The Cottage has commanding, stunning views across the English Channel. This attractive, spacious, family home for all seasons is the ideal property for a relaxing holiday with both friends or relatives.

There is a private hot tub at The Cottage, and the property offers 2 games rooms, 1 in the house with children’s toys, a library, games and 2 table football tables. There is a large, second games room in the garage next to the house which offers a number of activities including: table tennis, pool table, darts, bows and arrows, basketball (outside the garage). These games rooms also feature a kitchenette with a fridge, and seating area with a large sofa, ideal for all ages. Please note this games room is not heated.
A decked terrace runs the length of the property, an ideal spot for soaking up the sun or relax after a brisk winter walk in front of a glowing log burner in the cosy living room, overlooking the frothing waves. Four of the six bedrooms have sea views and the other two have attractive garden views.
The white chalk cliff above St Margaret’s Bay is said to be the first place the sun reaches each morning on mainland Britain! The beach is famous for being the closest point to France and is the spot where Channel swimmers begin their marathon 21 mile swim.
The village itself offers good pubs, restaurants and local shop within walking distance. The coastal path leads to the famous White Cliffs of Dover, gateway to England and now one of the UK’s protected Heritage coasts offering some of the best cliff coastal walking in the country. The lighthouse is the place where Marconi transmitted his first radio broadcast to France. Closer to France than London, bring a passport, catch a ferry from Dover and visit the French markets in Calais and Boulogne for the day.

Nestled away in Northumberland along a country lane and with views across open fields, Vindomora Country Lodges are an ideal place to enjoy a super holiday. There are nine lodges (refs UK10383, UK10384, UK10385, UK10386, UK10388, UKC4416, UK33743, UK36147 and UK12633) which are all on one level and finished to a high standard. Each lodge boasts a super, open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The living area is spacious and comfortable with a wood burner and views out across the fields. The furnishings are of an excellent standard and the kitchens are fully fitted with all appliances including gas hob, electric oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The family bathrooms all boast a great shower, heated towel rail and ample storage space for toiletries. Coria Lodge (ref UKC4416) has been adapted to accomodate wheelchair users, with disabled parking, extra wide ramp access, widened doorways, raised electrical sockets and hoist facilities. The low level entry bathroom has a large shower with bi-folding doors allowing wheelchair access, a grab rail and raised toilet. Each detached lodge also offers a private, 6-seater hot tub (Coria Lodge, ref UKC4416, has a hoist rail system installed) and garden area with garden furniture for sitting out and enjoying the location. These properties are for families and couple bookings only, bookings for party purposes such as stag or hen parties are not accepted.
Perfectly situated near to the banks of the River Derwent with a boat house and fishing permits available for a small fee, guests who enjoy river fishing will be spoilt for choice. Also just a few hundred yards from the Derwent Walkway as well as a variety of established public footpaths, walks and cycling routes, there is no better base for enjoying and exploring the local area. Then leading further out into County Durham, Northumberland, the Northumberland National Park and the stunning North Pennines. Only half a mile from the village of Ebchester, there are plenty of amenities and facilities right on the doorstep. A local village pub, excellent restaurants and a village shop are at the heart of this thriving community and within easy walking distance from the lodges. Golf lovers will be able to book a place on the famous Slaley Hall course just 15 miles away or the closer course at Consett which is just 3 miles away. The cathedral city of Durham, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is only 15 miles away and well worth a visit.
Officially located in Northumberland yet also on the border of County Durham, there are plenty of places to visit and explore within an easy radius. Steeped in history, the county of Northumberland is home to the historic Hadrian’s Wall which spans 73 miles from coast to coast and is now recognised as a World Heritage Site. The market town of Hexham is a 15 mile drive away and offers plenty of facilities and amenities including a leisure centre, bowling alley, supermarkets, shops and a farmers market, as well as the historic attractions including Hexham Abbey and Hexham Old Gaol. The pretty town of Corbridge lies just 10 miles away and boasts a cobbled street centre surrounded by quaint tea shops, cafés and boutiques. Beach 24 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Owl Cottage can be found on a working sheep farm just a short walk from the cliff top village of Flamborough in North Yorkshire. One of a number of barn conversions offering dog friendly accommodation for six with underfloor heating throughout. Enter into the large living/dining room with Smart TV and feature stone wall. An electric wood effect fire sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening. Find a selection of books and games for your enjoyment. A country style dining table provides and enjoyable place for family meals. The kitchen is well-equipped and a small breakfast table sits to one side. Owl Cottage provides a ground floor twin room with en-suite facilities. Take the winding staircase to the first floor and find two further bedrooms, a twin room and a double room with Freeview TV. Both rooms have sloping ceilings and Velux windows. Across the hall is the house bathroom which has the best views in the cottage! To the front is a private patio area with additional seating. Enjoy an early morning coffee or an al fresco evening meal. A stone built barbecue is ideally located to cook up a storm after a long day exploring.
Owl Cottage is surrounded by open countryside and it’s only a short walk into the pretty village of Flamborough. Here you’ll find a couple of friendly pubs, fish and chip shops, tea rooms and well stocked convenience stores. Take a drive to Flamborough Lighthouse and watch the seals rest at low tide. The Flamborough Heritage Coastline offers miles of walking/cycling opportunities as well as the stunning RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Danes Dyke Nature Reserve is also worth a visit. For two sandy beaches, working harbour and Victorian Promenade take a trip down the coast to Bridlington. Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and gardens and Sewerby Hall and garden are close by. The historic city of York is just an hour away and there is a choice of golf courses.

