Situated in the Rhins of Galloway in the coastal village of Drummore, Scotland’s most southerly point, these holiday cottages stand on the shore of Luce Bay with its sand and shingle beaches just across the road. The well-equipped cottages offer stunning views across the expanse of Luce Bay with its white tipped waves and sea birds, beautiful in the summer, but equally spectacular for wave watching in winter. The area is unspoilt, the scenery idyllic, and the seascapes around the Rhins as dramatic as they are beautiful. Attractions include golf courses and the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Harbour porpoises, dolphins, seals and otters can all be seen in the area. Logan Botanical Gardens are a must during spring and summer with its beautiful displays of rare and native plants, as are the gardens at Castle Kennedy and Ardwell House. 5 miles north of Stranraer is Cairnryan, home to the Stena Line and P&O ferries which make regular trips to Ireland. A local, well stocked convenience store, café/seafood restaurant and 3 pubs are all within 500 yards.

A delightful semi-detached holiday cottage in an idyllic location with magnificent sea views to the Isle of Man and the Galloway Hills. Situated ¾ mile up a private good road, on the edge of the owner’s 50 acres of private woodland, with paths leading to a secluded sandy, pebbly beach and rocks for sea fishing - 10 minute walk. This delightfully situated, detached, holiday cottage has been renovated to a very good standard and is located within the national scenic area. It stands within a secluded garden and enjoy a delightful patio area within the walled area of the garden. The cottage, which is near Caerlaverock Castle, adjoins the famous Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve and is only ¼ mile from the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and, just down the road is the Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve made famous by BBC’s ‘Autumnwatch’. The county town of Dumfries is a short drive away providing a wide range of shops and places of interest. It makes an ideal base for exploring this wonderful area either by car, cycle or on foot and the Mabie Forest mountain bike tracks are close by, whilst the scenic Caerlaverock Estate has a network of paths to enjoy on the doorstep. Close to excellent salmon fishing on the River Nith and wildfowling on the National Nature Reserve. There are several excellent golf courses in the area including the championship course at Southerness. There are wonderful views over the Solway Coast towards the Lake District. The garden is well stocked having roses, shrubs and mature trees. Visit one of the three tearooms within 5 miles.

Situated in the quiet village of Kirkgunzeon, close to the town of Dalbeattie, this spacious semi-detached holiday cottage looks onto a bubbling stream at the bottom of the garden. There are various walks available, from scenic coastal walks to marked forest trails with the world class Dalbeattie 7 Stanes mountain trail close by, as well as Mabie Forest - it is a popular location for mountain bikers of all levels. With sailing, swimming, riding, fishing, golf, boat trips and water sports close by, there is sure to be something for everyone. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, there are many beautiful gardens to visit, including Threave Gardens (National Trust), historical sites and castles to explore. Discover the Solway Coast with its extensive sandy beaches, rocky coves, traditional fishing villages and harbour ports. Kirkcudbright, the artists’ town, has art galleries, antique shops, museums and shops while Castle Douglas, Scotlands Food Town, is a traditional market town with many local foods available. Bengairn is a delightful lodge situated in a small select group of 10 similar properties, with open views over Colvend Golf Course, the local hills, and the Solway Firth, with the Lake District in the distance. It is beautifully presented, cosy, and inviting. The scenery is stunning, so why not take advantage of this from your very own balcony? You will probably be disturbed only by a glimpse of the odd badger, deer, or red squirrel! If you are feeling a little more energetic then stroll through the golf course to the beautiful Sandyhills Beach which is under 1 mile away. Your dogs are very welcome to this lovely lodge and we are certain they too will enjoy the walk to the beach!

Bengairn is easily accessible to everything this lovely corner of Dumfries and Galloway has to offer from the picturesque little villages of Sandyhills, Kippford, and Rockcliffe, where you can discover some of the 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded little bays and sandy beaches. Visit the many historical sites in the area such as Threave Castle, described as the most romantic place in Galloway, and to reach it, ring the bell at the jetty and the custodian ferries you by rowing boat over to the island! This area is also home to supreme mountain biking, challenging hill walks, and without a doubt some of the darkest skies in the world.

Visit the local towns of Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas, and Kirkcudbright with their variety of niche shops, art galleries, and excellent restaurants. Castle Douglas, the ‘Food Town’, has around fifty local businesses either selling or producing food. A visit to Kirkcudbright during their summer festivities is not to be missed with events such as the colourful Jazz Festival, the Riding of the Marches, and the spectacular Tattoo.
