The cottages lie just a short distance from some of south Devon’s finest beaches and tourist attractions, including the historic town of Totnes which is just 15 minutes away and sits on the River Dart with cruises down river to Greenway and Dartmouth. A cosmopolitan town, Totnes, 7 miles away, has a vast array of independent shops, weekly markets, galleries, leisure centre and many lovely restaurants, bistros and cafés. The seaside towns of Paignton and Torquay are 40 minutes’ drive, and it is just a 15-minute drive to the yachting haven of Dartmouth, and the coastline between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge, both 7 miles away, has many stunning beaches, hidden coves and fantastic coastal walks.

Guests of these cottages can also enjoy a range of on-site facilities suitable for all the family, including a heated indoor swimming pool (available via a booking system) with a private changing room and shower. There is a large games room set over two floors, including a fitness room with a cross trainer, treadmill, rowing machine and exercise bike. The top floor of the games room has a full-size American pool table, big sofa and Sky TV. The bottom floor has table tennis and table football. On-site there is also a laundry and ironing room. North Barn is a luxurious, detached barn conversion with four immaculate bedrooms, accommodating up to eight guests in total. No attention to detail has been forgotten, it is a truly idyllic holiday home retreat. Walk in from the private garden, straight into the hallway which leads to the homely, light and spacious open plan living space, which is attractively furnished with plenty of space for families or a group of friends. The kitchen has sleek grey units with ample preparation and storage space, and is fully equipped with a range of integrated appliances. The large island in the centre of the kitchen is a great spot to catch-up over coffee, and the large dining table is the perfect sociable area for a celebratory meal where you can entertain your guests and toast to the good times that lie ahead. The spacious living area has a 55" Smart TV and two large sofas. Perfect to relax in after a busy day exploring this part of Devon.
Upstairs, the bedrooms and landing have beautiful features, including wooden beams, sky lights, a glass balustrade staircase and high ceilings. There is one cosy twin bedroom and one standard double bedroom which have shared use of the family bathroom. There are also two spacious kingsize bedrooms which each have their own contemporary en-suite shower room. Each of the bedrooms are furnished with a Smart TV, built-in wardrobes and bedside tables with lamps.
This first-rate home-away-from-home offers splendid outdoor spaces, including a patio at the front of the property with an outdoor picnic bench and parasol. There is also an enclosed lawned garden at the back of the property. The patio area is a lovely spot in the evenings to enjoy the sun setting with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand.
North Barn is an absolute delight and there is also the option to book South Barn (ref BCSBARN), which is a luxurious three-bedroom property located on the other side of the courtyard area, together they can accommodate a total of 14 guests.
This beautiful holiday home benefits from lovely countryside walks close by on Dartmoor and Exmoor, and cyclists and walkers are well catered for in the area with the famous Tarka Trail within easy reach as well as The Granite Way. The Tarka Train Line is a great alternative to a day driving, catch this local line at Eggesford Junction and head up to the coast or to the cathedral city of Exeter.
Iddesleigh, Hatherleigh and Winkleigh are just a short drive away and offer shops and pubs. The village of Iddesleigh, which is a 5-minute drive away, is known as War Horse Country as this is where Michael Morpurgo wrote the novel ’War Horse’. You will also be within easy reach of a riding stable, coarse fishing at Stafford Moor and War Horse Valley Farm Park, and slightly further afield are RHS Rosemoor Gardens, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way.
The stunning surfing beaches of the North Devon and North Cornwall coastline are an easy drive away for a day out, with sandy beaches and sheltered coves to explore including Bude, Saunton Sands, Croyde and Westward Ho! Discover the magnificent points of High Willhays and Yes Tor at Dartmoor National Park, where you can enjoy a scenic hike to the summit for unrivaled views, before embarking on an exhilarating outdoor adventure of canoeing or climbing with Adventure Okehampton. A visit to Castle Drogo is also not to be missed, an extraordinary castle with fantastic gardens, a shop and a restaurant with the moors as the backdrop.

Tembridge House is a luxurious, four-bedroom converted barn set on West Yeo Farm near Witheridge in mid Devon. Guests will love the rural tranquil location with its abundance of wildlife and beautiful views, together with the property’s underfloor heating, plenty of parking and large garden. The open plan living space feels bright and spacious with exposed beams and vaulted ceilings. Surrounded by rolling green fields in splendid isolation, West Yeo Farm is set over 76 acres. This medieval farm, mentioned in the Domesday book, enjoys uninterrupted countryside views across the valley to the village of Witheridge beyond. There are many interesting walks across the land and along the river nearby, and in the autumn, it is possible to help with the annual apple harvest and cider production. This part of Devon is an excellent touring base with easy access to lots of places of interest. Nearby you can explore the Two Moors Way, visit RHS Rosemoor, The Grand Western Canal, Knightshayes House or the breathtaking scenery at Exmoor National Park, a short drive away. There are plenty of National Trust properties in the area, as well as some fabulous villages and farm shops.
West Yeo Farm is just a couple of miles from Witheridge and a short drive from the market town of South Molton, known for its pannier market, quaint tea rooms and antiques shops. The accommodation is set midway between Devon’s two coastlines, convenient for a day out to either. The award-winning North Devon coastline is within a 50-minute drive and has golden sandy surfing beaches, whilst the Jurassic South Devon coastal beauty spots are within an hour’s drive.

Broadshade Holiday Apartments are self-catering apartments located just a few minutes’ walk from Paignton, a seaside town making up part of the beautiful English Riviera. The harbour is just down the road with an array of bars and restaurants as well as a small convenience store for stocking up on essentials. Slightly further past the harbour is the large green and beach for a great day out. There are an abundance of activities to do nearby such as a large cinema, crazy golf course, leisure arcades and the pier all located on the stretch of green/beach, plenty to keep the whole family entertained.
Within the town there is also a train and bus station, very handy for guests not wanting to drive. From the train station guests can also take the ’Round Robin’ tour, this famous and award winning tour is the best way to explore South Devon! Includes steam train, river boat and bus visiting the quaint towns of Paignton, Dartmouth and Totnes. A great day out for all the family.
Guests wanting to venture further afield can explore the nearby famous fishing town of Brixham, Kingswear and Dartmouth via the ferry with their beautiful river views and boat tours as well as the rest of the stunning South Hams including the market town of Totnes and the boating town of Salcombe. Located under 3 miles from Crackington Haven, a coastal village at the head of a cove on the Atlantic coast and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is popular with tourists, walkers, surfers and geology enthusiasts. At high tide the shoreline is mainly stony but when low you are greeted to a lovely golden sandy beach with plenty of rock pools to enjoy. And surfers, both experienced and beginners enjoy the varying tidal conditions the cove provides and with lifeguard cover from July to end of September you can relax a little bit more too! Locally there are also tea rooms and a pub to enjoy. On-site, there is a shared games room with pool table, air hockey, dart board, large chalk board, disco ball and bluetooth speaker.
If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice in the wider area. Much of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this property including Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination too. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. It has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the South West Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside.
Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and a heritage centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants and an excellent information centre.