Sheringham is home to the North Norfolk steam railway, passing through the countryside designated as an AONB. Wroxham, the capital of the Broads, is 14 miles for daily boat and river trips, to explore the expanse of waterways a natural haven for wildlife. The livelier seaside resort of Great Yarmouth for fun fairs, aqua park, Sea Life Centre and pier entertainment is only 25 miles away. The local market town of North Walsham is 5 miles for regular market days, and Bacton Woods close by, ideal for cycling, walking and woodland picnics. Bird watching, golf and fishing all available locally. Alternatively spend a day in the fine city of Norwich, with its cathedrals, museums, theatres, shopping and array of cafes and restaurants. The Orangery is the perfect holiday retreat in the port town of Bideford with its pastel coloured houses and tree lined quay. With plenty of activities and attractions for both families and adults just a short drive away. Just a few to mention include the Big Sheep Family attraction, the Milky Way Adventure park, Tapely Park Gardens and Rosemoor Gardens. You are just a few minutes walk to the town centre with many shops, bars, restaurants and the Pannier Market. Bideford also boasts a lovely large park with a good size adventure playground for children, park café and outdoor paddling pool, free to use in the summer months. North Devon is the ideal location for those bringing their dogs on holiday with them with many of the local beaches being dog friendly, as are several pubs. This charming wing of the owner’s grand Victorian home sits at the end of a sweeping drive in a quiet edge of town location and has been refurbished to a very good standard providing quality and two bedroom accommodation with the added bonus of a private hot tub. North Devon has plenty to see and do, and is home to some of the best beaches in the country including Woolacombe and Saunton. The nearest beach is at Instow and is ideal for children or just a great place to walk off life’s stresses, and then enjoy a meal or drink at one of the pubs and restaurants along the front. The town of Great Torrington is only a short drive away and has most amenities you may require. The larger regional town of Barnstaple has a busy high street, the Pannier Market and famous Butchers Row. There are numerous places of interest close by including the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. For the younger ones a visit to the Big Sheep or Milky Way Adventure Parks is a good option. There is walking on Dartmoor or hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail, and there is also golf and fishing available locally.
Beaford House is also a registered wedding venue and as well as the large house, there is also access to a great, well equipped function room should you decide to spend your big day here. Shop 5 miles, pub ¾ mile.

In the heart of West Dorset, on a working farm, situated in the beautiful Marshwood Vale only 2½ miles from the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast between Lyme Regis to the west and Bridport and West Bay to the east, this large, semi-detached farmhouse for twelve guests and offers a great holiday location to escape from the pressures of life and unwind in this wonderful area. Purcombe Farmhouse offers spacious accommodation for two to three families. Outside one can sit undercover and enjoy a barbecue or al fresco meal with some wine, and families can relax in the large garden with its lawn and lovely views over the Marshwood Vale. Within easy driving there is much to do; exploring the seaside resorts along this scenic coast, taking in Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Eype, West Bay, Abbotsbury and on to Weymouth and Portland Bill. Perhaps some coastal walking, maybe up to the top of Golden Cap with its fantastic views over Lyme Bay, followed by a hearty meal and refreshment in Chideock. There is swimming, fossil hunting, boating, fishing and golf along the coast or inland attractions such as Forde Abbey and Gardens, Broadwindsor Craft Centre, Yeovil Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum and so much more to have a memorable gathering, be it family or friends.
