Bideford, EnglandSituated right beside the South-West Coastal Path, Riverside Mews is a relaxing, end-terraced riverside house that provides great holiday accommodation regardless of the time of year. Recently renovated in 2023 where new vinyl tiles floors have been laid on the ground floor and upstairs bathroom. The property enjoying stunning views across the River Torridge from the garden is also just a short level walk along the river to one side, and Bideford’s Victoria Park on the other (some 400 yards away). The path leads through the park (home to Burton Art Gallery and Museum and the Café du Parc) and on to the pretty port town of Bideford, with its pastel-coloured houses alongside a tree-lined quay. The park and its play areas are great for the young (and young at heart) with numerous playing fields, & a dedicated area for dogs, a small pool plus a skateboard park next to Bideford Town Football Club nearby.
What to Do? Maybe take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island, which offers the chance to see seals and dolphins, or there are many a pretty fishing villages to explore in the area, starting with places such as Clovelly, Instow and Appledore. Just 2 miles away, the vast golden sandy beach of Westward Ho! is popular with surfers. If you’d rather stay a little closer to home, you can saunter along the coastal path that follows the river, yards from the water’s edge. The nearest slipway is 200 yards down river from the property, whilst keen cyclists and walkers can join the Tarka Trail, which passes through Bideford.

There are many other coves and bays at Combe Martin, Lee Bay and Hele Bay which are ideal for rock pooling. Towards Lynton and Lynmouth there is dramatic scenery as Exmoor meets the coast, from the plunging cliffs at Countisbury Head to the beauty of the Valley of the Rocks. There is the Victoria Cliff Railway connecting Lynton to Lynmouth and also access to the Southwest Coast Path. At Ilfracombe, there is bustling harbourside and the Tunnels Beaches. For some real holiday excitement, a trip to Watermouth Castle, Combe Martin Wildlife Park or the Big Sheep will certainly make somebodies holiday. Brixham, EnglandA delightful property set within walking distance of Brixham town centre and the harbour. Situated in an elevated position in a quiet residential area of Brixham, with panoramic views of the town with its many brightly coloured cottages.
