The Linden Suite is beautifully furnished throughout to an exceptionally high standard. All on one level, the accommodation is all on the ground floor with full wheelchair access, wide doors and walk-in bath. The living area is open plan with a modern well equipped kitchen, a dining area as well as two sofas in front of the large Smart TV. One of the sofas is a high quality sofa bed which can be used by two additional guests on request. There is a double bedroom as well as a twin bedroom, both have wardrobes and TVs. The bathroom has a walk-in bath, with a glass door enabling you to step into the bath easily with a rainforest shower over.
The holiday park is well equipped to entertain and delight guests all year round. With a heated indoor swimming pool, which has public sessions as well as private bookable sessions so you can have the luxury of having the entire pool to yourselves. There is also a gym, sauna and hot tub, for guests use. The family bar is spacious and has entertainment on certain nights throughout the week, as well as showcasing Sky Sports. There is a great beer garden looking out onto the children’s play area, as well as a pool table, making this a fun social space for everyone. The bar serves food so you can treat yourself if you fancy a night off from cooking. This is a great destination for dogs, on-site the bar is dog friendly and there is a dog walking trail through the holiday park and along the edge of the neighbouring woods. Most of the beaches nearby are dog friendly or have dog friendly sections, with some fabulous walking trails in the Wolds as well as the National Park including Dalby Forest.
The site is just 8 miles from the centre of Filey which has a wonderful stretch of beach that goes for over 5 miles down the coast. The seaside town of Filey has been visited for generations by lots of families attracted by the beach and the traditional seaside resort. The cobble landing leads down to the Filey Brigg where you see many children rock pooling. On the clifftops is the end of the Cleveland Way walk, with many a weary walker sitting on the clifftops after completing the walk. The walks among the clifftops are stunning and some of the best available down the East Coast. To the south you have the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs, and you’ll see all the migrating birds from puffins to guillemots and kittiwakes. The seaside resorts of Scarborough, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are just a short drive away.
Scarborough has two glorious beaches with a castle on the cliff top in-between, you also have the oriental gardens at Peasolm park, the Sealife Centre and one of Europe’s largest open air theatres which a great line up during the summer months. The medieval City of York is less than an hour away and is voted every year as being one of the top ten cities to visit. Try not to miss it during your stay as you will not be disappointed. A wonderful old walled city with lots of independent shops, cafés and street entertainers as well as the majestic Minster standing proud overlooking the city. Glendale Cottage (ref W43490) and Glendale Mews (ref W43489) are the ideal spot for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in beautiful natural surroundings. There is an indoor, heated swimming pool which guests can hire for private use (at cost), and also the use of over 11 acres of natural woodland and grounds that form part of this beautiful location. The owners live on-site in the original period farmhouse, accessed via a driveway lined with rhododendrons through a small dense wood. There is a small wooded picnic and play area with a log cabin function room and a large charcoal BBQ, as well as another wooded area accommodating hens and a natural pond. There is access to a public footpath from the properties.
Located on the southern edge of the Northumberland National Park and inside the International Dark Skies Park, Glendale is easily found on the B6318 just north of Haltwhistle.
Perfect for guests who enjoy walking, rambling or cycling, these properties are within walking distance of Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site, and are situated centrally between Walltown Craggs and Cawfield’s picnic area, two of the most picturesque views along the wall. Just a little further along are the Roman remains and museums of Vindolanda and Housesteads as well as Steel Rigg, Sycamore Gap and the Visitor Centre at Once Brewed (The Sill), which offers charging, points for electric vehicles.
Many other activities are available locally, including birdwatching, horse riding, tennis, golf, fishing and open air swimming. Glendale is perfectly placed for easy access to many other historical Roman sites, forts and temples, the National Nature Reserves of Muckle Moss and Greenlee Lough, and the spectacular Kielder Forest and Reservoir offering a variety of sailing and water sports. Northumberland is a county of wild open spaces, unspoilt and breathtaking.
For those guests wishing to explore further afield, within an hour’s drive there is Carlisle, Gateway to Scotland and the Lake District, the historic town of Hexham, and fabulous shopping at the Metrocentre, Gateshead, as well as Newcastle city with its regenerated riverside, shopping, theatres and nightlife.
