car ride. There are many eateries around this location consisting of pubs, cafés and restaurants to serve all appetites.
